Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as Childrens support worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges.

The Organisation

Early Intervention and Prevention services (Including Purple Leaf and Branch) is part of West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC). WMRSASC has been supporting survivors of all types of sexual abuse and sexual violence for over 35 years and provides a range of services including advocacy, therapy, online and a helpline service

Early Intervention and Prevention services is an organisation dedicated to working to eradicate sexual violence through:

- Empowering individuals and organisations

The Person

We are looking for confident individuals to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact, strong crisis management skills and skills in providing non-judgemental trauma informed support. The Role

This exciting new role will be required to provide a range of early interventions for children impacted by sexual harm or sexual exploitation.

The post holder will conduct assessments, provide recommendations, provide time limited non-criminal justice advocacy and psychosocial education to support the needs of children and young people who have either experienced sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or sexual harm. (This also could lead to an opportunity to work with children that have caused sexual harm to others).

Tasks include:

- To provide time limited non- criminal justice advocacy, psychosocial education and support to children and young people and their families who have experienced sexual violence/have caused sexual harm to others.
- To develop and deliver interventions based on individual needs of clients.
- To undertake risk and needs assessments (including specialist AIM assessment where required for children who have caused sexual harm) and undertake associated report writing and recommendations.
- Collaborate and support a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of those impacted by sexual harm to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Carry out institutional advocacy and stakeholder engagement and communication to enhance to wellbeing of all survivors of sexual violence.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of services.
- To support the group work facilitation of the delivery of psychosocial education in schools, colleges and community settings.
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events.

We have roles focused in the Worcestershire area, all role holders will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

Barnardo's are commissioned to deliver the services in the Children and Family Centres in Warwickshire in partnership with a wide variety of agencies offering activities to children, young people and parents/carers. Rugby Children and Family Centres are recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner to deliver a range of services including 1:1 support, groups activities and courses. Our work is all about making the biggest impact during the journey of a child's life.

 The service aims to offer sessions during the day, after school and on weekends.

The Early Years Practitioner will join an experienced team delivering activities at our 3 centres and all our outreach sites in Rugby and the surrounding borough. 

This post requires a good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and child development. Experience of working with the 5-19 yr age groups (up to 25yrs for SEND) would also be an advantage. 

We are looking to appoint an experienced EY Practitioner.  This is a busy and varied role where you will be required to work autonomously or as part of a team to deliver a range of services within the community. You will help to:

•  Offer fun and engaging activities to support children to develop positive social and emotional skills.
• Build positive relationships with parents/ carers.
• Hold sometimes difficult/ challenging conversations with parents.
• Offer advice and support, or signpost and refer parents to the most appropriate service.
• Support Service to deliver offer to support KPIs

The postholder will be required to be flexible to work across the Rugby Borough locality, as outreach work is a significant and regular part of the EYs team's work, an ability to travel and transport resources throughout the locality  to meet the requirements of the role is essential.

Job Title: Senior Supervising Social Worker

Salary: £35,893 per annum (increasing to £39,880 after 18 months) + £750 per annum Homeworking Allowance + £1,500 per annum Out of Hours Allowance

Location: Homebased - West Midlands. Applicants should be able to travel across the West Midlands for home visits to support carers and children. Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:

• An appropriate social work qualification
• Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
• Experience in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people
• A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
• Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
• Experience of working with/supporting looked after children and their foster carers.

• Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars

Home-based in NHS SW Region with occasional visits to our office in London.

Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. The role is a significant development in expanding access to expert and joined-up ataxia care for the ataxia community, particularly in regions currently underserved by neurologists with expertise in the ataxias. 

As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients during medical appointments, coordinating essential therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to enhance understanding and treatment of ataxia. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of resources and information for the ataxia community. 

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a background in neurology or chronic disease management and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Your role will be vital in ensuring that individuals with ataxia receive timely and appropriate care, helping them to manage their condition and maintain their quality of life.
