We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital.
The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Whilst you don’t have to be financially qualified, we do need someone with strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively. You will have experience in implementing new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving organisational change. The post holder will have a good understanding of regulation and best practice alongside the ability to develop efficient processes and controls in line with our governance framework. Ensuring that people are at the centre of the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) you will play a key role within the Executive team supporting the charity to achieve sustainable growth and delivery of efficient and effective services ensuring plans are developed and implemented, and targets are met.
You will have a passion for our purpose, commitment to our mission and alignment with our organisational values. Whilst being robust about process, you need to be able to flex to changing circumstances and be skilled at getting the best out of people as well as driving a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

As the lead moderator, you'll ensure all online interactions are positive, timely, and aligned with our brand voice, helping to build and nurture long-term relationships with our supporters.
Working alongside the Senior Social Media Officer, you will develop creative and engaging content that resonates with our audience, track social media performance, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure Blue Cross’s social media strategy is cohesive and effective. You will also produce reports and valuable insights from platforms such as Sprout Social, which will guide future campaigns and improve audience engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing Blue Cross’s social media presence across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube, TikTok).
- Leading community management and moderation, ensuring positive, timely interactions with followers.
- Managing relationships with third-party moderation agencies, ensuring they uphold Blue Cross’s voice and positions across channels.
- Developing and curating engaging social media content that brings our pets' stories to life and supports rehoming appeals.
- Collaborating with the Senior Social Media Officer to create content, write scripts, and schedule posts while reacting to emerging social issues and trends.
- Tracking social media performance using tools like Sprout Social and producing reports with insights into community engagement, content performance, and social media trends to inform future campaigns.
- Working with teams across Blue Cross (including Customer Care, Media, and Public Affairs) to ensure our social media content aligns with our overall communication strategy.
About You
We’re looking for a passionate, self-motivated individual who thrives on creating content that engages and excites our online community. You’ll have experience moderating and managing social media communities, producing high-quality content, and using social media management tools (at Blue Cross we use Sprout Social) to track and measure success.
You will be a natural communicator with excellent organisational skills and a keen attention to detail. You’ll also be adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work. Understanding what resonates with audiences and adapting your content to meet the needs of our followers will be key in this role.
A genuine passion for animal welfare is essential, and your ability to write warm, engaging content will ensure Blue Cross maintains its reputation as a trusted voice in the sector.

Barnardo's are recruiting several practitioners to be involved in the delivery of an innovative project to introduce a new parenting intervention to address youth violence into the UK.
We are looking for enthusiastic practitioners with experience of working with young people and their families preferably within the context of serious youth violence. They should be passionate about improving outcomes for young people who are at risk of serious youth violence, through positive support of their parents. Your focus will be on working in a team to deliver the GEN PMTO programme (following full training). It is essential the integrity of the programme material is maintained so it will be crucial to attend all training and to abide by the course material outlines. Gathering feedback, outcomes and impact will be a central part of the role as this information will be pivotal in determining the impact of the programme. About the role
The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for executing Pro Bono Economics’ (PBE) fundraising strategy under the Director of Development’s guidance. We are seeking one candidate, who has proven experience of delivering support and training services for vulnerable adults, such as in the mental health or addiction sectors. Experience either serving in the military or working with Veterans is important for this role. The Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator will supervise and work with voluntary Peer Supporters, ensuring a safe and effective network of support is established.
The post holder will work alongside the Head of Peer Support services to oversee recruitment and training of Peer Supporters, assess for additional support needs and personal development goals, and ensure that they are adequately prepared and trained for the role. Thereafter, the Peer Aid Co-ordinator will manage cohorts of Peer Supporters and monitor and evaluate their engagement with referred service users. Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Development and delivery
• Be an ambassador for peer support and mutual aid.
• Work with the team to design, develop and deliver training.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensure all environments whether office, remote or electronic are safe and secure.
• Recruit volunteer Peer Supporters.
• Provide regular supervision and support to Peer Supporters both individually and in group sessions.
• Deliver training to Peer Supporters.
• Assist in the assessment of coursework for Peer Supporters
• Ensure services are delivered safely and effectively.
• Input into all relevant data systems to assist in the delivery and evaluation of the service.
• Represent the organisation at events, seminars and meetings.
• Provide collaborative working with partner agencies.
Health and safety responsibilities
• Assist with the day to day running of the service, ensuring the safety of all using the service.
• Ensure that health and safety, diversity and equality policies are upheld.
General
• Attend regular supervision sessions with the Head of Peer Support services.
• To operate with clear professional and confidentiality boundaries and work within the organisation’s code of conduct.
• To carry out other duties commensurate with the post.

An exciting opportunity to join the Rank Foundation team in London or Penrith as Alumni Development Officer through the Time to Shine leadership programme. This new post has been created to support the development and implementation of a range of activities to engage and connect with the Rank Fellows to foster long lasting relationships. The postholder will play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships between the Foundation and its alumni community.
The position is offered on a 12-month, full time basis, and the postholder must be able to join early January. The post-holder will be part of the Rank Foundation’s Time to Shine (T2S) leadership programme. As part of the Time to Shine 2025 Cohort, you will be supported through learning conferences, leadership days, action learning and will have access to career relevant training and qualifications.

Key accountabilities:
Alumni Programme Research & Development:
- To assist with the identification of and engagement with the wider alumni community
- To implement a range of activities to engage with Rank’s alumni community;
- To design, plan and deliver Fellowship events, webinars, and other programmes that promote networking and professional development opportunities among Fellows/alumni;
- To create and develop relationships with the Fellows/alumni to increase involvement in the Foundation’s activities;
- To administer the mentoring programme connecting older Fellows with younger ones at the beginning of their professional careers;
- To liaise with the Comms team to raise the social media profile of the Rank Fellowship Alumni Network;
- To serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, communications, and requests;
- To be the secretariat for the Fellows Leadership Team, drafting agendas, minute taking, and following up on actions
- To design, plan and deliver School Leadership events with support from the Finance & Operations Officer
Data & Reporting:
- Manage the Fellowship database, ensuring it is kept up to date
- Send out digital surveys, monitor and track key deliverables;
- Collect achievements and contributions from Fellows to showcase impact;
- Collate and prepare reports based on survey outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the programme.
