About the role
The Director of Business Development and Partnerships (DBDP) leads work at the interface between EngineeringUK and the engineering and technology sector that we represent and serve. As a member of the Executive Team, the DBDP brings critical insight of the corporate world and ensures that our engagement activities are relevant to them, represent their breadth and that our research, analysis and policy work draws on current and real-world experience. The Director leads a team that maintains established relationships with businesses, PEIs and funders and builds new relationships, encouraging organisations to support our work through funding, the provision of content and holistic partnership opportunities.
The Business & Industry team consists of 11 colleagues working under 4 pillars:
- New partnerships
- Corporate relationships
- Trusts and foundations
- Professional institutions and partnerships.
The Director has 4 line-reports: 3 Heads and one Manager. Each team has a slightly different role in meeting the B&I team strategy, but all work collectively to ensure that key industry bodies and businesses are engaged with our work.
New partnerships. Engage new businesses with our portfolio of activities including corporate membership, EUK Education programmes, The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, policy, and other opportunities.
Corporate relationships. Responsible for account managing existing relationships with members, sponsors and funders including supporting STEM strategy development, organising peer-learning opportunities, upgrading membership/funding levels, networking them across EngineeringUK, and deepening engagement across multiple activities.
Trusts and foundations. Managing existing high-value partnerships with funders who support our programmes, engaging new funders to scale our work, working with other teams to develop compelling proposals and raise EngineeringUK’s profile in the grant-making space.
Professional institutions and partnerships. Coordinate engagement with PEIs across EngineeringUK, ensuring a consistent approach and maximising joint value from our partnership. Securing new partnerships (and then managing, renewing and cross-selling the relationship) with SME clusters.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, and as part of the Executive Team, the DBDP is expected to understand the governance requirements of charities and companies and work with the Board of EngineeringUK to support decision making.
The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK . We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. As the international partnerships and engagement manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of their international strategy. Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

What you'll do:
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Counselling Coordinator to work across the Greater Manchester footprint, working specifically with women. The post-holder will work alongside the Counselling & Psychotherapy Manager to support with the assessment and allocation of women for the appropriate therapeutic intervention. You will play an integral role in supporting and developing our service model, including recruitment, development and line management of volunteer and trainee therapists.
The post-holder will be part of our multi-disciplinary team and will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. You will work alongside the team to ensure safe and effective delivery of therapeutic interventions across the Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance. The NCD Alliance (NCDA) is a global civil society alliance of 400+ civil society members across 80 countries dedicated to supporting a world free from preventable suffering, disability and death caused by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Over 14 years, NCDA has built a reputation as a leading global advocacy organisation on NCDs, a global thought leader on NCD policy and practice, a convener and mobiliser of the NCD civil society movement, a partner to governments and the World Health Organization and other United Nations agencies, and an advocate for meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs. About the role
The Capacity Development unit seeks a Capacity Development Officer to support the implementation of the Advocacy Institute Regional track.
The NCD Advocacy Institute is a flagship Capacity Development initiative designed to strengthen NCD civil society to ensure a more effective NCD response. It consists of a multi-year partnership with organizations and alliances, supporting and strengthening the growth of NCD civil society across selected geographies. Its Seed track supports the establishment of NCD civil society networks in countries/regions where these are non-existent or young. The Accelerator track works with established NCD alliances to strengthen advocacy efforts where there are windows of opportunity for specific NCD policy change.
The Regional track focuses on strengthening regional NCD civil society in their coalition building and advocacy efforts with a key element of leading mobilisation and accountability efforts ahead of and in follow up to, the 2025 High Level Meeting on NCDs. The track supports regional alliances in Africa, Caribbean, Eastern Mediterranean, Latin America and South East Asia and includes a mix of grant support, tailored technical assistance, access to relevant training opportunities (Seed, Accelerator, different thematic tracks according to the capacity needs and strategic interests of each alliance), networking and knowledge exchange opportunities across other regions. The track also focuses on enhancing the role of regional NCD alliances in the capacity building of national NCD alliances in the region and pays special attending to building close linkages with Our Views Our Voices Initiative. A key element of this track is to build effective connections between national, regional and global advocacy efforts and maximise global and regional advocacy opportunities in the lead up, and in follow up, to the 2025 UN High Level Meeting on NCDs.
The Regional Advocacy track aims to:
·Strengthen the organisational capacity of regional alliances as an enabler for effective advocacy, supporting coalition building, strengthening organisational processes and governance structures;
·Support strategic advocacy and accountability efforts led by regional alliances, strengthening linkages between global, regional and national advocacy levels, maximising global advocacy milestones, particularly the 2025 UN High level Meeting on NCDs;
·Promote and support the role of regional NCD alliances in mobilising NCD civil society and national alliances in the region, and the role of regional NCD alliance in supporting regional networks as such.
The Capacity Development Officer will play a key role in the implementation of the Regional track by supporting coalition-building efforts, strengthening regional advocacy initiatives, and enhancing the capacity of NCD alliances to drive policy change. This includes providing grant administration support, facilitating technical assistance, and ensuring effective knowledge exchange between regional and national alliances. Additionally, the officer will contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts, gathering key insights on local conditions and advocacy opportunities to inform tailored capacity development support.

NCDA seeks applicants with suitable experience and background for a full-time role as Capacity Development Officer. This position reports to the UK-based Capacity Development Manager. This position is possible thanks to NCD Alliance’s partnerships with Bloomberg Philanthropies and is subject to yearly renewal. The role is based in London, UK, and is open to UK citizens and other applicants who already possess a valid work authorisation. NCDA will not sponsor visa applications. The Capacity Development Officer would be mainly home-based/remote with the expectation of working from the London office 1 day a week.
Core responsibilities
•Support the roll out of the Advocacy Institute’s Regional track, by strengthening regional coalition-building and advocacy efforts, enhancing the capacity of regional NCD alliances to drive policy change and accountability.

•International work experience is highly desired, as well as professional knowledge and/or experience of advocacy, policy and/or programmes.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner drives the P&C operational effectiveness in Country Offices, facilitates organisational development and change and provides a framework for best people’s practice and quality standards. Operational delivery (30%)

If you are right for this role, you will be a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual who wants to support the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, working in a partnership capacity as part of a holistic health and wellbeing programme. Your role will be multi-faceted, and you will therefore be flexible and able to offer a variety of SRH interventions in a broad range of settings, to a broad range of young people.
First, you will provide brief interventions in sexual health in an outreach capacity at schools, colleges, universities, leisure centres, youth organisations, and other venues. Here, your primary focus will be to provide basic information about SRH to young people, whilst also encouraging them to complete a Chlamydia screen and register to the free condom scheme. You will also promote online testing for those aged over 18, and connect young people with other local sexual health services through referral and signposting.
Second, you will deliver SRH and relationships training to groups of young people and professionals, in smaller workshop settings as well as to larger groups. You will be able to deliver accurate information on a variety of topics that are often sensitive and complex. You will have an existing knowledge base that you will be willing to expand and solidify through a combination of supported training and independent learning.
Third, you will facilitate offsite drop-in sexual health sessions and offer 1:1 sexual health support to young people who attend any of the four Young Greenwich youth groups. You and your team will each be responsible for attending the four Young Greenwich hubs once each week during evening hours, working closely with the youth group leader as well as the young people themselves to establish trusted relationships and an engaging programme of activity. You will be proactive and creative at integrating sexual health to other, ongoing activities, and ensure effective safeguarding.
Additionally, you will work closely with the wider SHO team, including supporting the sexual health phone lines processing screening results, and where necessary, signposting to relevant services. Across all aspects of your role, you promote local sexual health and contraception services to young people and adults alike, referring to in-person or online services as appropriate and handholding as much or as little as needed, particularly to those most vulnerable. You will keep accurate monitoring records for all interactions, referrals, Chlamydia screens, and C Card registrations / distributions. You will also contribute to quarterly service review reports.

Key Responsibilities
Oversight of the Spear Programme
Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions plus a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Oversee all aspects of the programme coordination and delivery.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report to Resurgo and the church on enrolment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees, as well as their ongoing progress.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Build and implement a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with local referral partners to build the profile of the Spear programme within Ipswich and ensure the young people who would benefit from the programme are able to access it.
- Steward relationships with young people after initial point of contact, to encourage enrolment and ensure a full cohort is enrolled for each programme.
Line management and training
- Manage the Spear Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Work with and be managed by River Church staff locally, and by a Church Partnerships Manager from Resurgo on a national level, to ensure the flourishing of the Spear centre, its team and young people, and to ensure the fulfilment of our shared mission in Ipswich.
- Work with and report to Resurgo teams on KPIs, and use outcomes data to maximise the effectiveness of the programme.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- Establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement of church members and to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
- Work with the Head of Operations and the Fundraising Assistant to prepare grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Keep the River Church congregation updated on the Spear programme to ensure it is a seamless part of the church’s missional work.
