About the role 

The Natural History Museum is seeking a proactive and self-starting, ambitious, driven, creative and forward-thinking Internal Communications Manager to support its 1100 members of staff, across three sites. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of the Museum’s internal communications strategy.

You will relish seeking out (and prioritising!) the vast amounts of news within the organisation – creating engaging content that resonates with colleagues.  With a creative, inclusive and strategic approach to delivering engaging employee communications, you will ensure the Museum adopts best practice. You will be encouraged to explore and share new innovations in internal communications.

This role has a broad remit to develop and manage internal communications for the Museum that informs and celebrates the varied work of colleagues from creating temporary exhibitions, delivering world-famous visitor events and leading the transformation of the Museum’s galleries, to the ground-breaking research conducted by our 350 scientists.

Supporting a wide range of internal communications activities, this role will inform, engage and motivate colleagues about the Museum’s vision and mission and all the vital work the Museum is undertaking to create advocates for the planet.

You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering impactful communications strategies that incorporate in-person and online events and digital communications which are effective throughout a multi-site organisation.

About you

A talented self-starter, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to establish good working relationships quickly. You will be a creative storyteller with good attention to detail, accustomed to working proactively with a breadth of stakeholders to develop compelling narratives and impactful communications.

With proven experience managing a breadth of Internal Communications channels and in-person and hybrid events, you must be comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, varied environment. You will have experience managing crisis communications.

You will play a key role in advising colleagues, including the Executive Board, on Internal Communications and in supporting the development and maintenance of Internal Communications channels.

A strong working knowledge of Charity Commission and SORP reporting requirements is essential, along with experience in creating and implementing strategic finance initiatives. You should also have a background in managing audits and working within governance and risk management frameworks.

About the Role:

This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our Singer Street offices, Islington, London for a minimum of one day a week and home working, subject to operational demand. As a Deputy Head of Service you will assist the Head of Service (HoS) to deliver consistently safe, high-quality support for all service users across the Service and ensure contractual targets are met. You will deputise in the absence of the HoS.

• Assist the HoS to deliver a high-quality service across London, meeting funder requirements and deputising in HoS absence.
• Coordinate of the continuous improvement of the DA Service, ensuring consistent implementation across all aspects of the Service.
• Facilitate consultation across the teams and other key stakeholders to develop new and build on existing good practice, implement and support the strategic direction of the regional business plan.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, ensuring appropriate and effective delivery of services to survivors, including, safeguarding, risk assessment, needs assessment, safety planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs.
• Drive continuous improvement of performance through use of data and other operational information to ensure teams perform to the highest standards at all times. This will include developing further data sources/requirements to ensure where possible all aspects of DA Service performance are evidenced.
• Coordinate the auditing and analysis of data and other information required for the performance and monitoring reports for the commissioner as well as ad hoc requests from partners, HoS and/or Director.
• Help build on and lead external relationships promoting positive working relationships to ensure the best possible support and outcomes is provided to eligible service users.
• Ensure we are meeting the needs of our service users to a standard as expected of our commissioners and partners.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Job purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00 (midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. 

​We have 2 positions available. Onefull time positions at our Ealing site, and one part time (3 days a week) at our Hounslow site.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc. 
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

We are seeking one candidate, who has proven experience of delivering support and training services for vulnerable adults, such as in the mental health or addiction sectors. Experience either serving in the military or working with Veterans is important for this role. The Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator will supervise and work with voluntary Peer Supporters, ensuring a safe and effective network of support is established.

The post holder will work alongside the Head of Peer Support services to oversee recruitment and training of Peer Supporters, assess for additional support needs and personal development goals, and ensure that they are adequately prepared and trained for the role. Thereafter, the Peer Aid Co-ordinator will manage cohorts of Peer Supporters and monitor and evaluate their engagement with referred service users. This will include helping to provide additional services, such as group meetings and meet ups.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Development and delivery

• Be an ambassador for peer support and mutual aid.

• Work with the team to design, develop and deliver training.

As Sporting Events Manager, you will: 

• Support the Assistant Head of Events & Community Fundraising to generate income through their Sporting Events programme of walking, running and cycling activities. The income for the events team is c.£3.3m, with expenditure of c.£1.1m.
• Lead on strategy and delivery of PCUK’s flagship walking event, March for Men, which raises c.£450k. You will project manage the event, co-creating and managing the recruitment marketing plan, delivering the supporter journey to drive participant value and working with an external delivery partners

About the Role:
As our Senior Marketing Officer (Supporter Activation) you will project lead our highly successful water bill insert campaign (managed in close collaboration with the Water Industry Partnership Team). Overseeing the delivery of these campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, as well as the development of new ideas to maximise the opportunities offered by this relationship.

You’ll support the Marketing Manager and wider team in the day-to-day development, management and delivery of a number of fundraising campaigns. In particular our successful DRTV programme, managing the relationship with our telemarketing agency and support in planning and delivery of new creative.

You’ll also: 

• Managing our response handling agency to ensure effective conversion of response for our DRTV campaigns through regular monitoring and testing; providing training and development and analysing results regularly. 
• Manage agency relationships; overseeing the management and development of any campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, collaborating with external partners, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of the project and escalation of potential problems.
• Help develop and manage expenditure and income budgets. Help create the budget, to monitor monthly management accounts and key performance indicators and to undertake reforecasts as required. 
• Regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse campaigns, providing regular results and recommendations for strategy development based on reviews and analysis.
• Liaise with team leaders and project managers in other departments to identify and implement new cross-working opportunities utilising specialist knowledge and experience in direct marketing. 
• Remain up-to-date about developments in the external market-place and assess the suitability of new, innovative approaches for recruiting supporters to remain competitive.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that all supporter communications are consistent with the WaterAid brand, working closely with the International, Policy and Campaigns, and Communications teams.

About You:

• Successful track record of working in a direct marketing role, including proven experience of planning and executing campaigns across different channels, including digital.
• Experience of managing telemarketing, call handling and large-scale print campaigns
• Experience of managing creative development, including writing creative briefs, working with creative agencies, ensuring the correct sign off procedures are followed, and appropriate stakeholders consulted. 
• Project management experience including identifying opportunities and managing through to implementation.
• Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities.

Governance and Planning Manager

This role sits within the Irish Chaplaincy IC Traveller Equality Project team.  Responsibilities include:

Liaise with London Probation, prisons and other agencies to advance equality of opportunity for the GRT community; assist in giving presentations; Probation office visit with easy reading culturally specific books, GRT resources, take part in market style events, explain services, deliver presentations in person and over teams, participate in relevant conferences and meetings.

Deliver an effective advocacy service to the GRT community in prison and their families in response to referrals arising from prison visiting, allocating follow up casework as necessary. Provide advocacy with a wide range of external bodies.

Take responsibility for caseload of clients and to liaise with others in the service delivery to provide comprehensive service to those preparing for release / re settlement and those on probation in the community in London.

Provide, by telephone, email and letter, information about legal and penal systems to prisoners and their families and put them in touch with agencies for specialised help. Mail outs / resource packs to prisoners. Data form management.

Proactively engage with HMPPS, legal/welfare groups and other relevant organisations as requested by GRT prisoners while they are in prison and on probation

Keep, collate and maintain accurate detailed records for own work (via database) ensuring adherence to data protection rules; maintain the cultural and educational resources of the Project; disseminate resources to prisons and other relevant bodies; assist with the production of a newsletter; contribute material to quarterly reports, funder applications and other reports.

The postholder will provide advice, guidance and coaching to parents and carers of children aged 11+ years to help them to develop new awareness and skills to enhance their support to their children through a combination of group-work and one-to-one sessions. We are looking to recruit an empathic, warm, friendly, hard-working and flexible person who is passionate about supporting parents and carers whose children are experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. They must be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage their own workload. They must be able to work independently within the community.

-To work collaboratively and effectively with statutory and voluntary agencies 
to identify parents/carers in need of support and to agree effective referral 
processes.

– To design, develop and deliver workshops and presentations for small 
parent/carer groups covering a range of emotional wellbeing and mental

– To offer one or more one-to-one consultation and advice sessions for

– To work in partnership with Home-Start Epsom, Ewell and Banstead who will 
provide support to parents/carers with children aged under 11 years.

– To promote the service within YMCA East Surrey and with statutory and 
voluntary sector partners across the region – this might include presentations 
at networking events and production of promotional material.

– To collect appropriate data and information about families being supported, to 
record attendance at group and one-to-one sessions and to report activity 
monthly

-To collect feedback on support delivered and to use feedback to inform 
continued development of the service.

– You will deliver services from YMCA East Surrey sites and other community 
venues across the following areas – Banstead, Tadworth, Epsom, Ewell, 
Ashtead, Leatherhead, Dorking and Esher.

– Any other duties which you are required to be performed within the grade and 
renumeration of the role.

You'll lead the scheduling and coordination of the statutory annual review process and be responsible for planning, organising, minuting and drafting all annual review paperwork.
