We are seeking a Treasurer to report to our Chairman and Board of Directors here at WRM. Music making is at the heart of our charity’s objectives, offering a wide rage of inclusive activities for anyone who is interested in getting involved with music, regardless of skills or knowledge.
Whilst this role is voluntary, the position is an integral part of the organisation as the Treasurer is also a Trustee and will participate in all Trustee discussions and decisions. The Board of Trustees meet up to 6 times per year at the Head Office in Trowbridge, but communicate regularly via email at other times. You will ensure that the organisation’s financial practices are reviewed regularly to safeguard its financial position, and have the enthusiasm to move the charity forward.

A bit about this role
If you enjoy driving and would love to use those skills to help our cats, this could be the role for you. Our transport volunteers provide vital assistance to our teams and volunteer groups in the local area by transporting equipment, litter, food– and even cats! They have the essential role of connecting our network of volunteers, sites, vets and supporters.
Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection, we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help.

We are looking for a volunteer to create and facilitate sessions and discussion groups with our volunteers and service users on a variety of subjects for our Learning and Development programme. You will work closely with the Volunteering Team to establish what volunteers and service users would like covered in the programme and then plan, organise and prepare a series of workshops. The National Education Nature Park launched in October 2023 - a new Department for Education funded programme empowering young people (from Early Years through to Further Education) to take action on the environment as part of new measures designed to put climate change at the heart of education.
Sitting within the RHS Learning division, as South West Senior Programme Officer for the National Education Nature Park you will:
- Develop and deliver a regional strategy that meets overarching programme KPIs on settings engaging with the programme
- Build and access networks that support education settings to connect with nature through the programme, and build skills for engaging and influencing on the value of outdoor learning and improving biodiversity on the education estate
- Manage a programme officer to enable a broad range of schools and education settings to participate in the programme. As a regional team you will work to establish widespread, meaningful and sustained engagement with the programme
- Connect with senior school leaders across the region to engage them with the programme. You will develop partnerships and networks at a regional level with local authorities, businesses, and organisations in the education and charity sectors to provide additional support for schools and help sustain them on their Nature Park journey.
- Working with the multidisciplinary programme partnership to provide on the gorund insights and testing of programme elements
- Raise awareness of the RHS National Education Nature Park grant programme

About National Education Nature Park
National Education Nature Park is a partnership project led by the Natural History Museum, working with the Royal Horticultural Society, the Royal Society, Royal Geographical Society, Learning through Landscapes, Manchester Metropolitan University and additional supporting partners.
The National Education Nature Park will engage children, young people and their educators with nature, supporting young people in England to play a driving role in mapping and monitoring biodiversity on their grounds using citizen science and, critically, taking action to enhance it.
From creating pollinator friendly habitats where biodiversity can thrive, to digging ponds, or creating planting schemes that support climate resilience, the project will showcase what can be achieved on the Education estate.
The Nature Park will also provide opportunities for young people to take part in community science, identifying local impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss and developing key skills to solve these problems.

About the role
Due to our current Treasurer’s term of office reaching an end in December 2024, we are seeking a treasurer to join the Trustee board of a small online health charity that helps millions of people each year.
The charity is at an exciting time, expanding our ways of working and developing new revenue streams. As a Treasurer you will provide support with financial accounting and reporting. In addition, as a trustee you will provide guidance, expertise and support to the team and help ensure that the charity is meeting its aims. There will be opportunities to get involved in discrete projects and you may be asked for ad hoc advice or input from time to time.
We are looking for someone who can commit to meet with the rest of the trustee board and leadership team four times a year. Meetings last for around 3 hours and usually take place in Oxford on a weekday afternoon. The Treasurer will also be required to meet with the CEO and finance team (online), prior to each trustee meeting, to finalise quarterly finance reports.

We’re looking to build a small team of volunteers for our local Hedgerow Heroes project, to enhance the quality of the landscape and grow local community engagement and support for CPRE.
You'll join a group of enthusiastic volunteers helping to carry out a range of tasks to support hedgerow restoration, such as hedge-laying, ground clearance and tree planting. There may also be surveying and general conservation tasks to help restore and monitor the wildlife and landscape value of the countryside.

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the iconic Alexandra and Ainsworth estate* in the Kilburn ward of Camden NW London, an area of high rates of deprivation and poverty but big potential. Our mission is to enable young people and adults to overcome barriers to economic and social inclusion. We engage with residents and young people through a range of activities based at the SHELL Centre (a well-equipped resource centre) and the ARC youth club and music studio. Through these we offer a range of exciting and highly creative projects working in innovative ways with the local community.
Shak was established in 2003 and has a committed board of 6 trustees, staff team and volunteers who have played a key role in supporting the community during the recent COVID 19 and cost of living crisis. Impressive recent growth means that we wish to strengthen the board through the appointment of individuals who ideally have links to the area, time and skills to contribute towards the good governance of the organisation and support our work in the local community.
We are seeking 2-3 new trustees with skills and time to commit to fundraising. We are particularly interested in recruiting people who live locally and increasing representation at board level from minority communities. You would be joining at an exciting time when we are undertaking a strategic review and setting in place a new plan forward
Appointments are initially for three years, with the opportunity for re-election, up to a maximum of nine years. Trustees are unpaid, but reasonable out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed. The board meets quarterly (every 3 months) and has an Annual General Meeting. Between meetings, you may be asked to take on one or two other commitments such as supporting specific projects or areas of work e.g. Fundraising applications
Candidates will need to have or be willing to undertake a DBS check and child protection training.

About our opportunities
Canine Partners are looking for caring family homes to provide pre-planned care for holidays, emergencies, rehabilitation and rehoming for dogs in partnership, change of career dogs or retired dogs waiting for their forever home. We welcome registration for one or all our foster roles in the areas, Aberdeenshire, Invernesshire and Ayrshire.
What we require from you

The primary Fosterer must be 18 years or over.

Be in Aberdeenshire, Invernesshire or Ayrshire areas of Scotland

If you are a dog owner, you can have two pet dogs of suitable temperament. Your pet dogs will be assessed as part of the home assessment. They must be over 18 months of age.

At home for most of the day

Access to own transport to travel to vet appointments.

Reside in a house/bungalow/ground floor flat with a dog friendly secure garden (non-shared).

To maintain the dog’s health, welfare. With support and training, to recognise behaviour/health concerns, report them immediately to your Canine Partners staff support.

Settling your foster dog into a new home requires time and patience, from them and you. It can take a while for them to feel completely relaxed. Settling in period will be different with each puppy/dog.

Keep in touch with your staff point of contact with regular updates.

Understand that the dog in your care remains under the ownership of Canine Partners.
Support and Training

Induction process which includes submitting of information form, telephone interview, home visit, training, and handling sessions

We allocate a Canine Partners trainer/staff point of contact as your first point of contact.

Receive regular training, resources, and other essential information via your trainer. This may be in the format of physical copies, digital, webinars or in person.

No previous dog ownership experience is needed but you must meet the criteria listed above to be considered.
