About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Hampshire. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.  

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working in advocacy, or providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

In this newly created role you will be responsible for the provision of high quality financial performance reporting, management information and business insights to inform decision making and drive financial performance.

Purpose of job:

As the Head of Creative Services, you will be pivotal in establishing the smooth operation of our Production Directorate. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will collaborate with department heads and other senior stakeholder across the organisation to develop and implement project management and content workflows across teams to enable the team to deliver work effectively.

Once creative ideas are envisioned and agreed upon, you will lead the team in creating the roadmap for implementation. Your role entails developing, training, and assimilating a team of Creatives and Producers into a new operating model capable of developing, managing, and delivering a range of content year-round. This will involve collaborating with project teams across departments to ensure Producers can successfully deliver large, complex content projects, as well as several small to mid-size projects. By instilling order within the team's processes, you will significantly contribute to fostering efficiency and accountability across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement robust project management processes to ensure the efficient workflow in content delivery. This entails responding to briefs from our Strategy Directorate (Fundraising, Funding, and Corporate Partnerships), who set the strategic direction, objectives, and target audiences. You will support our Production team to address various aspects of these briefs, including conceptual work, video content such as appeal films, photography, shoots, design assets, digital content, and more.

• Continuously improve, streamline and assess best processes and ways of working to seamlessly deliver content on time and within budget.

• Oversee the production of all shoots and content activations, implementing a critical path, and ensuring alignment with the Strategy Directorates and the vision of the creative teams.

• Co-create, build, and maintain the planning roadmap and critical paths (including sign-off processes) for the production team, aligning priorities with departmental budget and strategic objectives.

Essential criteria

· This role requires both creative and technical skills as well as human-centred people expertise. You should be expert in integrated marketing communication tools and techniques, but also expert at stakeholder management, as you will serve as the liaison for senior stakeholders within Strategy and within the production teams.

· Extensive and demonstrable experience in department and team management, as well as training & development.

We are excited to be recruiting for a new Communications Coordinator at Volunteer Centre Hackney who will play a key role in helping increase volunteering and grow strong thriving communities across Hackney. Using wide-ranging communications, you will be vital to reaching diverse people across the borough and building key partnerships to help people enjoy the benefits of our services - all of which hugely improve people's lives and bring people and communities together.

The Communications Co-ordinator will play a key role in helping to build, promote and retain VCH’s public profile with a diverse range of audiences, helping us to drive volunteer sign-ups in Hackney, and promote our services to a wide range of stakeholders.

We have recently launched a whole new website and branding, so this is an exciting time to join our team. We have started to work together with residents to make films and are making plans to increase both our reach into specific communities, as well as promote our impact to new funders and partners.

You will plan, write and distribute a range of content across the marketing mix including our website, blog, newsletters, social media and in print. This includes writing copy and sourcing imagery for VCH events and activities, creating regular e-bulletins, updating social media channels, creating content to share the impact of our work, as well as helping to promote outreach and other events and activities to various diverse communities. This will be done together with VCH staff and volunteers, who you will support to co-produce interesting content.

You will take the lead in developing and implementing regular communications campaigns that celebrate the diversity of, and our work with Hackney’s local communities. This will include targeted campaigns around a number of topic specific awareness days, as well as with and for specific communities, to increase our reach across diverse populations.

You will roll out our brand refresh across all our programmes, working together with VCH staff to ensure buy-in. You will be proactive to create new and interesting materials to promote our services and their impact to a wide range of stakeholders including new funders as well as partners, and will ensure all our social media channels and websites are updated.

Salary: £38,897 per annum

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week (Full-Time)

In the role as a Digital Lead, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our digital communications and presence. You will lead and manage digital projects, aligning them with Church Army’s mission and strategic goals.

Innovating and driving our digital strategy across various platforms you will be ensuring that we stay at the forefront of digital engagement enabling our fundraising efforts using the latest digital tools and methodologies.

You will be managing internal team members and external agency relationships to ensure effective delivery of digital projects aligning with Church Army’s mission and strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities 

• Oversee the Digital Project Manager and Social Media Officer, to enable effective delivery of digital projects and social media management.
• Manage Relationships with outsourced agencies including digital analysts, paid media and web developer roles to ensure cohesive digital strategies and execution.
• Develop and implement comprehensive digital strategies that grow new Church Army audiences.
• Collaborating with other teams and individuals in Church Army to integrate agile methodologies, ensure alignment of digital initiatives and using informed data to grow brand awareness and affinity.
• Being a pioneer for AI and oversee Church Army’s strategy and implementation of AI.
• Being a primary source of contact for outsourced digital agencies, ensuring clear communication and alignment with Church Army’s objectives.
• Oversee major digital projects such as website refreshes, working with internal and external agencies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

• Profound understanding of digital marketing strategies and digital content management.
• Familiarity with SEO, social media, content development, and email marketing.
• Knowledge of data analytics and its application to digital marketing effectiveness.
• A track record of successfully implementing innovative digital strategies that grow new audiences.
• Proven experience in leading digital teams and managing digital projects.

Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust is one of 46 local, independent Wildlife Trusts and is the charity that works to make the environment of Birmingham and the Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) a better place for wildlife and people through conservation management, environmental education, advocacy, and community involvement.

As a wildlife charity serving a heavily urbanised area, a major element of our work is to provide the ecological evidence that supports the designation of wildlife sites and informs the protection of nature in the face of urban development.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to nature’s protection and recovery in Birmingham and the Black Country. The post holder will undertake ecological survey and management planning work to underpin the protection of local wildlife of great value to people, communities and organisations across our region.

This will be a varied role that will include biodiversity survey and site assessment work, biodiversity net gain calculation, development of the Trust’s engagement with nature-based solutions, and advancing the organisation’s staff, members’, and partners’ understanding of urban ecology. You will have excellent ecological survey skills, and the confidence and ambition to affect conservation outcomes through the provision of high quality ecological evidence.
