We're looking for an analytical thinker to join our Facilitation and Planning team as Facilitation and Planning Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract, to cover an internal secondment.

You'll work as part of a team who are responsible for planning and scheduling of all events, conferences and one-to-one sessions across our programme suite. The team recruit and support expert faculty to ensure our programmes are delivered to the highest quality in order to enrich participant learning.

Your main role will be to work within the Facilitation and Planning team, supporting with the development of our online system to auto-generate events. You'll  be responsible for setting up reporting and monitoring processes to support our optimisation of facilitators, and work closely with other internal programme stakeholders to oversee the creation of new policies and processes such as our Quality Assurance and development offer.

You'll play a crucial role in supporting the Facilitation and Planning Manager with external recruitment for our expert external consultants.

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

• Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
• Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
• Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;
• Advising staff travelling overseas on potential risks;
• Managing the lone worker safety devices used by the NCIs;
• Administering our Health Cash Plan scheme;
• Day to day administration of our Health & Safety reporting system;
• Assisting in the preparation of Health & Safety reports e.g., the Joint Staff Council and Health and Safety forum.

As an adviser within the HR Operations team, you will also get involved in responding to other types of HR queries via email, phone and Teams chat, and supporting colleagues in using our Oracle Employee and Manager self-service.

This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London. We typically work from the office at least one day per week, and remote for the remainder of the time. Visits to other NCI work locations may also be required from time to time.

You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).

We're looking for someone who has:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accuracy and attention to detail including with numerical data. You will need to be able to communicate clearly to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
• An enthusiastic and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information. You will need to be able to work comfortably with competing priorities and show flexibility in your approach to customers to understand differing expectations.

An interest in and willingness to learn broader HR policies and processes. Experience in HR in addition to Health & Safety would be an advantage.

What's the Job?

LSESU is looking for a dynamic and proactive Sports Coordinator to join our Sports and Recreation team. As the primary point of contact, you will offer support and guidance to Sports Clubs and the Athletics Union (AU), empowering student leaders to create an outstanding experience for all members.
 

In this role, you’ll coordinate and develop Sports Clubs with a strong focus on inclusivity, health and safety, and the effective planning of fixtures, activities, and events. You’ll manage the logistics behind BUCS and LUSL fixtures, as well as plan and oversee Sports Club showcases, trips, and other major events.
 

You’ll work closely with both staff and student volunteers, contributing to the strategic and operational planning of the Sports and Recreation Team. Your role will directly impact the student experience at LSE, ensuring the smooth delivery of a wide range of student sport provisions, from facilitating impactful training for student leaders to overseeing the seamless execution of key events and sports fixtures.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual who is passionate about student sport and physical activity. You should be able to work independently, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage a diverse range of audiences—from student volunteers to external partners.
 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, a methodical approach to administration, and the ability to solve problems creatively. While experience working with student-led sports clubs or societies, supporting volunteers, and a solid understanding of BUCS and LUSL fixtures is ideal, it’s not essential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Signposting and Collection Session Coordinator as part of our Foodbank team. This new role will provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to people accessing the Foodbank, delivering Foodbank collection sessions and developing our remote and in-person signposting and support for those accessing the Foodbank. This is a fast-faced, person-centered role, having a direct impact on the lives of local people experiencing hardship

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Providing operational support to Foodbank collection centres in host venues across Lambeth and Croydon
• Providing and developing wraparound support to those accessing the Foodbank
• Delivering and developing in-person and remote signposting
• Working with volunteers, partner organisations and host venues to provide effective and efficient support through collection sessions and beyond

The successful post holder must have:

• Proven experience of working or volunteering within a not-for-profit organisation/other food bank
• Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs
• Excellent communication skills

Managing Director, Home-Start Wandsworth (HSW)

The Role:

The Managing Director sets the vision and strategy for HSW. They lead on income generation and profile raising; working with local stakeholders, building partnerships, and growing funding relationships to achieve that.  Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the MD will set annual objectives alongside long term goals - whilst providing vision and leadership to the team. The role will ensure operational excellence, providing direction & coaching when needed, to deliver innovation, sustainability & compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Set the overall strategy, vision and annual objectives for the organisation, alongside the Board of Trustees.
• Be accountable for the overall performance of the organisation and leadership of the team, including guidance and coaching for direct reports.
• Develop and deliver a robust and sustainable funding strategy 
• Develop and deliver the long-term grant funding strategy, leading the bidding process for the organisation. Give strategic direction to the Operations Manager, as required, on progress reporting  to grant funders.
• Develop and drive the community fundraising strategy for the charity working with relevant members of the team and Trustee committee members. Build local partnerships with businesses, schools and churches to increase regular giving. 
• Actively champion and contribute to fundraising events - and generate ideas for new activity. 
• Manage key strategic partnerships, relationships and donors on an ongoing basis to ensure income, volunteer and referral pipelines are maintained to optimise the organisation’s impact. 
• Working with the Operations lead, ensure the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. 
• Provide regular performance and progress reports to the board as requested  and ensure the charity is compliant with all HSUK policies and procedures. 
• Set and manage the annual operational budget, and ensure the effective management of all HSW resources, IT provision and operational contracts. 

Additional responsibilities: 

• Develop and advocate for the profile of the organisation within the borough and represent it to relevant bodies, including HSUK and HSL, taking an active role in working groups.  Act as an ambassador and embodiment of the organisation’s values. 
• Deliver the annual impact report alongside the Communications Manager. 
• Ensure the completion of all Operational HSUK Quality Assurance assessments.
• Be accountable for safeguarding in the operational team, working closely with the Safeguarding lead, who is responsible for delivery.
• Act as the Data Protection officer for the organisation. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Management experience of small/medium teams in the voluntary sector. 
• Proven track record of success in charity fundraising and grant application processes. 
• Experience of strategy conceptualisation and delivery- including leading others or working collaboratively to develop strategic & operational plans. 
• Successful experience of stakeholder, network or partnership working.
• Understanding of current legislation and regulatory frameworks for babies, children and families.

This new role will lead on individual giving and events fundraising for Oasis Hub Waterloo with a focus on securing funds for Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank and our associated advice services. This role focusses on raising funds for Bowel Research UKs medical research projects and work that focuses on patient and public involvement. Funds raised will be a mix of restricted project funding and unrestricted funds that can support the organisations core operations.

You will need to work closely with colleagues in Research and Patient & Public Involvement to ensure you have a strong understanding of current funding needs and research successes. You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.

The role will include researching relevant opportunities, identifying the most appropriate projects, writing and submitting applications and ensuring excellent donor management, development and reporting. Trusts and Foundations income is a cornerstone of Bowel Research UKs charitable income each year and is responsible for around a third of fundraised income. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. You will develop relationships with ease and feel able to positively influence colleagues at all levels of an organisation. The position requires someone with a positive attitude who is determined and resilient.
