About Citadel

Citadel is a volunteer-led project preventing homelessness by helping people find or sustain their tenancies and establish a home. Volunteers, once recruited, trained and DBS checked are matched with those referred for support. Co-ordinators and volunteers work closely with those referred to establish what matters to them and how best they can support them.

BACKGROUND

Habitat for Humanity Great Britain (Habitat GB) is part of the international Habitat for Humanity network. We address housing poverty worldwide by partnering with communities and families to help them achieve their dreams of safe, decent housing. 

Purpose of The role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.

Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.

This position will:

· Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with collaborative partners in the housing support sector.

· Budget Preparation: Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities.

· Volunteer Management: Recruit, screen, and train volunteers.

· Event Coordination: Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.

· Special Event Organisation: Organise special events, including donor and volunteer appreciation events, and fundraising initiatives.

· Proposal Development: Support the development of proposals for new initiatives.

· Performance Tracking: Track and report on outreach performance and impact.

· Safety and Compliance: Ensure events and activities comply with regulatory standards, manage risk, and ensure program safety and quality assurance.

· Additional Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Person Specification

You will play a key role in developing and implementing community hub services and outreach efforts. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the people we support. This role is ideal for someone with a background in community outreach or social care, though we welcome applicants with relevant transferable experience and skills.

Skills and competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience of managing people or volunteers within a relevant sector.
• Skill in networking and liaising with specialist service providers or agencies to establish and improve service access for target groups, ideally within the housing support or related sector.
• Proven relationship-building skills to support collaboration and partnership activities.
• Understanding of the effects of trauma on people and how to work in a trauma-informed way.
• Good understanding of safeguarding practices in outreach work/social care and ability to work with confidentiality.
• Ability to effectively manage and, when designated, supervise diverse work activities.
• Ability to communicate and disseminate information effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Support for Habitat’s values and willingness to be a part of the Habitat GB team, contributing to an inclusive, kind and people-positive culture.

Stepping Stones is a thriving, longstanding and highly valued community organisation. We have delivered activities for over 30 years and our weekly classes are an important part of the lives of people who attend.

Our main delivery is a timetable of up to 14 weekly classes from our base in a multipurpose community centre. We also have activities off site including gardening at a local allotment and music and art classes at a day centre and residential home. Each week over 100 people benefit from our activities.

Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Lead Music Therapist

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service

Contract: Permanent, 28-35 hours days per week, 4-5 days per week

Location: Coram campus, London

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service offers art, music and drama therapy, therapeutic parenting, clinical psychology and family therapy to children and families at our dedicated creative therapies centre and in schools.  We work primarily with adoptive and connected carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties.  We are a trauma-informed service and have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well-established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy, art therapy and narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special Guardianship Order.  We have a purpose built therapy building and have recently built a music studio for our adolescent work.  We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge ourselves and our practice, seeking at all times to be inclusive and anti-racist. About the role

We are seeking an experienced HCPC qualified Music Therapist to provide leadership, supervision and management of music therapists and other creative therapists in the service.  You will carry out therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments and music therapy interventions with adopted and Special Guardianship Order families.  This work involves trauma informed approaches, family work and life story work.  The team is led by a Clinical Psychologist and provides creative, relational, and evidence based approaches, collaborating with wider networks and reaching schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post holder will receive supervision by a highly qualified Music therapist, and be line managed by a Clinical Psychologist.   The post offers a unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support. 

The successful candidate will be experienced at working with managing and supervising therapists, developmental trauma, and child and family work and operates with initiative and responsiveness in a dynamic professional environment.   A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would be desirable, with a good understanding of safeguarding planning and managing highly emotive situations. Experience of running multi-family groups would be an advantage. This role requires a supportive professional, a team player, who enjoys working in a diverse, respectful and challenging team.

Mindful Mums is an award-winning perinatal mental health and wellbeing peer support project that builds resilience and confidence in women and birthing people in the first year of motherhood.

As a Mindful Mums Project Worker, you will help co-deliver our five-week Perinatal Wellbeing programme with our peer support volunteers. Within these groups, you will provide a safe, non-judgemental space for women and birthing people to share their experiences, meet others and discuss the challenges that come during the first year of parenthood.

You will be involved in all frontline aspects of the project, including training volunteers who have lived through their own perinatal mental health problems. You will also help to review, monitor and evaluate the project, and disseminate learning.

You will have knowledge of perinatal mental health, be an effective communicator with experience of delivering groups or workshops, and preferably experience of working within community based or voluntary services. Your exceptional organisation skills will support the successful delivery of the project and ensure that it is evaluated effectively.

• Appreciate the pressures and stresses facing women and birthing people during pregnancy and as new parents
• Are reliable, consistent and dependable

About this key role

You will manage a caseload of up to 15 clients and support a minimum of 20 new clients annually and play a central role in preventing serious youth violence, exploitation, offending and ensuring the safety of at-risk individuals. To achieve this, you will conduct initial needs assessments, before developing individual support and risk management plans, ensuring that you promote inter-agency collaborating in the process, and regularly reviewing the progress against these plans.

We will also count on you to provide vital holistic support, including social and housing support, finances, benefits, parenting, health, education, training & employment, and criminal justice system involvement.  Working closely with colleagues to ensure team effectiveness and building and maintaining relationships with partner agencies are also both key aspects of this role, as are collecting information and evidence for monitoring and service evaluation and ensuring that you efficiently close cases and identify ongoing support routes for your clients.

• Proven record of recruiting, engaging, and motivating target client groups

• Experience of the effective delivery of bespoke training to one-to-one or with small groups

• A sound understanding of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area

Our highly committed Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the North East England & Yorkshire Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. There will be occasional travel around these areas and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.

The post is part time, three days per week, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.

About the team

The team works remotely and prides itself in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in these regions, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Manager.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR, along with experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families, along with supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the North East & Yorkshire would be valuable.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Wellbeing Advisor Assistant with experience of working within a children and young people, to work within a multi-disciplinary wellbeing advice services team to increase and improve emotional and mental health provision within local communities for 11–24-year-olds in the West London CCG area.

The Senior Wellbeing Adviser will be a part of our Youth Services team and will work to deliver mental health services for young people and the adults who support them. The Senior Wellbeing Adviser will co-ordinate and deliver a diverse portfolio of wellbeing services including the provision of 1:1 practical wellbeing advice and support to young people (mainly aged 16-25), facilitation of peer support groups, delivery of workshops and trainings and co-ordinate awareness-raising campaigns on occasion.

This post will enable the post-holder to develop a wide range of project coordination and evaluation skills. The position will suit an individual who is self-motivated, an excellent communicator and data competent, with an interest in quality improvement, line management, an understanding of child development and mental health, as well as a passion to support services for children, young people and their families.

The post holder will also work alongside colleagues and partners in the Local Authority, CAMHS, educational settings where interventions are being delivered and other relevant mental health providers.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide practical mental health focused short term casework to young people through 1:1 face to face appointments 
• To develop, co-ordinate and deliver workshops and training to groups of children and young people 
• To raise and escalate safeguarding concerns effectively with partners to ensure children and young people are effectively safeguarded
• Signpost referrals for children and young people with more complex needs to the relevant service. 
• Coordinate referrals and booking in sessions 
• Conduct regular line management with one Wellbeing Advisor working closely with them as a team. 
• To undertake data collection, analysis and monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of service provision 
• To produce impact reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programs

• Maintain comprehensive records of all training and clinical activity in line with both health and education service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision-making.  
• Complete all requirements relating to data collection and report clinical outcomes and service access data into the digital patient record system, CYP IAPTUS.  
• To assist in the formulation and delivery low-intensity psychological treatments based on evidence-based literature and research to support best practice in clinical work. Interventions may include guided self-help, and treatment might be individual or in psychoeducational groups. This work includes delivery face to face, virtual and Telephone.  
• Engage in robust managerial and clinical supervision, identifying the scope of practice of the individual post-holder within the role, and working safely within that scope.   
• Attend multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings relating to referrals or children and young people in treatment, where appropriate, both for personal educational benefit in discussion with supervisors, and to provide direct assistance.   
• Work in collaboration with school staff, parents, children, young people, and the wider community to enhance and broaden access to mental health services.

The aim of Advice Service Supervisor is to maintain a consistent quality of advice and help for clients by providing support, guidance and feedback on a day to day basis. There are 3 main areas:

• ensuring quality - actively supporting the quality of advice by guiding the team to information sources, checking that all aspects of a client's situation have been considered, checking that follow up work is progressed, and that research and campaigns issues are identified
