Role Details

At the heart of this Director of Growth & Advocacy role is the opportunity to shape the external environment for employee ownership, champion the voice of our members, and lead high-impact strategies that grow both our reach and the sector itself.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead external affairs, collaborating with stakeholders to shape policy, advocacy and best practice that removes barriers and expands EO.
• Establish relationships and secure commercial partnerships and sponsorships, generating revenue to support advocacy, events, and sector growth initiatives.

The award-winning NSPCC Communications directorate is known for its talent, expertise and creativity in inspiring and challenging people to act on child abuse. We work collaboratively, both organisationally and across integrated communications disciplines, to deliver shared outcomes and measurable results through all available communications channels. 

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Marketing and Planning team, which has a key role in driving awareness and understanding of our support for children, parents and professionals. We work closely with teams across the NSPCC to raise awareness of our vital services, behaviour change campaigns and income generation which helps us continue to fight for every childhood.

The Strategic Marketing Manager will focus on marketing to adults, in particular parents. They will lead a team of 3 to deliver our flagship behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, working with colleagues across the organisation and external partners to expand the reach of our campaigns. They will lead on raising awareness of the NSPCC Helpline, that anyone can contact if they are worried about child and support wider priority campaigns that may include Brand and Online Safety. In addition, they will work closely with Income Generation, Services and Strategy and Knowledge on key projects and campaigns to ensure we are working together to maximise income and impact. 

The post-holder will have significant experience in leading insights-driven marketing strategies and campaigns that make an impact, from development through to delivery, overseeing a small team. They’ll be a great communicator, able to build effective working relationships and influence a range of stakeholders. They will be calm and measured to crisis coupled with an ability to make quick decisions. This individual will be highly collaborative in nature with a collaborative spirit in the immediate team and wider communications team. Alongside a desire to continuously learn and develop with a strong ambition to ‘make a difference’.

Job purpose

• The Marketing Manager will work closely with teams across the NSPCC to devise and deliver communications campaigns and projects across a range of disciplines. Specifically: 
• To lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity to promote behaviour change campaigns, Talk PANTS and Look Say Sing Play, NSPCC Helpline and other priority campaigns.

We are looking for a Legacy Officer to ensure that legacy income is processed in accordance with internal policies. 

You will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of legacy cases where the charity is named as a beneficiary; work with external solicitors and lay executors to ensure that gifts are received in a timely fashion and that all internal and external procedures and legislation is adhered to; promote pragmatic solutions and refer appropriate matters to the Senior Legacy Manager to ensure all reputational risks are proactively managed.  

Additionally, you will be required to work on projects to improve the Legacy Team’s ways of working and to help support with the development and delivery of the team and organisational strategies. 

Expected travel for this role is approximately meeting internal and external stakeholders as required, approximately twice per quarter; this may increase during busy periods. In addition, attendance to two all-staff away days per year and team away days in London on a quarterly basis.

The head of business development will play a pivotal role in driving the NCTJ’s growth and sustainability by identifying and securing revenue opportunities for new and existing projects and forming strategic business partnerships.

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing income to support our mission and charitable objectives while supporting the commercial development of our Journalism Skills Academy and our awarding organisation. This senior leadership role requires a proactive and strategic individual with an appreciation of the business and media landscape and the ability to cultivate and manage high-value relationships.

The head of business development will have two direct management reports: our fundraising manager and our Journalism Skills Academy manager.

The responsibilities of this role cover business growth, sales and revenue generation, commercial partnerships, industry engagement, strategic leadership and operational management.

Role Overview 

• Administrate SCOPE programme and manage SCOPE E-Learning Learning Management System 

• Develop educational resources in liaison with / to support Clinical Care Committee

• Under guidance from Head of Education, support the Virtalent consultant

• Support Head of Education implement capacity building strategy

Oversee SCOPE, World Obesity’s education programme including: 

• Update, and develop new online modules with input of CCC members / working groups and module developers 

• Develop marketing and communications material (including website, newsletter, and advertising resources) for the education programme 

• Track financial performance of SCOPE E-Learning platform 

• Ensure administration of SCOPE: Accreditation scheme (external courses and online modules); Fellowship scheme, and Certification scheme

• Edit module content using software where needed 

• Manage / respond to documents submitted for Accreditation or Fellowship 

• Administrate the Learning Management System (LMS) 

• Respond to user queries and troubleshoot issues. Where needed, consult with support services offered by LMS provider and software providers to resolve problems 

• Project manage upgrade to new LMS platform and conversion of modules to new format, working with LMS providers and module developers as needed 

• Liaise with translation services to develop translated modules 

• Support the event in conjunction with the Clinical Care Committees and regional members

• Generate website, flyer, and e-shot content 

• Coordinate communication for the School

• Work with Communications Manager to implement SCOPE Communications Strategy 

• Update website including content and development 

• Develop engaging, market appropriate electronic content 

• Write, edit and proof-read website copy

The Western Forest will deliver landscape scale change and real green investment, connecting people and nature across three regions – Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England (including North Somerset).

The Western Forest Director will drive, direct and manage the delivery and strategic direction of this new national forest. The Director will inspire and work alongside partners and the core Western Forest team to achieve the goals and targets set for the forest, ensuring it develops sustainable income streams and models of delivery by 2030.

The Western Forest Director will head up the core team in supporting and directing resource and expertise throughout the region. Some key duties include:
