The Advocacy and Communications Director will lead Makespace’s advocacy and external communications, to influence systemic change across the community/social enterprise sector and deliver transformational, multi-generational change in line with our strategy. The role will deepen engagement with local and national partners and stakeholders, building on the success of Makespace’s neighbourhood level projects as the organisation moves into the next phase of development. A key part of the role is translating the learning and impact from our hub spaces into compelling advocacy and communications campaigns.
This role is a new position designed to strengthen our senior leadership team, working closely with the Executive Director and Operations Director to guide the strategic direction of the organisation.

The role
The Senior individual giving officer will report to the Senior individual giving manager.
Principal accountabilities / responsibilities
Fundraising
· Support fundraising activity across a wide range of programmes, including individual giving, legacy, in-memory and events fundraising
· Plan, execute, monitor and report on individual giving and legacy appeals, leading project groups with the support of the Senior Individual Giving Manager
· Optimise retention and increase supporter lifetime value through development of channel specific and donor-led effective welcome journeys, and seamless supporter journeys.
· Use strong creative and copywriting skills to produce stand-out communications that elicit an emotional response and successfully solicit income
· In collaboration with the database team, analyse response data and feedback and use this to propose campaign optimisations and future campaign recommendations
· Manage and monitor own campaign budgets and results, reforecasting and providing detailed commentary and analysis
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure activity is delivered to agreed plans, budgets and deadlines
· Ensure individual giving integrates with the wider organisational calendar and that supporter communications support and align with key activities and goals
· Use our active channels to grow our lists and opt-in rates, increasing touchpoints with our supporters
· Oversee a testing programme for appeals and digital activity, constantly iterating and optimising to refine creative and segmentation over time, sharing insight with the wider organisation to improve knowledge
· Conduct competitor analysis to learn and identify opportunities
· Manage working relationships with a range of external suppliers to fulfil our varied programme – including print, creative, face to face and postal agencies.

Fundraising department
Our dynamic fundraising department generated over £4 m in 22/23, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multimillion-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital. We pride ourselves on being a supporter focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
· Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database and supporter care teams sit within Public Fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
- Our Philanthropy and Campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, and corporate organisations which give, or have potential to give, £10,000 to the charity each year. What the job involves
The Policy and Health Influencing teams are responsible for using clinical data and evidence to shape what the organisation thinks and to develop solutions that drive change for men with and at risk of prostate cancer. This means working with clinicians, patients and stakeholders to interpret the latest changes in prostate cancer research, care, support and treatment which will help shape our strategic direction and activities.
As the Health Improvement Coordinator, you're key to supporting these teams. You'll have a varied and far-reaching portfolio of work and sometimes arranging important stakeholder events and meetings ensuring we're hearing from people who've been through prostate cancer themselves. You'll also help share our work on social media and capturing the outcomes of our external engagement.
In this role you’ll assist us in keeping track of and evaluating our progress in line with our organisational strategy, as well as keeping an eye on trends in the wider cancer and health landscape and reporting on them. Plus, you'll handle budget matters and make sure we have effective budget monitoring mechanisms in place.
What we want from you
We’re looking for a Coordinator who is highly organised, an effective communicator and know how to adapt and effectively prioritise your time. You’ll have excellent coordination skills and can organise others too (especially teams which are based across the UK) and have experience of creating and updating forward planners, project schedules and streamlining team processes. You’ll be able to comfortably engage with senior managers and a breadth of external senior level stakeholders. Regularly taking the initiative to drive improvements so that the teams you support can operate efficiently.
With skills in collecting and utilising data to monitor, trend, and report on activity, you're proactive in acting on the results. You’ll have some experience or interest in working in the health or volunteer sector. You’re also quick to learn and capable at picking up new systems including those for budget management and products’ fulfilment.

About the role
We are seeking an Impact and Evaluation Senior Officer, working with the Impact and Evaluation Manager, Director of Partnerships and Federation Development and with federation members.The role will be central to the delivery of strategic commitment to work together to record, study, continuously improve and broadcast our collective impact.
It’s an exciting time for the Emmaus Federation as we roll out a new In-Form (salesforce) CRM system and interlinked Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework.
The role will play a crucial part in implementing, gathering feedback and developing new systems and tools to be utilised by Emmaus communities.
The role will be varied in nature, one day might involve conducting interviews with people experiencing homelessness, then next providing support to a member of staff to improve a communities MEL practice, the following day might involve analysing a data set and writing a briefing paper.

The Impact and Evaluation Senior Officer will play a key role in supporting the Emmaus federation to understand and demonstrates the impact of our work.
The ideal candidate will have strong theoretical and practical evaluation skills coupled with the people skills to make this work accessible to a range of stakeholders.
They will need to be comfortable working as part of a remote team and able to travel to Emmaus communities across the UK to work with staff and companions.

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18.
