The role
This role will support the Senior Finance Business Partner to build Salix’s reputation as trustworthy stewards of public money. You will lead on all aspects of the financial monitoring and reporting for specific business areas, ensuring actuals and budgets/ forecasts are critiqued and reviewed before submission to the Senior Finance Business Partner.
In this role you will support the delivery of a high-quality management reporting and business partnering service that facilitates effective business insights into our administration costs. You will work closely with the Financial Reporting team to support the monthly Trial Balance submission to DESNZ. You will be managing your own areas of budget and have the ability to build strong relationships with budget holders and their teams.
Key responsibilities include though may not be limited to the following:
• Monitor actuals against budget/forecast and maintain accurate records in line with budget categories for costs within area of responsibility.
• Working with budget holders and the wider Finance team, to ensure all relevant accruals, prepayments, and miscode journals are posted in accordance with the month-end timetable.
• Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in producing monthly management and board reports, including the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators, which highlight key risks/opportunities and provides insightful business intelligence for area of responsibility for review by the Senior Finance Business Partner.
• For your area of responsibility, lead on the preparation of the annual
budgeting/forecast processes ensuring that budget holders are actively involved, understand and are accountable for their budgets and these are submitted to the Senior Finance Business Partner in line with the timetables.
• Ensure budgets/forecasts are appropriately evidenced, phased throughout the year, and records maintained prior to reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner.
• Build strong working relationships with budget holders to ensure that there is a good understanding of operational issues impacting budgets and ensuring that risks and opportunities are highlighted and understood.
What you will need to succeed
• Practical experience of preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasts working with budget holders to challenge assumptions.
• Practical experience of business partnering with teams outside of finance, influencing where required and ensuring teams understand the financial implications of information provided.
• CCAB qualified/finalist/part qualified or QBE.
• You are deadline driven and a collaborative member within a team.

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated and highly organised person to join a health focused Trust as the Research & Policy Team Administrator on a full time temporary basis for 2-3 months with potential to become permanent. This role offers hybrid working with 3 days per week in their Central London office and 2 days working from home. Starting early – mid January.

Work with the Governance Business Partner to provide support to the Chief Executive
- Routine Diary Management: scheduling 1-1/ small group internal and external meetings
- Processing expense claims and completing monthly credit card reconciliation(s)
- Liaising with external event organisers to gather speaker information, format and share PowerPoint presentations and track speaking engagements for relevant reporting
- Assisting with general administrative tasks, including organising digital and physical files, printing relevant resources, greeting visitors on site.

About the role
This multifaceted role requires the ability to manage, interrogate and evaluate data and compile accurate reports to enable crucial reporting to funders. This role enables the post holder to facilitate the end to end process ensuring the data input into the system allows for accuracy in reporting on funding contracts. The postholder will have a keen eye for accuracy and be able to interrogate case management systems to extract relevant data.
- To facilitate data collection, consolidate, analyse and organise reports for funders and internal teams with precision and attention to detail.
- To support the COO with daily operations by ensuring that data is accurately and appropriately recorded in the case management system to facilitate the reporting required.
- To aid in the administration and advancement of the online case management system.
- To generate reports and statistics to disseminate the results of the Pathway Project.
- To work with colleagues to include data impact in the storytelling and case studies within funding, trust or grant applications to demonstrate the impact of the Pathway Project whilst maintaining the confidentiality of our clients.
- Support Pathway Project to maintain excellent relationships with funders, grant makers or trust managers and ensuring the data required for reporting is recorded accurately to facilitate that reporting.

- Experience in data collection, data analysis techniques & presentation of data whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

About The Role
You will support the Project Coordinator to deliver the My Health Matters Project in Manchester including the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service. The Service is delivered by volunteers with lived experience and is a front facing project delivering 1 to 1 support on an outreach basis. You will help to recruit volunteers and support them through their induction with Shelter; provide day to day support for peer advocates and peer research volunteers; accompany volunteers on outreach appointments, support with referrals, attend group meetings, administer expenses and other admin duties. The post will be based in our office at Swan St but will require travel across Greater Manchester and occasional travel to other cities including possible overnights.

You understand the barriers to accessing healthcare faced by people who are experiencing homelessness and can form professional relationships with peer advocates and Homeless Health Peer Advocacy clients, all the while following relevant guidance and safeguarding procedures.
You empower those with lived experience through your excellent interpersonal and communication skills and you are as comfortable working collaboratively as you are working independently.

My Health Matters is a peer-led health inclusion project that works towards an inclusive health system where everyone has access to the health care they need. My Health Matters supports people experiencing homelessness to address physical and mental health issues through the delivery of a Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service. We work to improve people’s confidence in using health services and increase their ability to access healthcare independently. The project brings together frontline health and social care services with those with lived experience supporting the co-production of solutions to health inequalities in Manchester.

About the team
Shelter’s Finance Team sits within the Strategy Enablement Directorate, which also includes HR Operations, Technology and Data, and Governance, Planning and Property. The Finance Team consists of 30 people led by the Assistant Director of Finance.
The Head of Financial Planning and Analysis leads the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team and reports to the Assistant Director of Finance. FP&A produces financial reports and analysis, provides expert advice, and enables collaboration to support effective decision making throughout the charity.

The organisation's listening service caters to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. This is a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including sexuality, gender identity, sexual health, and emotional well-being. Handling over 17,000 conversations each year, their services continue to be in high demand, with their network of volunteers offering a vital service to people across the country in times of need, but also providing incredible insights into the issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community the most.
Having been largely volunteer-resourced for most of its history, our client has recognised that the charity has outgrown the ability to remain entirely volunteer-led and has sponsored a cultural shift within the organisation. Since 2021 they have been on a journey to establish a staff team and are now looking to introduce this new role as they grow throughout 2024 to a team of 11.
The COO will join the Senior Leadership Team and will drive the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy and operational plan to support longer-term evolution and growth of the organisation and its services. This will involve focus on the organisations IT and technical infrastructure with oversight on other business and governance functions. Mindworks is increasingly making user voice and participation more central to everything we do, and a formal strategy is due to be launched in Winter 2024, to build upon the previous work to date and to continue our journey.
To support the exciting launch of this strategy, we are seeking to grow our team responsible for leading its implementation. This role is Mindworks facing, but the role is hosted by Surrey Wellbeing Partnership Charity.
Key responsibilities
-Support the Mindworks User Voice lead with the implementation of the newly launched strategy and action plan, alongside colleagues, young people and families.
-Undertake user voice/feedback insight analysis and recommendations to influence change.
-Provide assistance to our ongoing transformation by providing support to facilitate spaces for children, young people and parents and carers to influence service development decisions, alongside transformation leads.
-Lead on creating content for participation related updates for various internal and external platforms, including feedback loops children, young people and parents and carers.
-Provide support to plan and deliver opportunities for learning and developing participation practice for staff, with Mindworks User Voice lead.
-Connect with the wider Surrey voice and participation landscape to support our evolving joined up approach.
Shortlisting Criteria

· Level 4 Qualification or above in youth work, education, health or social care or related field (Essential).
· Degree level of equivalent (Desirable).

People with lived experience will be involved in a variety of ways too, including involvement groups, taking part in events within local communities, co-designing services and campaigns, sharing stories and speaking out about the housing emergency. You will work closely alongside people with lived experience to influence and steer the direction of Shelter’s work, so that lived experience informs everything we do.

About you

The ability to plan and co-ordinate involvement activities with local teams and have several activities running during the same time period, is important too, as is a flair for developing successful relationships with colleagues across a large organisation, as well as with local organisations and partners. Some experience of presenting information verbally and in writing is also required, as is proficiency using IT tools to carry out your day-to-day work, including case management systems, Microsoft Office, internet, email and online meetings.

Leading and supporting a small, ambitious fundraising team the post holder will have responsibility for all aspects of fundraising including developing new income streams and effective collaboration with colleagues to ensure successful project delivery and timely and accurate processes and reporting. Working closely with the senior leadership team you will help to advance the mission and growth of the organisation and achieve their strategic aim of ensuring that every family has the support they need.
To be successful in this role requires demonstrable experience of leading high performing teams to secure income from diverse income streams, including from trusts and foundations and statutory sources. You might come from a fundraising or business development background, with senior level experience of managing both. Direct experience of managing tenders and local authority commissioning would be ideal. Equally, experience of Major Donor or Corporate Partnerships fundraising would be an asset. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced role and be excited about developing a new role and team in a growing charity.
This is ideally a full-time role; however, a minimum of 28 hours will be considered. It is a permanent position with a salary of £52,000 to £55,000 plus a London weighting of £3,226.
