The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior lay officer in the Cathedral and has the responsibility for managing the business functions of the Cathedral and monitoring operational performance.
As COO. you will be pivotal to the delivery of the Cathedral’s vision and strategy and the development of business and operational plans to ensure delivery of the Cathedral’s strategic outcomes. You will work with the Dean and the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensuring good governance, the effective and professional administration of the Cathedral in compliance with all policies and procedures and relevant statutory legislation.
The Cathedral Chapter (our Trustee Board) is looking for a collaborative colleague who will enhance the Cathedral’s caring culture, working closely with the staff team, volunteers and the wider cathedral community. Forward Action believes that a digital mobilisation model - where organisations use digital channels to drive hundreds of thousands of supporters to take advocacy, fundraising and volunteering actions - can revolutionise campaigning and fundraising in the NGO sector. We help progressive organisations build digital mobilisation programmes and, as a Senior Digital Strategist, you will work with organisations to help them use a digital mobilisation model to drive real-world change.
You will be at the heart of our digital campaigns and fundraising work, managing projects and planning impactful strategies to help our progressive partners hit their goals. You’ll even have the opportunity to work on proposals and pitches for new projects, steering how we adapt to client briefs and our bigger picture organisational strategy. This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract, expected to last up to 12 months, with the freedom to work both in our London office and remotely anywhere in the UK. You also have the opportunity to work abroad for up to 3 months in the year, as long as you can be online for the required core hours outlined below. Forward Action works a four day week, with all team members not working on Friday.

Strategy + planning
- Develop strategies for the projects on which you lead, working with the Digital Strategy Manager as needed to ensure we are always delivering strategic excellence

Salary and benefits package
Starting salary: £37,620 (outside of London, with a £3k annual travel bursary)/£42,135 (inside London)
Holiday: 25 days/year (pro rata to 20 days per year due to the 4 day week), plus bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year.

Job Purpose
As BSR’s Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing BSR’s membership offer. You’ll work on plans to recruit members across a range of roles in the rheumatology specialty and engagement tactics to ensure members are retained year on year.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, Communications and Membership, you’ll drive forward a compelling value proposition for membership by refining our benefits package and developing tailored audience content. With responsibility for our digital-first membership engagement plans, you’ll work on strategies that drive our engagement, provide real-time feedback and give us insight into how our members behave.
You’ll lead and coach a Membership Executive to develop their skills and together, provide excellent customer service and membership experience.
Main responsibilities
Membership recruitment and retention

The Head of Mass Participation Fundraising is responsible for overseeing our mass fundraising team. Leading the Events, Community and Individual Giving teams to maximise income and to introduce and lead on a new and exciting mass participation programme. Leadership
- To lead and inspire the Mass Participation team fostering a collaborative and high performing culture that delivers against income and objectives

EduSpots is a dynamic, community-driven UK and Ghana-registered charity that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators (known as ‘Catalysts’) to drive grassroots educational change. About the Role
EduSpots is seeking a Global Philanthropy Manager—an engaging, dynamic, and proven fundraising specialist who will play a key part in our next phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we need an individual with a track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the 5- to 6-figure level (GBP), and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.
In the past two years, we have doubled our income and expanded our programmes significantly. We are now poised for further growth and need someone who understands the value of community-driven change. The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) is a not-for-profit philanthropic organisation working to accelerate legal action on climate change.

Legal action can unlock the systemic changes in finance, policy and social systems needed to protect all of us from climate change. The power of the law is both direct (changing policy and practice) and indirect (signalling the wider shifts taking place across these systems).
FILE is a ‘regrantor’ - this means we do not bring legal action in our own name. We receive grants from our philanthropic donors (a small group of like-minded climate foundations) and make onwards grants to partners who align with FILE’s charitable aims and purposes. The Role
This exciting new role will have primary leadership of FILE’s regional strategy within Europe. It is a rare opportunity for an experienced, knowledgeable strategist and leaders to apply their understanding of how civil society can drive impact on climate, nature, and justice through legal and associated narrative and movement strategies in Europe.
This will include representing FILE at a senior level with funders, partners and our peer re-grantors, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with FILE’s European grantees.
It is a key strategic role within FILE, sitting alongside our other Regional Directors, reporting to FILE’s Director of Program Strategy, and with key relationships with other senior members of the Strategy team and other FILE departments.
FILE’s work in Europe is focused on driving governments’ ambition on, as well as holding corporations accountable for their major contributions to, the interconnected crises of climate, nature, and environmental justice. Given Europe’s position as a major economy, with global supply chains, there are strong connections between our work in Europe and our partners and communities in the Global South.
Key Responsibilities
Each of these is conducted in close collaboration with relevant colleagues across FILE’s strategy teams, as well as FILE’s Research, Impact, and Learning, Grant Management, and Philanthropic Partnerships teams:
- Leading development and implementation of FILE’s Europe strategy, supporting civil society to build for legal, narrative, and movement-building strategies to address the climate and nature crises and in pursuit of environmental justice
- This includes integrating climate, nature, and justice priorities appropriately into FILE’s Europe strategy - including a focus on finance, corporate accountability and supply chains, and driving governmental ambition
- Identifying new grantees, shaping grant-making priorities, and stewarding grantees through the grant-making process, as well as supporting existing grantees including with respect to issues of safety, security, and resilience
- Supporting the expansion of the community of practitioners to reinforce legal capacity, generating innovation and learning, proactively influencing global legal action and sharing knowledge of impact and learning
- Convening meetings of strategic partners to discuss key European priorities

About the role
The Marketing Lead (Membership and Events) is responsible for leading on the marketing activities for the Association’s income generating products and services, including member recruitment, member retention and educational events.
Working with teams across the whole organisation, the post-holder will play a vital role in devising and delivering impactful and joined-up campaigns, while ensuring that our members are at the heart of everything that we do.
Key responsibilities include:
- Devising and delivering marketing plans for membership recruitment in line with the Association’s new member value proposition and growth targets
- Delivering the communications plans for subscription renewals
- Reviewing and improving the onboarding journey for new members
- Supporting the development of the Association’s website
- Devising and delivering a marketing strategy for educational events and conferences

About you
We’re looking for an organised and proactive marketing professional with experience of developing and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with demonstrable results, preferably in the membership sector. If you also have experience of managing internal and external stakeholders, are able to juggle multiple priorities to tight deadlines and have experience of a range of digital platforms, then we would like to hear from you.

At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for an Interim Deputy Director of External Affairs to join our team on a 9 month FTC.
While this role covers all our External Affairs functions, you'll be particularly expected to have knowledge and expertise in providing leadership in policy-influencing and campaigns. You'll provide leadership of AaA's External Affairs strategy to ensure the needs of autistic children and their families are high on the political and media agenda.
You'll have an externally-facing role in policy influencing, representing AaA in coalitions with relevant government departments among parliamentarians, as well as increasing AaA's profile through an effective communications strategy.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding of the policy landscape, including political and legislative processes, and local government structures and processes
- Extensive experience of developing and delivering strategic, integrated communications programmes
- Demonstrable leadership of successful policy-influencing activity, including stakeholder engagement and above/below the line influencing strategies
- Proven experience in strategy development
