- Work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to empower and meet the needs of clients.
- Referring vulnerable clients to trusted law firms where needed and supporting them through their legal case.
- Undertaking direct advocacy on behalf of vulnerable clients, on issues such as housing,debt, ombudsman appeals, DVLA and benefits appeals.
- Empower clients to engage with other third sector advice organisations, such as their local law centre and Citizens Advice Bureaux.
- Work with our Service Manager to develop bespoke advocacy pathways for victims of Domestic Abuse.

About this key role

This multi-faceted role will see our successful candidate produce monthly management accounts for St Giles Trust with commentary and key performance indicators, monitor and report on budget and prepare financial forecasts and projections, plus prepare monthly schedules such as deferred income, accruals, and prepayment in accordance with accounting policies.

We will also count on you to monitor expenditure and income and support budget holders in managing the delegated budget by providing monthly reports on income, grant, and expenditure and to monitor the organisation’s expenditure and income, as well as supporting managers with the preparation of funders’ monthly or quarterly reports on fund usage.  Coordinating the year-end financial accounts and supporting the Head of Finance to ensure a smooth process and being point of contact for all financial systems related matters are also key aspects of the role.

What we are looking for

• Experience of in-year reporting and monitoring key performance indicators

• Experience of working with non-finance managers on financial issues

• Experience of managing the payroll process

• Experience of preparing management accounts returns for funders, reconciling fundraising figures to budgets/actuals on financial systems

• Strong accounting technical knowledge (debits, credit, accruals, deferred income, etc)

• Ability to use Exchequer or similar financial system and experience of Sage 50 Payroll or similar payroll software

• Ability to explain technical accounting terms to non-finance managers

The Fundraiser will play a key role in raising funds and awareness for the Friends of Bereaved Families Forum, a UK charity established to support the work of the Parents' Circle in Israel and Palestine. 

This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fundraiaser will work in close consultation with the Chair, Trustees and with members of the Steering Committee in carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's goals. Develop strategies to expand, enhance and cultivate the current donor base. Set targets for fundraising and report against targets.
• Identify new donors and cultivate existing donors. seek new sources of funding such as charitable foundations and trusts. Submit grant applications and reports, as needed.
• Develop and maintain database of donors and donations.
• Constantly follow PCFF activities, projects, achievements, and evolving content matter. Work closely with the PCFF Israeli-Palestinian fundraising team to address needs and identify opportunities.
• Organisation of speaking visits to the UK by PCFF representatives. Plan programme of events and manage relevant arrangements, bookings, etc. Designing and executing a programme of awareness-raising and fundraising events, marketing, and alumni engagement.
• Maintain and increase FBFF’s media presence – in Jewish, Christian, Muslim and national press.
• Field general queries from external groups and individuals.
• Newsletter - produce and distribute periodic written/visual material about FBFF activities for the newsletter and translating/adapt relevant PCFF materials for UK audiences. Constantly increase distribution and readership.
• Constant update of social media and website – [may work with website maintainer on improving design]
• Steering Committee - set up and attend meetings, prepare agendas, reports, minutes, and other relevant documentation – and work closely with members to initiate and develop activities.

Due to expanding projects and workloads, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator and Personal Assistant to the Senior Development Manager within our Transforming Churches and Communities (TCC) team.

The role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our fast-growing Fundraising Team, and leading our new business efforts by identifying, cultivating and securing new corporate partnerships at the six and seven-figure level as well as playing an active part in the wider team’s endeavours to secure and uplift our corporate partnerships.

You will report to our Director of Development and will manage and grow our relationships with like-minded businesses across multiple industries to generate income and engage new audiences for the Childhood Trust to achieve our strategic goals.

· Build cases for support to engage funders. · Identify corporate partnership opportunities. This will involve conducting research to manage and grow a pipeline of corporate partnerships opportunities worth £50k+ and/or with significant media and communications value.

· Develop cultivation plans for key prospects and target industries to increase support for the Childhood Trust.

· Proactively approach and build new relationships with corporates, securing and attending meetings.

· Develop and deliver high quality communications to secure new corporate partnerships. For example, this could include brochures, proposals, and pitches which communicate the charity’s work, strategy, and a case for why companies should support the Childhood Trust.

· Work collaboratively with the Account Management team to embed new partnerships to ensure they are managed appropriately.

· Contribute to setting the annual budget and carrying out regular review of the pipeline

· Contribute to the ongoing development and execution of The Childhood Trust’s strategic goals.

The Digital Content Manager for our Marketing and Communications capability will focus and lead on developing exciting and informative digital content across RNID’s programmes and audiences with a focus on our website. In this role, you’ll be building new and exciting content in a growing charity for fast moving campaigns to different audiences. This is a job share role on a flexible remote working basis which offers the opportunity to fit work around caring or other responsibilities.  

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and delivering website content plans across all the charity’s campaigns and projects.
• Drafting news story blogs, research panel opportunities, case studies and other stories.
• Ensuring our content strategy is informed by the best possible insight by designing and sharing effective monitoring and evaluation of our digital campaigns and content
• Working closely with our digital team to create user led and accessible content 
• Acting as a key link with corporate / campaign partners to plan campaigns and co-develop messaging and materials
• Supporting Brand & Marketing team’s audience and brand development objectives.
• Providing support for our targeted email content to our different audiences

You are an experienced digital content professional, confident in working across a wide range of topics, audiences and channels to create compelling, engaging web and digital content. You understand the importance of brand and the most effective tactics needed to build a strong one. You are a strong communicator and can craft the right content for different channels and audiences including having strong copy-writing skills for digital channels. A familiarity with wordpress and other website platforms is a plus.

You have the personal experience and confidence to shape and manage and act as a key contributor to projects and campaigns from their inception to delivery.  

You have great interpersonal skills that allow you to influence internal and external stakeholders effectively. The Talent Set are delighted to be working with Barnardo’s to find their Media & Communications Lead in Northern Ireland. This is a part time role (job share) working 2.5 days per week.

Barnardo’s offer a flexible working environment, ideally working 1 day per week from their Belfast office, and the ability to travel around Northern Ireland occasionally.

The Media & Communications Lead will work collaboratively within the media team, other departments and localities to promote the work of Barnardo’s across the UK Celtic nations and English Regions, including to generate coverage to support our core children’s services delivery; fundraising, retail, and commercial activity; and policy and influencing messaging to help deliver the national media strategy. 

You will develop and implement an integrated media communications strategy, using a range of communications channels including regional/local media, online, social media and video. As well as delivering high quality proactive and reactive communications to promote and protect the profile and reputation of Barnardo’s, working closely with locality leads and the regional/nation director.

Key Responsibilities:

· Secure positive coverage on broadcast, in print and online media outlets within the region/nation.

· Provide media and PR communications support to English regions/Celtic nations in line with the overall approach set by national leads including: acting as brand guardian.

· Take a creative and innovative approach to communications, actively considering all channels when story planning, particularly online.

· Work with media colleagues, other teams and localities staff to co-ordinate media messages.

· Develop and maintain relationships with local/regional/nations key journalists to create a positive image and raise awareness of Barnardo’s.

· Actively gather case studies across strategic priority areas with a focus on ensuring usability in multiple formats (e.g. written, broadcast, video, audio).

· Write media statements to use reactively as appropriate.

· Use the media team’s reputation management process to prepare for potentially critical or damaging news stories.

· Draft media releases, statements, letter to the editors and other articles for publication to support Barnardo’s key campaigns and strategic priorities.

· Deliver an efficient press office, responding to journalist enquiries and requests in a timely, precise and appropriate manner, participating in a regions’ and nations’ media team rota system to support the flow of reactive media enquiries.

 

Person Specification:

· Knowledge, experience and understanding of issues affecting Northern Ireland.

· Knowledge of the media and proven success in achieving positive coverage in a range of relevant media.

· Experience in a high profile, fast-paced media team, press office or public relations function. 

· Excellent experience writing press releases, stories, and communications plans.

· Proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential issues.

· Familiarity with a range of IT systems.

Grants and Trusts Manager

We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to join our Fundraising team and lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies.

Position: Grants and Trusts Manager

Location: Burnt Oak, London. This is a hybrid position, though for an exceptional candidate we may consider fully-remote

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum FTE (pro rata-ed depending on number of days a week the successful candidate contracts to)

Hours: Permanent, 4 days a week (32 hours, 0.8 FTE). Hours worked are flexible and certainly you are not tied to “9-5”. We will also consider applications from someone wishing to work 3 days a week (24 hours, 0.6 FTE)

About the role:

A part of the Fundraising team, as Grants and Trusts Manager you will lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies. You will line manage the Grants and Trusts Officer, and will need to develop strong relationships with the Delivery team, so you can match their funding needs to the right funder and get the right information from them to ensure a high quality of reporting.

Other key responsibilities will include:

· Overseeing a pipeline of grants and trusts applications, re-applications and reporting

· Working closely with the Delivery team to ensure the right bids are being submitted

· Working with the Impact and Insight Officer to shape monitoring and evaluation strategy and practice

· Leading tours and face-to-face and online meetings with Foundation staff and Trustees

· Working within the broader Fundraising team, supporting colleagues and department-wide projects

About you:

To be successful in the role of Grants and Trusts Manager you will have experience of trust and grant bid writing within a professional setting.

You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

· Produce compelling asks and proposals in line with the charity's objectives and the funders requirements

· Experience of gathering, understanding and presenting complex information and data

· Experience of working within a charity fundraising environment

· Experience of cultivating relationships with funders, both via verbal and written methods of communication

· Ability to prioritise tasks, manage own time and achieve strict / multiple deadlines

· High level of IT competence, excellent internet research skills and database management

· Motivated to improve young people’s lives for the better
