You'll work closely with the Head of Employability, Skills and Training within the National Services department to develop, shape and grow our offer. We are looking for a commercially minded individual who can build our income generation pathway within National Services.
We have been working with employers, schools and higher education institutes for several years in the development of our Employ Autism programme, providing training and consultancy for employers and education providers as well as paid work experience for autistic young people. We are at an exciting time where we have a mixture of existing offers (training and consultancy and Employ Autism) as well as new products ready to launch, including, Autism Confidence, e-learning and our Careers Education Framework.
You'll secure income from employers, providers and partners for our Employability and Training team through our Employ Autism programme, developing and implementing a sales plan to secure new long-term strategic partnerships with nationwide businesses.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Sales, new business and/or experience of managing multiple client relationships.
- A demonstrable track record of working successfully with businesses in a development capacity to acquire and maximise relationships.
- Good knowledge of the commercial sector and employability/training services.
- Excellent presentation skills to engage a range of internal/external stakeholders.

- Supporting the Policy and Campaigns Manager in their role, deputising for them where necessary.
- Championing diversity, equality and inclusion, in addition to meeting legal and charitable regulatory requirements.
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 or equivalent experience.
- Experience of researching and analysing complex information such as policy and legislation.
- Experience of writing and editing impactful communications.
- Ability to work with multiple teams to deliver campaigns including fundraising, communications and frontline service staff.
- Commitment to meeting the needs of the people we support so they are empowered to make decisions to support the direction of our strategy.
- Ability to help bring in new ideas with the ability to assimilate and make sense of complex data and research.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Young Lives Consortium, 16-25 Community Builder you will be responsible for developing, implementing, delivering and evaluating a Project Plan which achieves the objectives of the funders to Grow, Integrate and Consolidate Community Provision that will enhance the emotional resilience and mental health for 16–25-year-olds in the Wakefield District.

1. Supporting organisational growth through a strategic approach, communication and consultation with appropriate boards and their organisations.
2. Supporting and encouraging community leaders and professionals in a range of different settings by reaching out to providing tailored development support, sharing our resources, assets and areas of best practice, focusing on the strengths and assets within our communities, by developing and working in partnership approach.
3. The identification of the existing skills, assets, knowledge and talents available within our community members, as well as our community partners, community anchors, community groups and Hubs who work with and support 16–25-Year-Old Young People in the Wakefield District.

Summary & Purpose of role - what you will be achieving.
This role will lead the smooth delivery of London Youth’s flagship Quality Mark programme. This programme has three tiers:
- Bronze Quality Mark – focusses on the policies and procedures that youth organisations are required to have in place to ensure they operate legally and provide a safe environment for service users.
- Silver Quality Mark – focusses on the quality of an organisation's provision for young people as well as the level of commitment to ensuring staff and volunteers are trained to a high standard and deliver excellent youth work.
- Gold Quality Mark – focusses on the organisation's positive impact on young people as well as its commitment to continual improvement.
Our quality mark programmes play a key role in supporting the development of our valued members. This important work will benefit youth organisations for years to come, not only with improving their youth offer, policies and procedures and quality of their workforce; but it also supports organisations with securing funding as our quality marks are recognised by many London funders.
About the role – what you will be doing
You will be responsible for leading the team who deliver our bronze, silver and gold Quality Marks. This will involve line managing a Delivery Officer as well as supporting other members of the Membership Team to deliver this programme. You will be responsible for planning and chairing monthly quality mark meetings as well as creating clear systems and processes that will enable the team to deliver effective and standardised support to members during their quality mark journey.
You will be responsible for the quality mark data on our CRM (Salesforce) and will ensure this is up to date. You will utilise this data to monitor the progress of the delivery of each level quality mark and for reporting purposes internally and externally.
You will use evaluation and feedback data to ensure the Quality Mark remains relevant and that we continue to improve this part of our core offer.
You will be responsible for creating resources for our Quality Mark Resource Library as well as ensuring all quality mark related web pages up to date on our website.
Your role is focussed on the delivery of all three Quality Mark levels; you’ll induct members onto the programmes, support a percentage of them through the programme via online check in meetings and emails, and you will utilise your knowledge and experience of youth work practice to assess youth organisations quality mark evidence folders (you will receive specific assessors training).
You will have overall responsibly for all communications sent to members regarding the quality mark programme and will ensure our members receive excellent customer service.
You will work closely with our training lead to ensure we are offering training that supports our members to achieve a quality mark.
You will lead on the ‘young observers’ element of the silver and gold Quality Marks. The young observers are young people from our youth board that visit organisations undertaking a silver or gold quality mark and provide feedback on their experience.
About you – what you bring to the role.
You have considerable experience of designing and delivering successful youth work programmes and/or have a qualification in youth work (minimum level 3).
You will have experience of delivering face-to-face youth work. You are aware of the many issues young people may face and have the skills and knowledge needed to support them. (For clarity, this is not a frontline youth work role, however knowledge and experience in delivering youth work is essential).
You are an excellent communicator and are comfortable presenting to large groups of people and individuals.
You have significant experience of project management and are a proficient problem solver.
You have experience of line managing staff and/or volunteers.
You have a good understanding of what resources and support youth workers require in order to be the best they can be.
You have an excellent understanding of the youth sector – both the challenges it faces and the positive impact it has on young people.

The charity was founded in 1989 and operates service centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and works online through a Digital Service to offer support to young people outside of our four office regions. akt works with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online assistance.
The Team
This role sits within London as part of the Fundraising team and reports directly to the Senior Partnerships Manager.
Job Summary
This is a temporary role on a one-year fixed term contract.
Akt has experienced 200% growth in corporate partnership income over six years and now works with over 80 corporate partners including Flying Tiger, Marks and Spencer's, Morrisons, Oliver Bonas and Blackstone. Partnerships is a key growth area for us over the next 5 years and the Partnerships Officer role will support the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop key relationships with corporate partners, helping to steward and cultivate strong multi-year partnerships to drive income, pro-bono resource, volunteering and marketing/brand awareness. The Partnerships Officer will take a particularly active role over the summer Pride season, attending relevant corporate talks and events on behalf of akt. We have an overall income target of £2.2M across fundraising this year, with approximately £800K coming from partnerships.
Duties and responsibilities
- Day-day relationship management of a proportion of our existing corporate partnerships, with a focus on enhancing stewardship and cultivation.
- Ensuring the basics of strong partnership management are met e.g. punctual responses, professional meetings, strong proposals and quick thanking.
- Support the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop robust stewardship and cultivation plans, feeding creative ideas into the process.
- Implement stewardship and cultivation plans as appropriate, to drive increased multi-year income.
- Embrace a face-face role, particularly during the Pride season, by attending talks and events in person as an akt representative. Some out of hours work will be required.
- Support the team with relevant administrative tasks, including desk research, proposals, small grant applications, messaging, and filing.
- Keep contacts and records updated on the CRM, following a strict procedure set by the Senior Partnerships Manager.
- Keep up to date with trends impacting the corporate sector and business/charity collaborations to build understanding and spot new opportunities to generate income.
- akt may from time to time require you to undertake additional or other duties as necessary as commensurate with the role.

Community Development Officer
The Communities Officer will lead a new community-focused initiative aimed at increasing access to Cambridge Science Centre’s educational offerings. Through researching areas of need and collaborating with community leaders, the officer will develop a robust network of partnerships to facilitate participation from children facing barriers to engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Community Research & Needs Assessment: Identify key areas within Cambridge where children face barriers to accessing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) engagement. Use data-driven approaches and community feedback to conduct needs assessments, supporting the development of evidence-based strategies and action plans with relevant partners and community organisations.
• Partnership Development: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, and organisations that can help ensure the Centre’s programmes reach the right audiences.
• Programme Development: Develop, co-design, and coordinate events with a place-based approach or under a thematic area. Collaborate with the Head of Programmes & Delivery and the Head of Exhibitions to design and implement 1 tailored after-school, school-day and weekend programmes that address community-specific needs, including logistical barriers such as transport and scheduling.
• Outreach & Communication: Maintain regular contact with community stakeholders, building trust and ensuring effective two-way communication. Act as the primary liaison between Cambridge Science Centre and community partners.
• Volunteer Engagement: Work with volunteers as needed to support programme delivery and community outreach efforts.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Track the impact of community programmes, gathering feedback and adjusting strategies to improve engagement and outcomes continually. Maintain records, produce relevant statistics, and prepare and present reports as required.
• Promotion: Serve as a brand ambassador for Cambridge Science Centre within the community. Leverage social media and local communication channels to engage and support community members. Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to develop and share impactful case studies and stories, helping to raise broader awareness of CSC’s work.
Person Specification

This role involves regular travel across Cambridge and occasional evening or weekend commitments to meet with community partners and deliver programmes. Occasional office work may be required at CSC’s Head Office at 44 Clifton Road, Cambridge CB1 7ED.
