We are looking for experienced professionals who will perform inspection activities on behalf of The Survivors Trust (TST) Inspection Body to assess specialist rape and sexual abuse support services for conformance to TST National Service Standards.
The role of an inspector is to investigate, evaluate, assess, and determine the compliance of an organisation for conformance against specific standards within the framework of UKAS inspection requirements.
Training will be provided; however, candidates will ideally have an understanding of performing audit/inspection duties and preferably have a degree or equivalent specific to the sector, e.g. psychology, criminology, counselling etc. or a minimum 2 years’ experience working in the sector. An understanding of the practical applications of trauma informed practice and needs of service users is desirable. They will be familiar with sector specific legislation, have good understanding and application of boundaries to maintain impartiality of inspection activities, and be able to make judgements that are objective, fair and based securely on evidence. They will be clear and succinct communicators with the ability to respond professionally and calmly to challenge. A good level of education, the ability to articulate themselves in a friendly and professional manner and IT competency are essential.
This is a remote-based role and may require some travelling to locations around the UK (expenses will be reimbursed). Candidates will be expected to have the right to work in the UK, the use of required ICT equipment and software, and comply to cyber security, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
You will be required to undergo enhanced DBS clearance to work with The Survivors Trust and references will be sought.

Purpose of the role:
The Family Engagement Coordinator is vital to the success of the WellChild Family Tree Network. This is a growing network
that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with serious and complex medical needs with each other
and with WellChild. Through its online Facebook forum, and programme of activities, events and communications, it
provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and get support.
Working within the Family Team and as part of the wider Programmes team this role will report to the Family Programme
Manager and is central to the development and expansion of the WellChild Family Tree. Key to this role is taking ownership
of and delivering a well-defined WellChild Family Tree membership experience that attracts and engages families from
across the UK and includes the provision of high-quality content and regular communications.

Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.
Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.
In this role you will provide operational and line management support so that the team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers whilst working on a rota basis. You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.
The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.
With significant experience of managing a team responding to people in crisis and providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.
The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats. Additionally, you will have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
You will be highly-organised and have effective time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload. The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

Small community charitable organisations have deep understanding of the needs of those they serve. However, there is a chronic lack of funding for public and community services which create significant challenges for all organisations in the sector. Furthermore, the role of local communities in offering access to justice, shelter, basic amenities and social interaction is all too easily overlooked and/or made invisible in public discourse, central and local government policymaking and media representation.
As such, the New Economics Foundation (NEF) is undertaking a piece of research commissioned by Lloyds Bank Foundation and the Legal Education Foundation which seeks to understand the existence, operation and opportunities of organisations which are run by-and-for the communities they serve. The intention of this project is to identify barriers experienced by those working in by-and-for organisations, the values and distinctiveness of these organisations and the opportunities they offer to improve the lives of community members.
To this end we would like to offer a short freelance research contract to 4 individuals with experience of community embedded research to be co-investigators with us on the project. To be eligible for this role you need to currently be working within a by-and-for organisation (in a paid or unpaid capacity).
The work will be undertaken from mid-September to December 2024.
The day rate for this role is £400 for a maximum of 9 days’ work.
The role will be to undertake 15 semi-structured interviews (hybrid) with individuals working at all levels in by-and-for organisations, to illicit understanding of their challenges, complexities and successes. The researcher will be required to provide short written or oral reflections on each interview.
The researchers will be offered training and support from NEF’s specialists who have expertise in creative methods, co-production of knowledge and community engagement. This team will be led by Dr Abi O’Connor, who is the main point of contact between the researchers and NEF.

These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
- Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
- Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.

Background to the role
The MORSE Youth service is a new pilot project between YSS and West Mercia Youth Offending Service (WMYJS). The service will provide 1-1 support for children and young people under the age of 18 who have committed driving offences across West Mercia. Children will be referred to a 12-week behaviour change programme and will receive weekly holistic support focused on improving their resilience to peer pressure, strengthening positive relationships and developing a future action plan. This innovative pilot service aims to reduce the number of driving offences committed by under 18s and in turn reduce the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities.
Role Details
Your role will principally work with children and young people under the age of 18 who are committing driving offences and have been referred from the Youth Justice team. You will provide 12-weeks support per service user, offering a combination of face to face and remote support. You will deliver support across the whole of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin or Worcestershire and Hereforeshire and your primary base will be determined by the area closest to where you reside. There will be an expectation to work from Youth Justice Offices at agreed intervals. Mileage costs will be paid from your base to other offices. There is an expectation for the team to also support delivery in other areas, within our service, according to need.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of individuals offering practical and emotional support and delivering direct planned work with children/young people on a one-to-one basis, using a variety of interventions to achieve better outcomes and reduce re-offending behaviour.
• Accept referrals; undertake relevant assessments and develop tailor made outcome focused support plans including the delivery of the Young Driver Safety Programme.
• Work in a motivational and inspirational way to engage with children/young people to reduce impulsive behaviours, increase long term planning and develop positive future outcomes.
• Actively engage with service users to obtain feedback around decisions that affect them. • Commit to working in partnership with WMYJS and other agencies/organisations.
• Attend internal/external meetings as required and act as a lead professional where appropriate.
