Climate Emergency UK is at a exciting time, since starting just over 5 years ago we have have successfully launched the first ever complete UK assessment of coucil climate action, with the Council Climate Action Scorecards, and are about to launch the second one in June 2025. Worcester Students’ Union (WSU) is a registered charity (number 1145192) and a membership organisation, with its primary object being the advancement of education of students at the University of Worcester. The Union aims to achieve this through:

WSU is an unincorporated company with a Board of Trustees comprising of three Officer Trustees (the Full-time, elected Officers), up to four Student Trustees, and up to four Lay Trustees. The Board is responsible for the oversight of the Union’s governance, strategy, and financial sustainability. The post of Lay Trustee has a 3-year term and post holders may serve a maximum of two terms, either consecutively or non-consecutively.

This is a very important time for WSU as we manage the challenges posed by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and the well-documented difficulties being experienced by higher education providers. We must support the needs of a diverse and ever-changing student body across multiple campuses, with less resource and pressure to diversify income streams.
Students’ Unions are unique organisations where change is the norm and where students are at the heart of strategy and decision-making. They deliver a wide range of services in a passionate, cost-effective, and professional way and are necessarily responsible, vibrant, and fast-paced. Becoming a Trustee of a Union is an excellent way of providing support and guidance whilst gaining personal knowledge and satisfaction. We have an excellent Board and currently have a vacancy for a Trustee with experience of charity/organisational senior management (Director/CEO etc.) and/or business development.
There are 5 full Board meetings per year and, also, 5 meetings of the two Sub Committees of the Board. We estimate that time to attend meetings (we ask that Lay Trustees sit on one Sub Committee), as well as time to prepare and read papers and liaise with the Chief Executive, totals between 20 to 25 hours per year. As a trustee, you will play a pivotal role in providing governance and guidance to ensure we are delivering for people with liver disease and liver cancer. About Access Academia
Access Academia is the charitable umbrella which was created out of the creation of the student-led publication, the Journal of Intersectional Social Justice. When Journal of Intersectional Social Justice (JISJ) was created, there were not any expectations for the project to be any more than that: a student-led academic publication. However, as it rolled on, attention for the project widened and it began to cover other topics and get involved in other realms of knowledge sharing, activism, and content creation. The creation of the seminal Access Series on the Intersections blog springboarded the idea for the JISJ to turn into something much more than a simple academic publication. Now as we have restructured the JISJ into Access Academia, we are finalising our official registration as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in the UK.
Our core purpose is to Make Academia More Accessible. We plan to accomplish this by many different avenues, as obviously it is a very wide-ranging goal! The main ways we plan to do this are through encouraging Open Access academia and knowledge sharing through the Access Series, expanding the themes covered on Intersections with additions such as Mental Health Mondays and Colonialism in Subject, creating accessible content across our social media platforms which encourages truthful and accurate knowledge sharing and activism, running research events to encourage students to publish and interact with academia, covering inside stories of academia, running student engagement programmes to try and make academia less of an Ivory Tower, and much more!

Content Creation & Design:

Design and produce a minimum of 2 social media posts per month, ensuring they are aligned with the charity's voice and branding.

Create engaging visual content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, and website updates.

Work with the marketing team to develop creative concepts for campaigns and initiatives.

Content Strategy & Planning:

Assist in developing content strategies that resonate with the charity’s target audience.

Ensure content is on-brand, consistent in style, and optimized for different digital platforms.

Help create and maintain a content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of posts and materials.

Brand Consistency:

Maintain a consistent visual and written tone across all digital platforms.

Stay updated on design trends and digital marketing strategies to ensure content is fresh and engaging.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

Collaborate with internal teams and volunteers to ensure a consistent post schedule.

Contribute and attend all meetings for the Content Creation Team and directions from the Director of Content Creation.

Meet all given deadlines on time and consistently.

The Board of Elmore Community Services is looking for new Trustees to lead the organisation at an important stage in its development.
Elmore was founded in 1989 and has successfully supported hundreds of with people with multiple and complex needs to live active and fulfilling lives. The charity specialises in working with individuals who, for whatever reason, find other mental health services hard to access and can be left unsupported at critical times.
Elmore’s clients may have mental health needs and people experiencing homelessness or unstable housing, individuals who are coping with the long-term impact of substance misuse, alcohol dependency, domestic abuse and neglect.
We are committed to persevering, trying out different approaches to engage the person and build up their trust in support services possibly for the first time.
This is vital work, and Trustees find contributing to the Board and the overall strategy and impact of Elmore highly worthwhile.
We also need Board Members with knowledge and experience of:

Commissioning and Partnership Building with the NHS and Local Government

Fundraising – especially from Trusts and Foundations

Improving and assessing Programme impact and Quality
We are particularly looking for Trustees with lived experience of services like Elmore’s.
Younger people and people from ethnic minority communities are currently underrepresented on the Board and we would especially welcome applications from these groups living in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire where Elmore currently has programmes.

Role Summary
The Marketing Lead will lead the Canada marketing strategy, driving brand growth and customer engagement. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, including brand development, digital marketing, campaign management, market research, and customer experience. As a key member of the team, the Marketing Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to position Roots as a leader in the Islamic Education industry while ensuring all marketing efforts align with our mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to achieve organization goals, including brand awareness, lead generation, and customer retention.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
Brand Management & Positioning:
- Strengthen the organization’s brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Lead efforts to position the brand as an industry leader, driving differentiation and competitive advantage.
Campaign Planning & Execution:
- Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and traditional channels.
- Measure campaign effectiveness, optimizing performance and ROI.
Team Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster a collaborative, creative, and results-driven environment.
Content Development:
- Develop a media strategy that includes high-quality photography and videography to enhance brand storytelling.
- Oversee the production of visual content for social media, advertisements, websites, and events.
- Ensure all media content aligns with brand identity and marketing goals.
Preferred Experience:
Marketing & Branding
- Some experience in digital marketing, social media, or event promotion.
- Basic knowledge of social media management, and content creation.
Involvement with MSAs or ISOCs
- Experience with Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) or Islamic Societies (ISOCs) as a member, volunteer, or organizer.
- Comfortable engaging with Muslim communities and student networks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Marketing Skills: Proven expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, and campaign management.
- Innovative: Demonstrated ability to drive growth through innovative and data-driven marketing strategies
- Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Ontario, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.
- Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to support program delivery efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.
