Job description

Making Music is the UK association for leisure-time music, with 4,000 music groups in membership including choirs, bands, ensembles of all kinds, orchestras, and more.

We are now looking for a part-time (3 days per week/22.5 hours a week) Marketing & Sales Manager.

This is a key role within the Membership & Services team and works closely with the Membership & Services Manager, the Deputy CEO for Membership & Business Development, and the Communications Manager, to help Making Music grow its membership, retain current members, and deepen its engagement with existing members, encouraging their uptake of services, resources and other opportunities.

This role is for someone with experience in marketing who is ready to take on a role with greater responsibility and strategic input.

We would expect you to develop and implement a marketing strategy on recruitment and retention of members, as well as various marketing campaigns related to particular services and activities Making Music offers.

We are looking for the best person for this role, whatever your past opportunities, so we are asking you to complete three tasks online, and your answers to these will be the only information the two staff members making a longlist will look at.

We understand that having different voices from all sections of society in our team will help us be the best organisation we can be and best support our diverse membership. We especially welcome applications from disabled people, people of the Global Majority or people whose socio-economic background has limited their opportunities.

The 22.5 hours per week can be worked flexibly, and at least some of them from home, by agreement with your line manager, but we would expect you, if at all possible, to spend at least 2 days or 2 part-days each week in our office by London Bridge.

This is a friendly team, and our bright and lively office is located in one of the buzziest areas of London, with excellent transport links and nice places to spend your lunchtimes or meet friends after work.

We are committed to making adjustments to our application process – please get in touch and tell us what we can do: we want you to have the best chance at showing us what you are capable of. You can also contact us for further information about the role or the application process.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
