DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace. The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.
You will be required to identify opportunities to develop and grow DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area with the aim of supporting the organisation to ensure that as many people as need it have access to DFN Project SEARCH programmes.
In addition, you will be required to develop strategies to ensure that the operational programmes in your area are achieving at least the average outcomes expected for young people in our programmes and so you must be committed to continuous improvement.
You will be specifically required to develop strong partnerships and train and support colleagues within your area. You may also be required to support colleagues promoting DFN Project SEARCH in other areas, further European projects as required and contribute to the development of relevant UK focussed materials.
As a Programme Specialist you will be expected to:
- Demonstrate effective project planning and preparation so that each project delivers achieves the highest quality programme possible and outstanding employment outcomes for the interns.
- Establish effective working relationships with schools, colleges, local authorities, employers and the project professional staff to promote the building of excellent, high quality partnerships at each site to ensure the effective running of programmes and promote sustainability in a volatile environment.

We have 13 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of schools and local authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually.
As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. These tutors provide pastoral care and work with pupils to increase engagement and attainment. Role Overview:
The Partnerships Administrator will be an integral part of our Partnerships team, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team.

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.
We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.
Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.
The ability to work with external partners, the wider team of HWDT staff and boat crew to deliver project outcomes and a genuine interest in cetaceans and marine conservation is essential. An understanding of the workings of a charity/NGO would be an advantage.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,000 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 140 local and national businesses. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively as part of an integral, multi-disciplinary team addressing the physical, emotional and social needs of children and young people who may be neurodivergent, as well as their families using the service

Speech and Language Therapist

The Role
The Speech and Language Therapist at the Education Hub will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for children and young people affected by the Grenfell Tragedy. The therapist will conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools, including formal standardised assessments, observational analysis and dynamic assessment approaches to evaluate speech, language and communication needs.
You will:
• To work on a 1:1 and group basis with children and young people and provide a high level of expertise to develop students’ speech, language and communication skills.
• To give advice, information and support to enable parents/carers and schools to promote the development of speech, language and communication skills.
• To work with families to equip them with the knowledge and skills to create supportive home environments that meet their child’s specific needs.

About You
• UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with a license to practice.

• Extensive knowledge of principles in effective working with families and schools and

About the organisation:
The Grenfell 'Education Hub' will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children and young people, their families, and local schools.
A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’. This will comprise a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. We train volunteers to use games and other creative activities in primary schools in one-to-one sessions with children to help them gain confidence and skills in maths. This support helps put children on track to achieve their full potential in a world where numeracy is a vital building block. Founded in 2018, we have already helped over 1,500 children. We now have 115 volunteers running weekly sessions. This year they are helping 334 children in 38 partner schools across London, and we plan to continue to grow organically every year to support more children.

CEO role
The CEO will be a new permanent role, reporting to our founder Chair and to the board of trustees. You will take on all aspects of managing our award-winning charity and drive the board process of setting and delivering strategy. This will include financial management of the charity and involvement in fundraising. This is in the context of our succession plan, whereby our Chair will hand over the executive responsibilities which he currently exercises on a pro bono basis. This is to allow us to recruit a new Chair within two years.
You will line manage the Head of Operations - our current senior employee, who manages our other two staff. The role will be part time for the equivalent of 3 days a week.
Location

The role and your key responsibilities
As a Senior Account Manager, your role is to line manage a regional team of Account Managers to maximise partner engagement and ensure we retain sky-high resubscription rates. You will manage your regional team’s objectives and regularly monitor and report on progress towards this.

The charity would like to increase our digital footprint by 50% and in order to do this we need a highly motivated communications lead to boost our profile. You will create and deliver a marketing, press and social media strategy, to increase both the reach of our work and awareness of harmful practices. You will build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including journalists, influencers and ambassadors to raise our visibility in both English and international languages in UK press, manage all our platforms and create digital content. Person Specification

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of education. We need to inspire and connect with education leaders across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.
Key Responsibilities
We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around education to reduce violence, including launching our new Education, Children and Violence Guidance in May 2024 which provides school, college and alternative provision leaders with five evidence-based recommendations to help prevent children’s involvement in violence. We also have our Toolkit, annual Children, Violence and Vulnerability Report and new implementation resources due next year. But the big risk is that we publish these resources and nothing changes. That’s where you come in.
Your role is to help us ensure more senior education leaders within schools, colleges and alternative provision settings use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

- Managing our new online digital self-assessment tool for sector leaders, driving awareness and engagement with education leaders and refining and optimising the system in collaboration with the software developers.
- Synthesizing and analysing data from the self-assessment tool, using findings to produce value insights reports for YEF and the sector.
- Creating implementation resources which respond to need and support education leaders to put evidence into practice.
- Continuing to develop a strong understanding of education practice and policy across England and Wales.
- Working out other effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen, from regular virtual learning events to presentations.

You must have this sort of experience
- Delivering positive change within education: You have significant experience of working with education leaders to support the development and improvement or practice.
- Working as a senior leader within the education sector, preferably in a role/setting specifically working with young people who are vulnerable to or involved in violence.

Hybrid Working

Job title: Fundraising Manager
Type of contract: Fixed term contract – 12 months – with scope of extending this
Hours of work: 14 hours per week (between Monday and Thursday to be arranged with the line manager)
Location: preferably at the Borderlands office at The Assisi Centre, Lawfords Gate, Bristol or hybrid. However, we will consider applications for remote work
Salary: FTE £35,235 - £38,626 (£14,094 - £15,450.40 pro rata) depending on experience, plus contributory pension scheme
Annual leave: 10 days A/L per annum (excluding bank holidays)

Personal Outlook: The post-holder must have a strong commitment to the voluntary sector and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of asylum seekers and refugees. This role is suited for someone target – driven, with excellent writing skills and great attention to detail. They will be working closely with the CEO, an external fundraiser, the Welcome Centre and Operations Lead, as well as our Finance, Admin and Communications officer. The post holder will be responsible for building on a strong foundation of support from Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies, will cultivate and develop strong relationships with grant-givers to grow our income and support our organisational aims.
About Borderlands fundraising: So far Borderlands’ grant fundraising work has been led by a freelance fundraiser working 3-4 days a month (“Grants and Trusts Fundraiser” in the organisational chart). The Fundraising Manager will work in partnership with them and divide the role and responsibilities according to experience and capacity. Currently, most of our income is from grants; our key funders include the Henry Smith Charity, Garfield Weston Foundation, John James Foundation, Bristol Impact Fund and Nisbet Trust. This is the first time Borderlands is recruiting for an in-house fundraiser role. In addition to working on grant applications and reports, the manager will support the Finance, Admin and Communication Officer with local giving and developing corporate partnerships.
