Information Governance Manager

Birmingham

£37,000 (£29,600 pro rata)

30 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Information Governance Manager to join our team to help develop and improve how we manage data across the organisation.

Complying with Data Protection legislation and best practice, you will coordinate and lead on activities such as Subject Access Requests (SAR), and ensure we record and investigate data incidents, maintaining organisational compliance with the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing all data protection policies, ensuring robust reporting is in place and that we remain compliant with all current legislation. Meticulous and conscientious, you will encourage managers to gain a good understanding of the importance of GDPR and assist with designing and implementing new processes. As an expert in your field, you will develop audit processes to ensure organisational compliance with both Data Protection Laws, GDPR and Birmingham Mind’s own data protection policies and take the lead in investigating any data breaches.

We are looking for an excellent communicator with experience in a data protection role, who can define and develop processes and procedures. You’ll have gained experience of developing and managing data protection policies and investigating data protection breaches. With strong analytical skills and an excellent work ethic, you will be able to troubleshoot and resolve problems. As a key point of contact for the team, you will have an approachable and ‘can do’ attitude and be confident in dealing with a diverse range of people and enquiries in a professional and friendly manner whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Benefits include an attractive defined contribution pension scheme, Paycare which offers employees affordable cover for a range of healthcare treatments, an Employee Assistance Programme which includes free counselling and a comprehensive training programme.

Our people are key to the success of the organisation, and we are recognised as both a Mindful Employer as well as achieving Gold standard success in Investors in People. We welcome applications from people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
