We are seeking Gambling Support Practitioners with qualifications or experience in health or social care, and an empathic approach to help people change their behaviour through skilled intervention. You will deliver psychosocial and recovery support interventions as part of a cohesive recovery plan, working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

There will be lots of opportunity to participate in service promotion, networking activities and events to support the visibility of the service, as well as developing relationships with local services and communities to strengthen pathways into the service. 

We require a full-time commitment, including working three days from 9-5pm and two days from 12-8pm per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely).

About you

If you are passionate about supporting others to make positive changes in their lives and want to make a difference by providing interventions to people impacted by gambling, we would love to hear from you. You should have significant experience in individual client work in the fields of addictions, mental health, or social care, working with adults or young people. Flexibility in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools, is essential.

The successful candidate should live within a reasonable distance from GamCare’s London office, as there will be expectations to work from the office when required and travel across Greater London for service delivery or community events.

About the role:

This role is based In Pontypool Police Station however we have currently adopted a hybrid model. As a Triage and Early Interventions Officer you will:

• act as the first point of contact for clients referred to the service, completing impact & risks assessments & providing a tailored response
• follow agreed processes to contact victims of domestic abuse & sexual violence
• manage a caseload of clients requiring immediate & short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs
• maintain accurate & confidential case management records providing performance information as required
• respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
• ensure that all clients are of aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice & the Witness Charter

You will need:

• a good understanding & use of the English language both verbally and in writing
• knowledge of safeguarding issues
• the ability to manage a demanding workload to meet a range of conflicting deadlines
• expereince in developing & maintaining partnerships with internal & external stakeholders
• Good telephone & IT skills required to use a database
• to work as part of a team as well as working independently without direct supervision

About the role:

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

These roles are based in our Victim Care Unit in Ashford. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm. Shifts are designated on a rota basis and scheduled well in advance so you can plan ahead. You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.

Job Purpose

This role is within our crisis alternative emergency department (ED) service, which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who present at A&E, feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service will work collaboratively with hospital Psychiatric Liaison Team (LPS) to ensure those in crisis are supported by the appropriate team. The service will operate 365 days a year from 5pm-1am across three ED’s in West London. 

Staff within the service will triage, assess and provide face-to-face support to anyone who is experiencing mental health crisis. This will be person-centred and will be in various forms of de-escalation support; practical, emotional support, grounding techniques, safety planning, care/action planning etc. Staff within the service will work alongside LPS and escalate if clinical intervention is required. Staff will also actively participate in MDT discussions for frequent attenders and take a key role in initiating and promoting alternative crisis support in the aim of preventing A&E use. Staff in our Safe Space ED service are required to have experience in a mental health clinical setting (such as inpatient, A&E, or other clinical setting) however, they do not need to hold a clinical qualification for this role.

The Role

The role of the crisis practitioner will be to work collaboratively with LPS and service users to de-escalate crises in ED. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, alongside LPS. The crisis practitioner’s duty will be to de-escalate low/moderate mental health and social needs and deliver collaborative self-management plans with service users to improve mental wellbeing and reduction in A&E attendance. The crisis practitioner will also be responsible for linking in and signposting follow up support with our community Safe Space team. This role does not include clinical intervention. The crisis practitioner will be required to raise and follow up on safeguarding concerns, with support by the Team Manager.

Person Specification

• Minimum of 2 years working in clinical mental health services or settings 
• Minimum of 2 years supporting clients experiencing severe mental health distress and crisis
• Minimum of 2 years supporting clients with moderate/severe mental health 
• Extensive experience of managing challenging behaviour and dealing with clients with complex needs

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team at the Guildford Foyer, which is one of our 24-hour supported housing services offering high quality support and accommodation to 33 young people, ages 16-25 who have multiple and complex needs, including many who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. Our specialist supported accommodation is a safe and secure environment where young people are supported to acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently and can safely explore their increased freedom and choice and develop the responsibilities associated with adulthood.

As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. 

You will be helping them to improve their practical living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking, and securing employment and making wise decisions. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. 

In addition, you will work closely with external services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. Our services already have excellent working relationships with them, and your role will build on these. 

Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Age UK are recruiting for a Retail Support Administrator with exceptional customer service skills to join their busy Retail Help Desk team based in Warrington. In this role you will offer specific administrative and operational support to a Divisional Sales Team and provide first line support through the Customer Services Helpline. Thus, playing your part in supporting the Retail Division in generating much needed income to help Age UK in its mission to improve the lives of older people.

This unique opportunity to be part of a Divisional Team consisting of Area Managers and covering a wide geographical base from your operating desk in Warrington will not only support the Division, but also the national charities 265 shops alongside your fellow Retail Support Administrators.

No two days will be the same, whether it be receiving inbound calls and emails or customer enquiries. A vital element of the role will be processing all stock donation calls that the Help Desk receives, and then contacting the relevant field staff for a final action plan. Your support in all aspects of customer and shop enquiries will be crucial to the Divisional Sales Manager to ensure the Division's administrative operations are run efficiently and cost effectively.

This opportunity will require you to have strong IT skills, especially Excel and the ability to collate accurate information from a variety of sources to supply to the Retail Division.

This role is based at the Warrington office.

Must haves:

• Office based experience working within an administrative environment or supporting a retail estate.
• Ability to work with range of peer groups within the organisation to include volunteers, staff and senior managers.
• Empathic approach to customer service/signposting
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft365 and Windows 10 applications, particularly Excel, MS Teams & Outlook.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Great to haves:

• Knowledge of logistical requirements that service a multi-site retail organisation, preferably system based

About the organisation

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.
The Emma Project, Daria House and Jan’s Place are specialist services providing refuge and support services to women who have been subjected to domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse, including women who have been sexually exploited, including through prostitution and who also use substances problematically.

About the post

These posts are currently funded until 31st March 2026 with a possibility of further extension. You will work closely alongside the refuges Team Leader and Service Manager to implement and deliver a trauma informed approach to refuge services.

About the role:

This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working. As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will:

• Conduct needs and risk assessments to ensure each CYP receives an individual support package that meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support.
• Provide one to one support to children & young people living in families affected by domestic abuse, managing a caseload of approx. 12-15
• Regularly review the assessment of risk ensuring appropriate action is taken, making referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes
• Consult & involve children & young people in making decisions about themselves & service developments
• Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, attending meetings as required

You will need:

• Experience working directly with vulnerable children & young people aged 4 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to engage these clients through creative & appropriate methods
• Knowledge of risk assessment & taking appropriate action to safeguard as required
• An understanding of the issues for children & young people experiencing crime, domestic abuse and relationship abuse
• Ability to work with both internal & external stakeholders
• Effective organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively whilst maintaining accurate & confidential case records
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Good IT skills including Word, Excel, databases, internet and Outlook

Service Aims
