The Role

The Primary Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting children affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Working closely with families and primary schools, you will help identify individual needs, develop tailored solutions, and advocate for children’s education and wellbeing.

You will:

• Conduct baseline assessments to understand children's specific needs.
• Provide advice and guidance to parents on school applications, transitions, and educational rights.
• Liaise between families and schools, ensuring teachers are informed about children's needs and support.

About the Organisation

The Grenfell Education Hub will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children, young people, their families, and local schools.

Following a consultation process in 2023 and 2024, the hub will bring together a team of professionals, including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. Their time will be split between direct work with children and families in the hub and supporting local schools.

Time for young people is our emotional wellbeing support space for young people in Gateshead. Time for young people empowers young people to take time for themselves.

Do you want to support a team who work with children, young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties?

The post holder will support Children, Young People, and Young Adults in our Emotional Health & Wellbeing services based in Gateshead by offering low intensity support under a brief intervention framework.

It is planned to offer drop in sessions where young people can drop in and meet trained staff one to one. Young people can come along and talk through what they are struggling with. The service holds no waiting lists and therefore the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.

Alongside our drop-in support, we also offer young people more structured one-to-one sessions, alongside group-based work.

We are looking for a Wellbeing Practitioner that:

-Has a genuine passion and working knowledge of young people and mental health.

-Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with CYP and families

-Experience of working in settings with young people who have emotional, behavioural and/or mental health concerns.

-Has a background or worked in Health Care, Education, Youth Work or Social work

-Able to provide direct low level therapeutic support that is person centred.

-Able to deliver improved wellbeing for children &young people presenting in crisis.

-A good working knowledge of Mental and Emotional Health Issues that young people face today, including interventions on how to support young people in overcoming these challenges.

Due to the fast paced environment and use of computers for clinical record keeping, you will need to have a good level of IT skills.

About the role:

Respect is looking for a new Safe & Together Implementation Lead to cover maternity leave for the current postholder. This role is primarily based in Croydon and Bedfordshire local authorities. We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience in service delivery within the Children's Services and Domestic Abuse sectors, including monitoring, evaluation, and improvement. You will be a confident planner and negotiator within the sector, providing training, consultations, and coaching. 

About you:

• Track record of driving service delivery improvements in the Children's Service relating to Domestic Abuse and children's safeguarding.
• Demonstrate a commitment to – and understanding of – the values, aims and objectives of Respect 
• Ability to handle sensitive information, and work with discretion 
• Experience in practice development and coaching
• Ability produce briefings for a wide range of actors, and negotiate with key stakeholders within the local authority 
• Ability to use your own initiative as well as part of a team

About the role:

This is an exciting and busy role with broad responsibilities across the programme and includes project management and administration.

You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of an extensive portfolio of activities to strengthen health systems and improve the quality of health care globally, working closely with their members (NHS staff volunteers) and partners.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

• Provide management, finance and administrative support for the health partnerships including support for virtual and remote training and mentorship activities.
• Provide comprehensive management and stewardship of CGHP members. Ensure members’ data is stored safely and securely on the CRM database.
• Provide support to grant management, especially expenditure tracking and donor reporting.
• Support Gender Equality and Social Inclusion activities .

About You:

To be successful in the role of Programme Officer you will need to have project management experience and excellent organisational and administration skills, be someone who is particularly good at interacting with others, and who can prioritise workloads effectively and work flexibly to meet shifting demands. 

You will also need to have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience.
• Evidenced commitment to and interest in global health work.
• Project management experience, preferably in the international development/health sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.
• Experience in office administration
