In a recent survey by Creative Scotland, Arts & Diversity Survey, half of respondents in the minority ethnic or mixed groups stated their ethnicity was a barrier, with a quarter stating it is a significant or very significant barrier. This compares with 5% of white respondents.

The HMSA is a small and dynamic charity that helps those living with hypermobility syndromes (and carers and families) to be independent and live well. We also provide education for professionals in social care, health, teaching and local authority employees. We have big plans to expand our offer to our members and professionals, as well as raise the profile of the charity and hypermobility syndromes. We are seeking to appoint up to 2 new trustees. Refugee Biryani & Bananas is looking for a Treasurer with a passion for financial management and accounting to join our Trustees Board to oversee the financial health of the charity and cement the financial literacy of the organisation at Board level. The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL) is one of the largest immigration and asylum advice charities in the UK, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to access justice. Duties:
- Support and provide advice on RAMFEL’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.
- Review and approve organisation strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their effective and efficient implementation.
- Oversee RAMFEL’s financial plans, budgets, and statements, and monitor and evaluate progress
- Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
- Provide support and challenge to RAMFEL’s management team in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.
- Keep abreast of changes in RAMFEL’s operating environment.
- Contribute to regular reviews of RAMFEL’s own governance.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of RAMFEL’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
What we are looking for

- Migrants or refugees, who have lived experience of the impact of immigration policy and practice.
- Expertise in RAMFEL’s core service delivery, especially regarding advice or immigration
- Experience of campaigning and/or external communications
- Organisational and administrative skills
Previous governance experience is desirable but not essential and we will provide a full induction to the organisation and the workings of the board.

In the UK, more than 2 million people live with sight loss. Of those, 270,000 are severely sight-impaired or blind, and 450,000 experience visual acuity below 6/18. People with vision impairment can lack access to basic information unless this is provided in accessible formats. Under the Equality Act 2010, a print-disabled person has the right to receive information in an accessible format. About the Treasurer Trustee Role

The Treasurer plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health, stability, and accountability of Rebuilding Lives UK. They oversee financial strategy, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide guidance on long-term financial sustainability. The Treasurer ensures that financial risks are identified and managed appropriately while making financial information accessible to the board. Trustees are expected to be actively involved in the charity’s work, providing hands-on support where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure financial policies and procedures are followed and regularly reviewed.
- Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Support financial decision-making and long-term financial planning.
- Work closely with auditors and external financial advisors.
- Monitor financial health, ensuring reserves are maintained and risks mitigated.
- Present financial reports to the board in an accessible, non-technical manner.
- Assist in fundraising strategy development and grant applications where necessary.

For over seventy years the Osteopathic Foundation (formerly the Osteopathic Education Foundation) has been supporting osteopathic education, research, and development through our grant-giving programmes. Since 2000, we have distributed over £1 million of support to advance osteopathic practice in its contribution to patient care.
We are seeking a new non-executive to join our committee to aid this important work.
You should have broad experience and a practical attitude with a proven track record, ideally in the charitable sector, with experience in one or more of; fund & financial management, familiarity with higher education & research, reviewing grant applications, and/or fundraising.
Osteopathic or medical experience is not a prerequisite for this role, but interest in health and patient care is welcome.
The Committee meets quarterly online/in person to approve grants, monitor investment performance and report on activities. Please see the attached role specification for full details of the responsibilities.

Initially established as the Osteopathic Education Foundation to support students in financial need, it is today under the trusteeship of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO), during which time its impact has extended significantly to support the advancement of the osteopathic profession in its contribution to patient care.
The iO, as the lead body in the profession, has a clear and mandated mission to improve patient care by supporting and developing the education and practice of osteopathy, and universal access to osteopathic care.
