We’re looking for someone who wants to join our busy charity to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives. With experience in bookkeeping and financial administration, you will love numbers (and spreadsheets), have great attention to detail and be an excellent communicator.  Working closely with the Director, you will be responsible for the administration of the Charity’s finances, including lots of different projects, accounts and a wide variety of transactions. You will lead on tasks including:

• Weekly - invoice processing, payments, petty cash, bank deposits and reconciliation etc
• Monthly - compiling monthly payroll, creating management accounts/financial reports, supporting Project Managers with financial analysis, and reporting to Director/Trustees
• Annual – preparing budgets, submitting financial returns, reporting at the Annual General Meeting, and working with the accountancy firm to complete the financial audit.
• Ad hoc –financial support for Farm Events, developing budgets and other enquiries.

As a member of the Farm’s Operational Management team, you will support the organisation with financial insights and guidance to help us develop the charity, remain sustainable and achieve our mission.

• Contract type: Permanent 
• Salary: Salary between £33,024 and £36,648 depending on experience.
• Hours of work: 28 hours per week (with some flexibility for the right candidate, but not less than 21 hours per week) largely undertaken between 9 - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of special educational needs and disability (SEND) law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

IPSEA has a proven track record of successfully securing grants, and this is a new role designed to help strengthen and grow IPSEA’s income from charitable Trusts and Foundations. The Governance and Risk Officer (GRO) will provide support to the Head of Governance & Risk by providing administrative and organisational support in all areas of governance and risk by implementing and maintaining risk assurance activities, including the corporate risk registers, policy management, contract review and internal audit delivery.

The GRO will aid in the creation of an assurance function to manage governance, risk and adherence to policies and procedures, and will also support with the administration of the charity’s committees, both at executive and trustee level.

• Involved in ensuring the charity is keeping to the highest standards of corporate governance, and identifying, implementing and tracking changes to procedures to help drive improvements.

This is an opportunity to take on a new leadership position in a unique educational charity. As part of our succession planning, Number Champions is recruiting a CEO to take on all management of the charity and to help the board define and deliver its strategy. This will be our most senior staff position.

Background - Number Champions

We train volunteers to use games and other creative activities in primary schools in one-to-one sessions with children to help them gain confidence and skills in maths. This support helps put children on track to achieve their full potential in a world where numeracy is a vital building block. Over half the children we support are from disadvantaged backgrounds, which is where the need is greatest.

Founded in 2018, we have already helped over 1,500 children. We now have 115 volunteers running weekly sessions. This year they are helping 334 children in 38 partner schools across London, and we plan to continue to grow organically every year to support more children.

Our vision is not just that we grow in scale, but that through our example other organisations copy our model, and that eventually all primary school children will have access to volunteer support in maths.

CEO role

The CEO will be a new permanent role, reporting to our founder Chair and to the board of trustees. You will take on all aspects of managing our award-winning charity and drive the board process of setting and delivering strategy. This will include financial management of the charity and involvement in fundraising. This is in the context of our succession plan, whereby our Chair will hand over the executive responsibilities which he currently exercises on a pro bono basis. This is to allow us to recruit a new Chair within two years.

You will line manage the Head of Operations - our current senior employee, who manages our other two staff. The role will be part time for the equivalent of 3 days a week.

Location

You will work mainly remotely, although you will be expected to attend periodic meetings in London. We therefore require candidates to live within commuting distance of Central London, giving maximum flexibility for both the employee and the charity.

Manage day-to-day app activity

• Review and manage business ‘offers’ and charity ‘needs’

Key Responsibilities: 

Fundraising:

• Conduct research on potential funding opportunities and grant applications 

• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns 

• Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, providing reports and recommendations 

• Assist with online fundraising campaigns, including online donation platforms 

• Research and implement new ways of building individual giving 

• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donor information. 

• Assist with the preparation of fundraising materials.

Bid-writing:

Job Purpose

As our Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the organisation, you will be a key person ensuring that our financial data is complete and accurate, overseeing reporting to our programme funders and our international network, and ensuring best practice in all aspects of financial management. Key responsibilities

Ensure the integrity of financial data and controls, including budgeting, forecasting, Treasury and cash flow management

· Prepare data ready for monthly accounts, reports, and financial statements. This will include the normal monthly journals, reconciliations, and checks

· Liaise as necessary with colleagues in Habitat for Humanity’s international network for reporting and efficient transmission of funds to overseas affiliates

· Good summarising and communication skills with the ability to influence colleagues and senior leaders
