About The Felix Project
The Felix Project is London’s leading food redistribution charity, dedicated to ensuring good food is never wasted and no one goes hungry. Last year, our nearly 180 staff and over 15,000 volunteers collected 32 million meals of surplus food, distributing it to Londoners in need through a network of over 1,100 community organisations, charities, and schools.
In London, one in five households with children lack reliable access to nutritious food, while the UK wastes 20 tonnes of food per second. The cost of living in London has risen by 24% in the last three years, and food prices continue to climb. About 14% of working families have turned to food support services for the first time in the past year, and 100,000 London families have less than £3 a day for food.
Our work has never been more needed, and demand continues to grow: we are building our expertise and impact in response. The Felix Project now operates from four main depots in North, South, East, and West London, with ‘point-to-point’ projects in Central London and Canary Wharf. The East London depot has a kitchen producing up to 5,000 meals per day from surplus food. A new 'Multibank' in Ealing distributes non-food essentials.
Purpose of the Job
The Health & Safety Assistant will support the Health & Safety Lead in ensuring that The Felix Project complies with all relevant health, safety, and food safety legislation. This role is integral in maintaining a safe working environment across all our operations, assisting in the implementation of safety policies, and ensuring continuous improvement in health and safety practices. The Health & Safety Assistant will work closely with staff, volunteers, and external partners to promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
Benefits
- 25 days annual leave per annum (+ bank holidays) plus up to 5 days additional leave for length of service.
- Enhanced Maternity and Paternity leave.
- Birthday day off.
- Access to benefit platform for a wide range of discounts on everyday spends plus gym discounts.
- Training and development opportunities.
- Employee assistance programme including 24 Hour GP helpline.
- Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Opportunity for free meals whilst working at our depots.
We deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.

About Rank Prize
Founded by Lord Rank in 1972, Rank Prize stimulates and celebrates research in optoelectronics and nutrition; the two fields of research at the heart of Lord Rank’s interests and businesses. We not only award substantial prizes in recognition of significant advances in the relevant fields of science, but also actively promote the extension and spread of knowledge in these areas of research. Our initiatives include organising symposia, sponsoring lectures, and awarding grants to support training and facilitate career development, with a special focus on students and early career researchers.
Rank Symposia
Our symposia provide a unique platform for scientific exchange, facilitating in-depth discussions and exchanges of knowledge among participants who have expertise in a particular subject relating to optoelectronics or nutrition. The symposia play a crucial role in advancing scientific knowledge, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and stimulating further research in the fields.
Our symposia are intentionally kept small, ensuring a focused and engaging experience for all participants. With approximately ten internationally-recognised speakers at the forefront of their respective fields, these symposia bring together a select group of brilliant minds, eager to share their groundbreaking research and insights. Alongside these distinguished speakers, we also invite around 20 early-career researchers, recognising the importance of nurturing the next generation of scientific pioneers.
By fostering an intimate and inclusive environment, our symposia inspire intellectual growth, spark innovation, and cultivate a vibrant scientific community. We believe that these transformative gatherings have the power to ignite new ideas, drive research breakthroughs, and ultimately shape the trajectory of scientific advancement.
The Rank Prize
The Rank Prize is a prestigious award recognising significant contributions in the fields of nutrition and optoelectronics. The Prize is awarded biennially at our prizegiving ceremonies. These events gather an audience of around 150 distinguished individuals including renowned professionals, academics, influential leaders and experts in the fields of nutrition and optoelectronics, who come together to celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of the honoured recipients.
Location and travel
We all work remotely, however travel and overnight stays are required as part of the role. You'll attend around 3-4 symposia a year, which run from Mondays to Thursdays and are currently held in the Lake District. You'll also attend 2-3 half-day meetings in London a year, which may require overnight stays depending on how far away from London you live. It would be helpful if you had a full UK driving license and access to your own car.

Gingerbread exists to fight for the nearly 2 million single parents in England and Wales and their children. With roots stretching back over 100 years, we have a long history of highly effective campaigning that has redefined the regard in which single parents are held, and a track record of delivering well-respected single-parent focused services. We are working to achieve our vision of a world in which all single parents and their children thrive.
But against the backdrop of the cost-of-living crisis, too many single parents are currently battling to feed their families and pay their bills each month. That is why the work that we do is as important now as it ever was, and so last year we launched a new strategy that works to deliver support for today and change for tomorrow. Over the coming years, we will seek to grow our income and reach, taking a systems-change approach to discrimination and attitudes and a programmatic approach to delivering our services and campaigns.
The landscape over the coming years will continue to be challenging for so many charities like ours. With less funding available and higher costs of delivery, we must ensure that we remain agile and resilient for the future so that we can respond to opportunities as they arise. We are looking for a skilled Head of Finance & Resources to join us on a 6–9-month contract basis to help drive improvements across our finance, HR and IT functions, delivering efficiencies and smarter ways of working through better use of systems, more integrated budgeting processes and robust controls.
Our Head of Finance & Resources is a key member of our senior management team (SMT), and you will be working closely with the CEO, Board and wider SMT on all financial matters as we look to deliver against our strategy and grow our fundraising presence. The role will require a high degree of internal management and empathetic leadership style to ensure you bring your team with you through during the period of change.
We are looking for an experienced leader and qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational finance skills gained in the charity sector, including knowledge of supporting fundraising strategies. You will have good project management skills and experience of leading change management or continuous improvement programmes. You will also have a collaborative and selfless style, with the ability to inspire those around you and instil confidence at all levels.

Are you driven by a passion for health equity and justice for women from diverse backgrounds? Do you want to transform lives by amplifying the voices of women who are often overlooked?
At Sister Circle, we are a local, multicultural women-led charity with over 40 years of experience in enabling women from marginalised communities to empower themselves. Our mission is to support those most at risk of poor healthcare outcomes—especially in sexual, reproductive, and mental health—by fostering trusted relationships and delivering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care.
We are on a mission to reshape how women’s health services cater to those who are least likely to be heard. To achieve this, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Head of Community Engagement and Communications to lead the way. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in creating the space for women, particularly refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, to directly influence the healthcare services they need and deserve.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced community engager with a deep understanding of working with diverse, marginalised communities of women.
- Is passionate about creating safe spaces for underrepresented women to shape the services that affect them.
- Thrives on collaboration and innovation and brings strong leadership experience.
- Has a proven track record of developing strategies that bring about real, measurable change.
Why Join Sister Circle?
This is a unique opportunity to be transforming women’s healthcare in underserved communities. You will be part of a small team, working closely with our Chief Executive, senior leaders, team, volunteers and beneficiaries to create real, lasting impact.
