We are looking for experienced professionals who will perform inspection activities on behalf of The Survivors Trust (TST) Inspection Body to assess specialist rape and sexual abuse support services for conformance to TST National Service Standards. 

The role of an inspector is to investigate, evaluate, assess, and determine the compliance of an organisation for conformance against specific standards within the framework of UKAS inspection requirements.

Training will be provided; however, candidates will ideally have an understanding of performing audit/inspection duties and preferably have a degree or equivalent specific to the sector, e.g. psychology, criminology, counselling etc. or a minimum 2 years’ experience working in the sector. An understanding of the practical applications of trauma informed practice and needs of service users is desirable. They will be familiar with sector specific legislation, have good understanding and application of boundaries to maintain impartiality of inspection activities, and be able to make judgements that are objective, fair and based securely on evidence. They will be clear and succinct communicators with the ability to respond professionally and calmly to challenge. A good level of education, the ability to articulate themselves in a friendly and professional manner and IT competency are essential.

This is a remote-based role and may require some travelling to locations around the UK (expenses will be reimbursed). Candidates will be expected to have the right to work in the UK, the use of required ICT equipment and software, and comply to cyber security, confidentiality and data protection requirements.

You will be required to undergo enhanced DBS clearance to work with The Survivors Trust and references will be sought.

provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and get support.

Working within the Family Team and as part of the wider Programmes team this role will report to the Family Programme
Manager and is central to the development and expansion of the WellChild Family Tree. Key to this role is taking ownership
of and delivering a well-defined WellChild Family Tree membership experience that attracts and engages families from
across the UK and includes the provision of high-quality content and regular communications.

Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.

In this role you will provide operational and line management support so that the team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers whilst working on a rota basis.  You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.

The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.

With significant experience of managing a team responding to people in crisis and  providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby. 

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.

The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats. Additionally, you will have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.

You will be highly-organised and have effective time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload.  The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

Small community charitable organisations have deep understanding of the needs of those they serve. However, there is a chronic lack of funding for public and community services which create significant challenges for all organisations in the sector. Furthermore, the role of local communities in offering access to justice, shelter, basic amenities and social interaction is all too easily overlooked and/​or made invisible in public discourse, central and local government policymaking and media representation.

As such, the New Economics Foundation (NEF) is undertaking a piece of research commissioned by Lloyds Bank Foundation and the Legal Education Foundation which seeks to understand the existence, operation and opportunities of organisations which are run by-and-for the communities they serve. The intention of this project is to identify barriers experienced by those working in by-and-for organisations, the values and distinctiveness of these organisations and the opportunities they offer to improve the lives of community members.

To this end we would like to offer a short freelance research contract to 4 individuals with experience of community embedded research to be co-investigators with us on the project. To be eligible for this role you need to currently be working within a by-and-for organisation (in a paid or unpaid capacity).

The work will be undertaken from mid-September to December 2024. 

The day rate for this role is £400 for a maximum of 9 days’ work.

The role will be to undertake 15 semi-structured interviews (hybrid) with individuals working at all levels in by-and-for organisations, to illicit understanding of their challenges, complexities and successes. The researcher will be required to provide short written or oral reflections on each interview.

The researchers will be offered training and support from NEF’s specialists who have expertise in creative methods, co-production of knowledge and community engagement. This team will be led by Dr Abi O’Connor, who is the main point of contact between the researchers and NEF.

Hope at Home operates a hosting scheme for survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK.  We train and support hosts to welcome a survivor facing homelessness into their homes for an agreed time period.

We are looking for a highly organised, self-motivated person with demonstrable experience of helping people find accommodation to join our team and assist our guests directly to move on from hosting.  This is a brand new, but vital role as we are only able to continue hosting if guests are provided with ways to move on from their temporary hosting placements.  As advice services, housing and support providers are increasingly overwhelmed, we plan to offer our own support for our guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject to funding award, we are recruiting an IPS Grow Workforce Manager to oversee the workforce stream. This role will ensure the effective recruitment, onboarding, and training of IPS Employment Specialists across various regions and provide leadership to the workforce development team.
This role can be based anywhere within the UK, but will require some travel.

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by Social Finance in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

The Workforce Manager will play a crucial operational role in driving the expansion and enhancement of the IPS workforce across England. This role focuses on the effective implementation of recruitment, onboarding and training processes for IPS Employment Specialists, ensuring high-quality training support and development. Reporting into the Head of Workforce and Engagement, you will lead a dedicated team, coordinate workforce activities and ensure robust data management. Your efforts will support the implementation of a comprehensive CRM system, manage a professional registration scheme, and the creation of accredited training programs, all while promoting the values of equality, diversity, and excellence in the workforce.

The key requirements of the role are:

Leadership and Management:

· Line manage the Senior Workforce Analyst and Senior Workforce Leads and task manage the activities of the Workforce Leads.

· Provide operational leadership and direction to the workforce development team.

· Ensure alignment of workforce development activities with IPS Grow's objectives and standards set by the Head of Workforce & Engagement.

· Conduct regular team meetings and provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.

· Lead on the development and delivery of a level 3 accredited qualification and apprenticeship framework for IPS, with support from Senior Workforce Leads.

Attraction, Recruitment and Onboarding:

· Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement recruitment campaigns to attract prospective applicants to the IPS workforce, enhancing the visibility and appeal of IPS roles.

· Ensure high-quality recruitment processes for IPS Employment Specialists across regions.

· Collaborate with Workforce Leads and Senior Workforce Leads to develop and implement tailored recruitment strategies using the learning from recruitment efforts at a local level.

· Oversee the coordination and facilitation of onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver high-fidelity IPS services.

 Professional Registration, Accreditation, Training and Development:

· Lead the operational development, delivery and quality of comprehensive training programs for new IPS Employment Specialists (this includes e-learning modules and face to face training).

· Ensure ongoing support and mentorship for new hires during their first year.

· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback.

· Support partners and key stakeholders to develop and manage a level 3 accredited qualification

· Lead the operational development and management of a voluntary professional registration scheme for the IPS workforce

· Track and monitor the learning and development of the IPS workforce

· Ensure compliance with professional standards and ongoing professional development requirements

 Quality Assurance and Data Reporting:

· Support the adoption and implementation of a CRM system to manage workforce data across the country.

· Ensure robust data collection processes are in place for workforce related information.

An ideal candidate will have:

• Leadership and Management Experience: Proven experience in staff management including responsibility for supporting appraisals, development of staff, recruitment, performance management and where necessary processes such as grievance and disciplinary.
• Extensive Knowledge of Workforce Development in Healthcare: Proven experience of workforce development approaches, including education development and commissioning.

Background to the role

The MORSE Youth service is a new pilot project between YSS and West Mercia Youth Offending Service (WMYJS). The service will provide 1-1 support for children and young people under the age of 18 who have committed driving offences across West Mercia. Children will be referred to a 12-week behaviour change programme and will receive weekly holistic support focused on improving their resilience to peer pressure, strengthening positive relationships and developing a future action plan. This innovative pilot service aims to reduce the number of driving offences committed by under 18s and in turn reduce the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities.

Role Details

Your role will principally work with children and young people under the age of 18 who are committing driving offences and have been referred from the Youth Justice team. You will provide 12-weeks support per service user, offering a combination of face to face and remote support. You will deliver support across the whole of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin or Worcestershire and Hereforeshire and your primary base will be determined by the area closest to where you reside. There will be an expectation to work from Youth Justice Offices at agreed intervals. Mileage costs will be paid from your base to other offices. There is an expectation for the team to also support delivery in other areas, within our service, according to need.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of individuals offering practical and emotional support and delivering direct planned work with children/young people on a one-to-one basis, using a variety of interventions to achieve better outcomes and reduce re-offending behaviour.

• Accept referrals; undertake relevant assessments and develop tailor made outcome focused support plans including the delivery of the Young Driver Safety Programme.

• Work in a motivational and inspirational way to engage with children/young people to reduce impulsive behaviours, increase long term planning and develop positive future outcomes.

• Actively engage with service users to obtain feedback around decisions that affect them. • Commit to working in partnership with WMYJS and other agencies/organisations.

• Attend internal/external meetings as required and act as a lead professional where appropriate.

• Ensure children/young people are actively involved in decision making.

• Attend local stakeholder meetings, as well as local multiagency events to promote YSS and raise the profile of the MORSE Youth service.

• Undertake project self-administration including maintaining database records, recording and monitoring performance targets and assisting in providing data for monthly and quarterly reports

• Participate constructively in team meetings and supervision with the line manager as well as undertaking appropriate training as required and appropriate.

• Risk assess and take the necessary actions in respect of any activities/engagement undertaken with service users including personal safety, lone-working and safeguarding.
