About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Events Manager to support the Head of Events and Specialist Projects with the development and operational delivery of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) events portfolio including special events, challenge events and engaging supporters across all SSCH audiences.  The role is responsible for the line management of the Events Fundraisers and will be required to act as a key onsite team member as appropriate. 

Additionally, this role will support the Head of Events and Specialist Projects with operational support to successfully enable the Executive Vice-President’s (EVP) fundraising programme.   

About you

You will have event management experience, ideally within a fundraising setting and have demonstrable administration skills. You will have excellent leadership, line management and people management skills with the ability to motivate, empower and encourage others with an approach that gives clear direction.

You will also be flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for events.

North Bristol Advice Centre (NBAC) is recruiting a Welfare Benefits Advice Caseworker to provide one-to-one advice support in communities.

This is a varied and exciting role leading our outreach work, working with partner organisations based in the heart of communities.  As a Welfare Benefits Advice Caseworker, you will provide specialist welfare benefits advice, based at our office in Lockleaze and outreach locations across North Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You’ll provide one-to-one support to address a range of issues from benefit checks and supporting with claims, to casework and providing representation at appeal tribunals, helping people to maximise their income and secure their legal entitlements.

The ideal candidate would have experience of providing welfare benefits advice and the ability to carry out casework. However, we are willing to offer a trainee position to the right candidate who has transferrable skills. Ideal previous experience for a trainee candidate would include experience of supporting vulnerable people, working as a support worker, providing information and guidance or someone already volunteering in an advice setting.

The post holder will focus on delivery of the child, adolescent to parental violence and abuse programme which is incorporates an Non Violent Resistance approach.

Specialist Child to Parent Violence delivery:

· Advocate for the rights of children to be respected, heard and protected.

· Deliver sessions for parents using Non Violent Resistance (NVR) techniques and child and family members, applying a systematic family approach to managing violence and abuse in the home.

· Adhere to the relevant programme manuals for parents as well as for the children and young people.

· Use motivational interviewing techniques and strength based approaches to engage with families.

· Support parents and young people to learn skills and knowledge to deal with behaviour in a non-violenct way, using NVR and trauma informed CBT methods.

· Work closely with other statutory and voluntary professionals to ensure appropriate steps are taken to protect where there is an imminent risk to another person. Apply RISE’s escalation procedures.

· Be responsible and accountable for working with Team leader and/or Service Manager and Advanced practitioner to ensure risk is reviewed on a weekly basis.

· Attend monthly risk review and practice development meetings with Team leader or Advanced practitioner to ensure effective risk management procedures are applied at all times.

· Attend training sessions to enhance their delivery and understanding of NVR.

· Be personally accountable for the completion of assessments, pre and post questionnaires, and End of Intervention reports, and ensure they are to a high standard.

· Provide support and consultancy to other professionals to ensure appropriateness of referrals  and improve understanding on NVR and CBT techniques and working with families (parents and children and young people.

· Ensure effective planning for the delivery of each intervention in advance of the session.

· Partake and pass all relevant NVR and other child, young people  and parent centred training to undertake this specialist work.

· Deliver community training as required.

Recording and administrative tasks:

· Ensure timely and accurate recording of all relevant data (attendance, feedback, mid-way and end of intervention reports) using systems provided and in line with performance standards.

· Maintain an accurate audit trail of all relevant communication with partner organistions involved.

· Ensure completion of pre and post questionnaires in line with RISE’s Social Impact strategy.

· Contribute to the evaluation and evidencing of social impact, including questionnaires and service user case studies.

General tasks:

· Develop excellent relationships with customers and respond positively to their needs.

· Be a strong advocate for RISE interventions, representing RISE and its interventions at key stakeholder events.

· Attend Clinical Consultancy  and Practice meetings to support safe practice and develop resilience during the delivery of demanding work as directed by the Senior Practitioner.

The Children’s Literacy Charity is a specialist literacy intervention charity providing expert tuition to children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to close their literacy gap and achieve their full potential.

The charity has grown significantly over recent years, delivering its high impact Literacy and Reading Lab programmes to children who need the most help to catch up with their better off peers.  This includes children experiencing economic disadvantage or who may have special educational needs or have English as an additional language.

To support this growth, we have created a new role of Communications Lead to develop and implement a highly effective and targeted communications plan.  Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead on all areas of our existing communications work. 

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable communications professional able to think strategically, write brilliantly, produce high quality work quickly with good attention to detail.As part of a small head office team you will also have a flexible approach to your role as needs change.

Experience of the charity and/or education sector would be a considerable advantage, but as important will be a ‘can do’, problem solving attitude and a belief in the importance of life-changing literacy.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

We have worked in partnership with the Young Roots charity for the last five years providing a service to young, unaccompanied asylum seekers aged between 16 and 25 and we are looking for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to manage and support this work.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist within the Young Roots psychology service, you will report to a Senior Clinical Psychologist at HBF/Head of Therapies and manage the clinical services of the Young Roots Partnership.

This role will include management of the overall partnership project, delivery of highly specialised psychological assessments for both medico-legal and clinical purposes, provision of appropriate evidence-based therapies, delivery of clinical supervision to qualified clinicians, assistant and trainee clinical psychologists on final year specialist placements, and non-clinical members of staff. The role will also include input into policy, research and fundraising and delivery of consultancy and training.

We are looking for someone who is committed to working therapeutically with young people who experienced human rights abuses and post-migration stressors and present with trauma spectrum disorders, depression, and anxiety as a result. In addition to proven experience in working therapeutically with this client group, the candidate will have a passion for human rights work beyond the individual client work, and a desire to contribute to effecting change at a policy level.  This role requires the ability to react and respond creatively and appropriately to the needs of the charity.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of senior clinicians at the Helen Bamber Foundation, work independently to ensure the delivery of a range of evidence based psychological therapies to clients.

· Provide specialist psychological assessments and deliver trauma-focused psychological therapies to clients of the Helen Bamber Foundation.

· Train in the preparation of medico-legal reports and where relevant, contribute to the preparation of these reports for clients.

· Develop and carry out audits and research projects.

· Provide internal and external training in collaboration with your line manager.

· Supervise junior staff. This may include newly qualified psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, and research assistants.

· Provide supervisory support for non-clinical staff where needed.

· Liaise with other non-statutory and statutory organisations on matters of clinical care, safeguarding and policy.

· Monitor the effectiveness of the interventions provided and provide feedback to funding bodies in the form of data and reports.

· Promote the work of the Helen Bamber Foundation at conferences and other events.

About the Role

We are now recruiting for a Housing Advice and Case Worker to provide expert and specialist housing advice and support to our policy and case work teams, especially as it relates to Black and minoritised migrant women with housing needs affected by the criminal justice and/or immigration systems.

The post holder will divide their time equally between our Policy and Public Affairs team and frontline services work. As housing lead, they will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, producing and delivering training and other resources, and will work alongside the Policy and Public Affairs team to ensure the smooth running of our Safe Housing for Migrant Women project. The successful candidate will act as a source of specialist advice to our frontline staff regarding the housing rights and needs of our service users, and will provide urgent community casework support to women with housing needs referred internally from other Hibiscus Projects. The post holder will also support a caseload of a least five service users, providing holistic support and advocacy to empower women to rebuild their lives.

This will include supporting women to participate in education, training, providing outreach support, ensuring the women they work with have a clear understanding of their rights and obligations and how their immigration status may affect their rights to housing and work.

The Housing Advice and Case Worker will play a key role in facilitating communication between the Policy and Public Affairs and frontline teams, maintaining accurate records to support with monitoring, reporting and evaluation of Hibiscus’ Projects. In particular, they will support the collection of data, case studies and qualitative feedback to inform the Safe Homes for Migrant Women project and evaluation.

They will demonstrate a commitment to Hibiscus's ethos aims and objectives, including having an intersectional and anti-racist approach to the work and a comprehensive understanding of one of more of Hibiscus’ key work areas.

About you

We are particularly keen to attract talent from Black and minoritised communities and those with lived experience of immigration, the criminal justice systems, and/or violence against women and girls. We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about the housing rights of Black and minoritised migrant women. You will need knowledge and significant understanding of the challenging reality of the housing and how Black and minoritised women can best gain access to relevant housing offerings.

The successful candidate will have experience working in the housing sector or providing housing advice/advocacy to groups subjected to marginalisation and an in-depth knowledge of relevant housing legislation, policy and practice, especially as it relates to Black and minoritised migrant women. The candidate will have experience of working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory organisations, and proven ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders, while working collaboratively and positively with service users and colleagues.

The candidate will have direct frontline experience working with women with complex needs such as insecure immigration status, criminal justice system involvement, or violence against women and girls, and be confident in facilitating workshops, developing training and collating case studies using trauma-informed, feminist practice.

They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to working. They will have a clear and demonstrable understanding of one of more of Hibiscus’ key work areas – criminal justice, immigration and migrants’ rights, racial justice, and/or violence against women and girls.

Job Description

To provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services.  The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.

Main Responsibilities

·To manage a caseload of complex clients seeking short and long-term advocacy support, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues.

·To manage referrals in to CARA’s Advocacy service, ensuring clients meet the referral criteria.

·To provide line-management for CARA’s social care placement worker and potential future advocacy volunteers.

·To assess all new referrals to CARA’s advocacy services, allocating cases to members of the advocacy team, as appropriate.

·To liaise with other agencies, receiving and making referrals and ensuring that they understand CARA’s role and services.

·To gather information about local and national agencies and manage storage and display of this material at CARA.  To work with CARA’s Integrated Support and Advocacy Manager to create a directory of services that can be used by all the CARA team.

·To support CARA’s group work, including attendance to provide advocacy support and supporting other activities.

·To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

·To maintain and collate evaluation data, testimonials or case studies for distribution.

·To adhere to CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

About Synergy East

CARA is part of Synergy East and we work closely with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex.

Key Tasks

• Lead and deliver projects as part of a high-quality programme of support and development for the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and Communities in Buckinghamshire. (See appendix)

Dementia Carer Support Service

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £24,901.50 pro rota

This a local service for family carers, offering a range of services including information and advice, support groups, carers assessments, training and an emergency back-up service.

• To act as first point of contact with the aim of identifying carers of people with dementia and registering new carers by entering personal details onto the electronic database in compliance with confidentiality, data protection and other relevant regulations
• To provide statutory carer assessments to registered carers of people with dementia, following the agreed model of a comprehensive conversational assessment with
• specialist dementia assessment in the home environment or another venue
• To work and develop relationships with carers groups across the City
• To provide ongoing support to carers of people with dementia, linking with other services and groups 
• To offer, provide and undertake home visits where requested
• To attend and offer service at outreach venues
• To support carers of people with dementia through quarterly support groups
• To support carers to access the Neighbourhood Networks Scheme and develop stronger links and referral pathways with GPs and other health stakeholders. 
• To update existing customer information and carry out regular reviews of carers and to update action plans agreed with the carer
• To work closely with partners and initiatives such as PCNs and social prescribing, bereavement and pre-bereavement support, dementia carer support groups, dementia carer navigator service, memory assessment clinics and dementia carer training providers
• To support carers of people with dementia to access assistive technologies

• Skills, knowledge and experience in advice provision to carers and a relevant qualification in dementia care
• Detailed knowledge of wellbeing issues, benefits and services affecting carers of people with dementia

• Good skills with information systems include advice and information database systems.

About the role

The Marketing Lead (Membership and Events) is responsible for leading on the marketing activities for the Association’s income generating products and services, including member recruitment, member retention and educational events.

Working with teams across the whole organisation, the post-holder will play a vital role in devising and delivering impactful and joined-up campaigns, while ensuring that our members are at the heart of everything that we do.

• The Connection Community is a place where people can gain respite from street homelessness, engage in group and coproduction activities, develop social inclusion and reduce isolation and have their needs met by a committed and dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
• You will be joining a dynamic and creative team, focused on building trust through relationships.
• You will support the team to identify, engage and provide harm minimisation to our clients whilst promoting a sense of belonging, and working with clients to support them on their journey towards a place to call home.
• Together we are piloting a new approach to working with people experiencing homelessness in Westminster facing multiple exclusion. We are creating a psychologically-informed environment, adopting a trauma-informed model with direct support from a team of specialist NHS psychologists.
• You will have experience in delivering a psychologically, gender and culturally informed service to people who are experiencing street homelessness.  You will be both strength-based and solution-focused, developing and enhancing the service with a commitment to embedding coproduction.

Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. The charity was founded in 1860 to work with vulnerable people living in the East End of London.  We are extremely proud of how the charity has continued to grow and develop over 150 years.

About the role:

· Provide psychotherapy sessions on outreach in Newham.

· Flexible approach to meeting vulnerable clients.

· Deliver specialised outreach psychotherapy to individuals in Newham, focusing particularly on those who are or have been rough sleepers.

· Work collaboratively with Street Outreach Response Teams and other specialist agencies.

· Offer both formal psychotherapy sessions and informal support, adapting to clients' needs in terms of scheduling and locations.

· Conduct street shifts alongside the commissioned Outreach Service, introducing and promoting our service to potential clients.

· Support individuals transitioning into emergency, temporary, or long-term accommodation.

In order to support the achievement of these aims, the outreach psychotherapist will be responsible for:

Manage a caseload of 12 clients per week, attend MDTs, attend team meetings, attend any mandatory multidisciplinary meetings. The candidate will be expected to attend CPD, which will be organised by the candidate themselves, while Providence Row offers a generous budget of £1500 per annum.

The candidate will also be expected to contribute towards the smooth running of the service and willing to help and participate with any current services needs.
