Diabetes UK is looking for a dynamic Community Fundraiser to join our team and drive fundraising initiatives across the Northeast and Yorkshire region. In this exciting role, you’ll manage relationships with supporters, seeking out and responding to fundraising opportunities to maximise income for our cause.

You will collaborate with local organisations, schools, and community groups to build lasting relationships and create new fundraising opportunities. Your work will involve communicating with supporters through various channels, including phone, email, and social media. You’ll also be an active part of regional and national teams, ensuring alignment with our community fundraising strategy.

We’re looking for someone with at least one year of experience in community fundraising or the non-profit sector. You’ll be confident in managing your own workload, with the ability to prioritise and travel regularly to meet supporters. Your communication skills will be key in building strong relationships with diverse audiences, including individuals, corporates, and volunteers.

We are looking for someone to join the Senior Leadership Team who will bring experience from their past successes and provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions in support of our 5-year vision and charitable mission and objectives.

You will have a strong, successful track record of fundraising and/or other forms of income generating in the charity sector, including management, with proven experience in meeting financial and non-financial targets. You should be able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, corporate, major donors and other individuals. In addition, you should have a strong knowledge of marketing and communications principles and practice, digital marketing, and social media, and be confident in engaging audience sensitively with real-life stories to demonstrate impact and create a compelling case for support.

Managing Director, Home-Start Wandsworth (HSW)

The Role:

The Managing Director sets the vision and strategy for HSW. They lead on income generation and profile raising; working with local stakeholders, building partnerships, and growing funding relationships to achieve that.  Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the MD will set annual objectives alongside long term goals - whilst providing vision and leadership to the team. The role will ensure operational excellence, providing direction & coaching when needed, to deliver innovation, sustainability & compliance. 

The Person:

• A track record in income generation, partnership working and team management are essential. 

• The successful candidate will combine collaboration, creativity and resilience, with a proven ability to deliver.

Reports to:

Key Responsibilities:

•  Set the overall strategy, vision and annual objectives for the organisation, alongside the Board of Trustees.
• Be accountable for the overall performance of the organisation and leadership of the team, including guidance and coaching for direct reports.
• Develop and deliver a robust and sustainable funding strategy 
• Develop and deliver the long-term grant funding strategy, leading the bidding process for the organisation. Actively research and build relationships with grant funders to maximise opportunities and success. Write & submit grant applications, working with relevant members of the Team and Trustees. Give strategic direction to the Operations Manager, as required, on progress reporting  to grant funders.
• Develop and drive the community fundraising strategy for the charity working with relevant members of the team and Trustee committee members. Build local partnerships with businesses, schools and churches to increase regular giving. 
• Actively champion and contribute to fundraising events - and generate ideas for new activity. 
• Manage key strategic partnerships, relationships and donors on an ongoing basis to ensure income, volunteer and referral pipelines are maintained to optimise the organisation’s impact. 
• Working with the Operations lead, ensure the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. 
• Provide regular performance and progress reports to the board as requested  and ensure the charity is compliant with all HSUK policies and procedures. 
• Set and manage the annual operational budget, and ensure the effective management of all HSW resources, IT provision and operational contracts. 

Additional responsibilities: 

• Develop and advocate for the profile of the organisation within the borough and represent it to relevant bodies, including HSUK and HSL, taking an active role in working groups.  Act as an ambassador and embodiment of the organisation’s values. 
• Deliver the annual impact report alongside the Communications Manager. 
• Ensure the completion of all Operational HSUK Quality Assurance assessments.
• Be accountable for safeguarding in the operational team, working closely with the Safeguarding lead, who is responsible for delivery.
• Act as the Data Protection officer for the organisation. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Management experience of small/medium teams in the voluntary sector. 
• Proven track record of success in charity fundraising and grant application processes. 
• Experience of strategy conceptualisation and delivery- including leading others or working collaboratively to develop strategic & operational plans. 
• Successful experience of stakeholder, network or partnership working.
• Understanding of current legislation and regulatory frameworks for babies, children and families.
• Operational coordination and project management experience.
• Financial understanding & experience of managing budgets >£100,000 (TBC)
• Highly IT literate with a confident understanding of Google applications, and Charity Log, or other database management systems.

You will be from come from a background involving the creation and management of  fundraising products, projects and/ or appeals, most likely within the charitable sector. You will have an outcome-focussed approach, with experience of managing multi-disciplinary fundraising teams. We would expect an understanding of preparing organisation- and project-level cases for support, and that you are comfortable with achieving financial and non-financial targets – and supporting team members to do the same. You will be a great communicator with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development and activities of the Wildlife Trust.

Overall Purpose

To work and lead on setting clear standards for high quality gathering, recording, monitoring and use of data collected via our grant’s programmes and initiative, accessing this data to inform donor grant reports, infographic data sharing, donor reports and network reporting in an accurate and transparent way. Reporting to the Head of Impact you will be technically proficient in monitoring data use of the CRM systems. You will also work directly with the Senior Leadership team on initiatives requiring evidence of impact and return on investment. The Data Officer will work closely with colleagues across the Foundation contributing to the delivery of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

To lead on the accurate recording, management, and accessibility of data gathered through the Foundations programmes and initiatives via our Salesforce CRM system and future platforms, including potential Social Value and Social Return on Investment models.

Support the grants team in recording and maintaining accurate data, ensuring records are complete, up-to-date, and compliant. Conduct routine system checks and regular data cleansing as required.

Support monitoring received from grantees, helping extract key data and learning, checked by Head of Impact.

Provide support to Head of Impact with Salesforce CRM training to internal teams to enhance data usage and impact measurement.

Performance Management

Collect, analyse, and present relevant data on a quarterly basis to support donor reporting.

Produce data driven reports aligned with the Donor Care Plan, ensuring accuracy in evaluation, impact measurement, and End of Grant reporting (quality checked by Head of Impact).

Develop and submit annual data reports for platforms such as 360 Giving, FREA (Funders for Race Equalities Alliance), IVAR and other partnership platforms aligned to BLCF work including UK Community Foundation Quality Assurance.

Provide insights and key learnings that demonstrate the effectiveness of grantmaking, inform strategic decisions, and highlight return on investment.
 

Relationship Management

Regularly connect and engage with wider Community Foundation network to ensure BLCF’s data systems remain fit for purpose and aligned with sector best practices.

Participate in cross-foundation learning initiatives to stay updated on trends in data-driven grantmaking and impact measurement.

Work with the Head of Business Development to provide insights from donor trends and grant impact data, supporting fundraising and partnership strategies.

Representing the Organisation

Maintain a strong understanding of community and charity sector issues to inform BLCF’s data strategy and grantmaking approach. Ensure relevant insights are shared across the team.

Develop and maintain an appropriate network of contacts within the grantmaking sector across BLCF’s geographic reach.

Serve as a BLCF ambassador, promoting the Foundations values and impact through data storytelling and sector engagement.

Be an ambassador for the work of the Foundation by demonstrating its values in the delivery of its work.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing women’s voices from every marginalised community in our society.

The Health Collective Community Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.

This role will focus on managing and growing the existing community of members, organising and facilitating regular meetings, content creation for the Health Collective, coordinating the development of a unique identity for the group, and establishing an online community forum.

The role will also involve coordinating training sessions, events, and communication between the Collective and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a growing community that empowers women and promotes health equality.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for women to connect, learn, and share their experiences around health and well-being, as well as influencing national and local policy to reduce health inequalities (for women from marginalised communities).

The ideal candidate will be skilled in community engagement, digital content creation, and communication, with a strong passion for women’s health and empowerment.

Main Duties

Community Engagement & Growth

• Actively manage and grow the online and offline community, recruiting new members from all marginalised communities and fostering a sense of trust and connection.

• Set up and run a virtual community for members and monitor and moderate community interactions to ensure a positive and respectful environment.

Content Creation & Communication

• Create and share high-quality, educational, and influencing content across social media platforms and the website.

• Work with a designer and members to create the Health Collective's logo and identity.

Event Coordination

• Plan, organize, and manage virtual and in-person health collective meetings, liaising with members to determine the agenda and experts to find a diverse range of speakers.
• Collaborate with external partners to enhance event quality and reach.

Monitoring, evaluation & reporting

• Record and monitor the Collective’s activities (output) and their effectiveness (impact) through data collection, surveys, interviews and case studies.
• Report on project progress and update the Wellbeing of Women team regularly.
• Report on project progress to National Lottery at least twice a year with information about the Collective’s outputs and impact along with an expenditure budget for the period
• Work with an external consultant to assess the Collective’s impact annually.

Advocacy

• Work with the Head of Comms and Campaigns to build relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and organisations aligned with the collective’s mission.
• Monitor news and political developments relevant to the Health Collective’s work.

The Policy Officer for Young Women and Girls will have strong communication, advocacy skills in the area of young migrant women and girls, political judgement, and networking abilities. You must be dedicated to addressing inequality and violence against women and girls.

The main duties of this post include:

1. To develop, plan and implement a policy, advocacy and campaign strategy on the needs of young migrant women and girls, based on the findings from the Young Women’s Advisory Board (YWAB) reports.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract, Full Time, 35 hours per week

• Accountable for planning and executing integrated campaigns that combine digital and offline marketing channels to deliver cohesive, measurable results aligned with overall marketing objectives.

Requirements

You have a track record in and passion for digital marketing, with experience in paid digital media planning, buying and budget management.

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Experience working on integrated digital marketing campaigns and strategies.

• Hands-on experience managing creative agencies to develop content and assets for paid digital campaigns.

• Experience in building and managing marketing campaigns on social platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn), Google Ad campaign types and programmatic advertising, taking decisions, testing and publishing without supervision.
• The ability to analyse user experience data with CRO testing, conduct A/B tests, optimise conversion funnels, improve user experience working with our Digital Product team to implement changes
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Lead on the management and development of our ecommerce sites (Shop for life and Store). Working with agencies and wider teams to ensure consistent updates and optimisations, creating and executing data -driven campaigns to maximise conversions and deliver growth.
• Knowledge of a range of measuring tools (including GA4) and the ability to understand and translate data and analytics into insight that can be understood and applied by wider teams.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Familiarity with owned, earned, and shared media.

• Experience creating and pitching business plans.

• Drupal website management and use of CMS.

Job Description

The Head of Finance Business Partnering will:

• Lead financial planning and the production of the Force's Medium-Term Resource Strategy and Capital Programme Plan, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Planning Cycle.
• Work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Head of Finance, and Head of Management Accounting to ensure departmental strategies align with the Force's financial objectives.
• Provide insightful financial analysis, advice, and assurance to support senior decision-making on resource allocation and funding priorities.
• Ensure the Finance Business Partner (FBP) model is embedded in decision-making, driving the Centre of Excellence (COE) framework across projects, policies, capital, and Oracle systems.
• Collaborate with the CFO during the financial forecasting and strategic planning cycle to incorporate decisions into financial strategies.
• Contribute to the financial sections of the Force Management Statement, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and other Force areas.
• Provide strategic financial support for HMIC inspections and ensure issues are addressed.
• Implement a performance framework for the finance team, reviewing KPIs, addressing discrepancies, and promoting continuous improvement.
• Lead strategic finance initiatives on major projects, ensuring alignment with the Force's broader objectives.
• Guide Finance Business Partners to meet Force requirements, build team capacity through training, performance management, and development, and ensure consistency in financial analysis.
• Improve financial literacy across the Force, supporting strategies for efficiency, cost consciousness, and resource optimisation.
• Lead the development and maintenance of financial management systems, with expertise in the Oracle EPM system.
• Provide financial modelling and support for decision-making, focusing on value for money and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate on strategic asset management, influencing vehicle, estate, and IT strategies to align with financial plans.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of financial information in reports to strategic meetings, including sign-off on financial implications.
• Work with Procurement to contribute financial expertise to significant procurement exercises and mitigate financial risk.
• Provide robust financial advice to external partners and collaborate with other forces and agencies to benchmark best practices and share insights.
• Support the Force's application for external funding, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Act as a key advisor in project boards and deputise for the Head of Finance when required.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Head of Finance Business Partnering will be/have:

• Qualified Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (C.C.A.B.) or CIMA accountant.
• Recent experience of working within a finance business partnering model or the ability to demonstrate an awareness of what is required to deliver the outcomes of the model.
• Understand personal and professional strengths and development needs and be able to evidence the steps taken to enhance your continuing professional development.
• Ability to interpret complex or detailed legislation, policy or strategy documents to identify financial implications and provide insightful financial advice.
• Strong commercial acumen with the desire to help drive business performance and show the wider business how finance can add value on a day-to-day basis.
• Experience of advising, challenging and negotiating with senior officers, managers and budget holders in a confident manner.
• Ability to use a range of communication and influencing techniques to successfully negotiate, collaborate or effect change in relation to matters of a specialist / technical nature.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building robust working relationships and establishing personal credibility with senior officers, managers and budget holders.
• Demonstrate IT literacy including advanced Excel, with extensive experience of large, complex ERP systems.
• Open to change, intellectually curious and able to challenge existing thinking to initiate and embrace innovation.
• Excellent analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working 2 days per week from their office in Oxford. 

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Charity’s philanthropy and partnerships donor base, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders).
This plays a pivotal role in shaping the charity’s fundraising strategy, identifying major funding opportunities and creating impactful engagement strategies to secure long-term financial support for the charity’s sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Develop and implement a comprehensive Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) fundraising strategy to drive fundraising activities and support long-term sustainability. This includes overseeing the cultivation and stewardship of major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners as well as legacy and in-memory supporters (larger funders). 
•  Report on income and expenditure targets, ensuring targets are met and assisting with budget setting. 
•  Cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with larger funders, ensuring strong and sustained engagement. 
•  Develop tailored proposals and partnership packages aligned with potential partners’ priorities and interests.
•  Manage, identify and build relationships with key corporate funders, negotiate and manage agreements, ensuring clear communication of expected deliverables. 
•  Oversee and manage all trust and foundation opportunities, identifying potential funders whilst monitoring and reporting on deliverables and outcomes ensuring timely delivery of all requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations. 
•  Develop compelling, tailored proposals and partnership packages to align with the interests and priorities of potential partners, demonstrating impact. 
•  Plan and execute donor stewardship events and activities to enhance engagement and retention. Ensure that donor recognition and communications are carried out with precision, ensuring donors feel valued and informed. 
•  Manage, track and utilise CRM systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics) to maintain up-to-date donor data, track progress and provide concise and timely reports on fundraising activities and income and expenditure reports. Analyse donor trends and engagement metrics to optimise fundraising strategies.

Person Specification: 

•  Demonstrable experience in a senior fundraising role, with a proven track record in securing major funds from larger funders. 
•  Exceptional major donor management skills, with experience in donor stewardship, partnership development and engagement strategies that build long-term relationships. 
•  Extensive knowledge and understanding of targeting, segmentation and response analysis. 
•  Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling applications, proposals and donor communications. Capable of tailoring messaging for different audiences and ensuring clarity, consistency and emotional impact. 
•  Experience of managing a fundraising team and assisting with recruitment and team development. 
•  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. 
•  A strategic outlook with the ability to identify fundraising opportunities and take the initiative to drive growth.

This exciting new role within the Fundraising team will lead on generating funds by developing and promoting new income streams.

There is no typical week as a Business Development Manager and the role requires a proactive approach. The post holder will identify and deliver profitable business development activity for the following areas: (i) sales related to MAAC training provider - securing group/individual bookings for our training and education courses; (ii) the sale of room hire at our Airbase and Charity Headquarters and (iii) support with other ad hoc income generation projects. .

Working in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, Group Events Lead, and Head of Education and Training, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute a plan to promote and grow these revenue streams, building strong relationships with businesses, community groups, and educational institutions.
