Responsibilities of our Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
- Carry out cleaning of cat pens, including litter trays, in the various sections of the centre
- Feed and care for cats requiring additional medical or behavioural treatment as required. This also includes handling
- Present a professional and friendly image to customers and visitors
- As required, assist with veterinary runs and transport cats to different sites. This will include driving the Cats Protection vehicle off-site
- Support the Centre and Deputy Manager in the day to day running of the Centre and supervision of employees
- Provide support and supervision to volunteers to coach and guide them on cat care duties
- Support with the scheduling and preparation of rehoming information, viewings and adoption of cats in care
About the centre team:
- Our Cat Centre’s and homing centres care for thousands of cats each year until they are able to find a loving new home.
- The team is made up of 3 regional volunteer team Leaders and Volunteers, closely linked with the neighboring Cat Centre
What we’re looking for in our Senior Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
- A full, manual driving license is essential as driving of centre vans, transporting cats and working between two sites is required
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills and experience of dealing with members of the public
- Experience of animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of how to meet welfare needs of cats
- Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
- A positive attitude and good at working as part of a team
- Team leader or supervisory experience
- An understanding of health and safety and comfortable with manual handling tasks

This role will lead the smooth delivery of London Youth’s flagship Quality Mark programme. This programme has three tiers:
- Bronze Quality Mark – focusses on the policies and procedures that youth organisations are required to have in place to ensure they operate legally and provide a safe environment for service users.
- Silver Quality Mark – focusses on the quality of an organisation's provision for young people as well as the level of commitment to ensuring staff and volunteers are trained to a high standard and deliver excellent youth work.
- Gold Quality Mark – focusses on the organisation's positive impact on young people as well as its commitment to continual improvement.
Our quality mark programmes play a key role in supporting the development of our valued members. This important work will benefit youth organisations for years to come, not only with improving their youth offer, policies and procedures and quality of their workforce; but it also supports organisations with securing funding as our quality marks are recognised by many London funders.
About the role – what you will be doing
You will be responsible for leading the team who deliver our bronze, silver and gold Quality Marks. This will involve line managing a Delivery Officer as well as supporting other members of the Membership Team to deliver this programme. You will be responsible for planning and chairing monthly quality mark meetings as well as creating clear systems and processes that will enable the team to deliver effective and standardised support to members during their quality mark journey.
You will be responsible for the quality mark data on our CRM (Salesforce) and will ensure this is up to date. You will utilise this data to monitor the progress of the delivery of each level quality mark and for reporting purposes internally and externally.
You will use evaluation and feedback data to ensure the Quality Mark remains relevant and that we continue to improve this part of our core offer.
You will be responsible for creating resources for our Quality Mark Resource Library as well as ensuring all quality mark related web pages up to date on our website.
Your role is focussed on the delivery of all three Quality Mark levels; you’ll induct members onto the programmes, support a percentage of them through the programme via online check in meetings and emails, and you will utilise your knowledge and experience of youth work practice to assess youth organisations quality mark evidence folders (you will receive specific assessors training).
You will have overall responsibly for all communications sent to members regarding the quality mark programme and will ensure our members receive excellent customer service.
You will work closely with our training lead to ensure we are offering training that supports our members to achieve a quality mark.
You will lead on the ‘young observers’ element of the silver and gold Quality Marks. The young observers are young people from our youth board that visit organisations undertaking a silver or gold quality mark and provide feedback on their experience.
About you – what you bring to the role.
You have considerable experience of designing and delivering successful youth work programmes and/or have a qualification in youth work (minimum level 3).
You will have experience of delivering face-to-face youth work. You are aware of the many issues young people may face and have the skills and knowledge needed to support them. (For clarity, this is not a frontline youth work role, however knowledge and experience in delivering youth work is essential).
You are an excellent communicator and are comfortable presenting to large groups of people and individuals.
You have significant experience of project management and are a proficient problem solver.
You have experience of line managing staff and/or volunteers.
You have a good understanding of what resources and support youth workers require in order to be the best they can be.
You have an excellent understanding of the youth sector – both the challenges it faces and the positive impact it has on young people.

Role overview

Responsibilities
- With an emphasis on High Value Fundraising, develop and implement a multi-channel fundraising strategy to grow and develop The Nightingale’s income stream including major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, events and corporate fundraising.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the fundraising team, setting income targets and delivering strategic support.
- Build sustainable, long-term relationships that align with The Nightingale’s fundraising priorities and the creation of clearly defined, measurable targets and KPIs.
- Develop fundraising tools and materials, creating bespoke, high-quality materials that resonate with major donors and support broader fundraising activities such as printed materials, e-marketing, and web-based materials.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices, including data protection legislation and the Charity Commission’s guidelines.

Role Overview:
This is a new role, providing an opportunity to develop and evolve it. As Compliance Officer, you will be the Charity’s lead and expert on compliance with its external regulatory requirements and internal policies. Specifically, you will be responsible for managing and assuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, including UK charity law, financial regulations, GDPR, safeguarding, and anti-money laundering regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a robust compliance programme that ensures adherence to internal and external policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and sector best practices.

Qualification:

About the Role

This post would ideally suit someone with well-developed research skills who is keen to develop further and willing to lead on projects as well as working with others. The post holder will lead on writing reports, papers and potentially small tenders where needed, as well as and co-developing larger proposals. They will also support other people with lived experience who work on an ad hoc or volunteer basis as their link contact and will facilitate and lead research involvement groups with adults and young people. The post holder will work on a wide range of projects including with a neuroscience and biomedical focus.

The Information Services team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for providing information about dementia and dementia research to the public. The team operates the charity’s Dementia Research Infoline and produces and disseminates health information booklets and other resources. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Day-to-day delivery of the Dementia Research Infoline by responding to public enquiries and providing accurate, responsible and helpful information to the public.
· Acting as the first point of contact for Dementia Research Infoline callers, providing information over the phone about dementia and dementia research, as well as signposting to other organisations. Note – the Infoline does not provide counselling or medical advice.
· Responding to Dementia Research Infoline enquiries by letter, social media and email.
· Registering people to Join Dementia Research, via the telephone and via paper registration form. This involves processing and recording volunteer health information and ensuring data is up-to-date and contact with registrants maintained appropriately.
· Supporting existing volunteers on Join Dementia Research, with tech issues, keeping their data up to date, and discussing opportunities to take part in research.
· Average enquiry volumes are around 5-10 per day per officer and can be up to 30 minutes long.
· Maintaining an up-to-date and evidence-based library of responses to common health and research enquiries relating to dementia.
Promoting to the public the importance of participation in research and acting as an entry-point for the UK research register, Join Dementia Research and other ways to take part in research.
· Discussing with the public, through the Dementia Research Infoline, the different ways people can get involved in research and the types of studies looking for volunteers.
· Managing the confidential handling of personal data.
· Finding ways to promote taking part in research to internal and external audiences, with a focus on reaching underserved audiences.
Creation and dissemination of health information
· Writing and updating evidence-based health information materials in line with inhouse standards and processes, including engaging and accessible materials in print, web and other formats.

Raising awareness of dementia research in underserved communities
· Assisting in the dissemination of information and resources to underserved communities.
· Looking for opportunities to raise awareness in hard-to-reach audiences.

What we are looking for:
· Science graduate or equivalent level of education (biomedical or biological subject).
· Experience of discussing health or research with the public.

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). The charity was founded in 1989 and operates service centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and works online through a Digital Service to offer support to young people outside of our four office regions. akt works with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online assistance.
The Team
This role sits within London as part of the Fundraising team and reports directly to the Senior Partnerships Manager.
Job Summary
This is a temporary role on a one-year fixed term contract.
Akt has experienced 200% growth in corporate partnership income over six years and now works with over 80 corporate partners including Flying Tiger, Marks and Spencer's, Morrisons, Oliver Bonas and Blackstone. Partnerships is a key growth area for us over the next 5 years and the Partnerships Officer role will support the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop key relationships with corporate partners, helping to steward and cultivate strong multi-year partnerships to drive income, pro-bono resource, volunteering and marketing/brand awareness. The Partnerships Officer will take a particularly active role over the summer Pride season, attending relevant corporate talks and events on behalf of akt. We have an overall income target of £2.2M across fundraising this year, with approximately £800K coming from partnerships.
Duties and responsibilities
- Day-day relationship management of a proportion of our existing corporate partnerships, with a focus on enhancing stewardship and cultivation.
- Ensuring the basics of strong partnership management are met e.g. punctual responses, professional meetings, strong proposals and quick thanking.

The Communities Officer will lead a new community-focused initiative aimed at increasing access to Cambridge Science Centre’s educational offerings. Through researching areas of need and collaborating with community leaders, the officer will develop a robust network of partnerships to facilitate participation from children facing barriers to engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Community Research & Needs Assessment: Identify key areas within Cambridge where children face barriers to accessing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) engagement.
