Age UK Mid Mersey has just been awarded National Lottery funding to develop and deliver evidence-based Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) group programmes for older people experiencing cognitive impairment or who are diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia. MCST is a weekly group programme for people living with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairment. Group members take part in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental functioning. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new friendships.
The programme will be overseen by an MCST Team Leader and delivered by a team of four MCST Facilitators, who will work in delivery pairs, and two carers support workers. One MCST Facilitator pair will deliver 2 group sessions a week in Halton and Warrington and the other pair in St Helens and Knowsley.
We are recruiting four part-time MCST Facilitators who will work in delivery pairs. One pair will deliver group programmes in Halton and Warrington and be based in our Runcorn Office. The other pair will deliver programmes in St Helens and Knowsley and be based at our head office in St Helens.
The facilitators will work closely with the MCST Team Leader to plan and deliver MCST programmes in their two Boroughs. Each programme will run for 12 weeks and will consist of four-hour activity sessions with a shared lunch. Facilitators will adapt the session delivery to meet the needs and specific interests of group participants ensuring the sessions are engaging and meaningful.
Facilitators will also work closely with the carers support workers and ensure that joined up support is provided to participants and their significant others.
Travel across Mid-Mersey is expected so the post holder must have access to their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence.
Full training in MCST will be provided alongside comprehensive induction and role specific training.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

- Strong understanding of statutory compliances and standards such as health and safety, equal opportunities and data protection.
- Strong relationship-building skills, and confidence liaising and engaging with a variety of stakeholders, in a fast-paced environment.

East London Apartments provides 24 hour accommodation based support for up to 31 individuals with complex histories, multiple traumas, complex personality disorder(s) and a varied, disrupted housing history with experience of homelessness as well as individuals who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health conditions who are under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
East London Apartments implements and promotes the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model. This is an approach which was developed to support people out of homelessness, in particular those who have experienced complex trauma or are diagnosed with a personality disorder. However, its application is far broader than only homelessness. It considers the psychological needs of staff: developing skills and knowledge, increasing motivation, job satisfaction and resilience.
When working with individuals with complex needs, who may display challenging, chaotic behaviours, regularly testing boundaries and have experienced multiple traumas as a result of abuse, neglect, years of street homelessness, or long stays in mental health hospitals, it is integral that the post holder is motivated to support individuals to progress. They should continually hold aspirations for individuals despite multiple setbacks, and display emotional resilience, able to process challenging incidents and remain motivated to deliver excellent support.
Night Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.
The shift pattern for this role consists of 4 nights on, 4 nights off.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering accessible and diverse programs and services to engage and support young people (11-17). What you'll do:
Bank Support Workers may be able to work shifts from all of Look Ahead's specialisms including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Young People. Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices. Within Learning Disability services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. We are excited to announce that we are looking for a motivated and compassionate veteran with experience in addiction recovery, mental health services or veteran welfare to help us expand and develop the SMART Veterans Programme in Scotland. You need to have experience of working with vulnerable people, or in supporting the welfare of individuals, ideally military personnel or veterans. Facilitation of meetings, training and group sessions is essential as is your knowledge of the needs veterans have when they leave service. You should have knowledge of best practice in facilitation and possess good presentation skills. Knowledge of what addiction recovery is and how recovery programmes work is important with knowledge of the SMART Recovery 4-point Programme being highly beneficial.
We accept applications from individuals who have lived experience of addiction either directly or through family and friends, and be able to demonstrate living a balanced life. You need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to motivate yourself and others and manage your time efficiently. Self-motivation is crucial as this is a home-based role with lots of virtual meetings. We will also consider a secondment from existing employment elsewhere.
Experience working with or being a volunteer is essential and experience of delivering training would equip you well for the role. The ability to support people with adverse lived experiences in a grounded manner and be able to provide support within professional boundaries is very important. Giving and receiving feedback, gathering data and other evidence to inform service development, and exercising reflective practice are all essential attributes.
The role is home-based, and you will be provided with all office equipment and a travel budget as needed. In order to manage your time and travel effectively you will need to be comfortable forming and developing relationships online, attending and hosting meetings via zoom or MS Teams (this is both business meetings with partner organisations and mutual aid recovery meetings). You will be required to conduct national travel and occasional overnight stays, visiting SMART meetings and facilitators in your area delivering a package of support to facilitators and our partners, helping the charity to grow by helping to generate new business. There are also team development residental trips away with the SMART team every year.
In addition, you will contribute to the global development of SMART Recovery via veteran orientated projects identified by SMART Recovery International. It is essential that you can travel and work flexibly to meet the needs of the role.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse victims and their children. It is a fixed term role until November 2025.
The Resettlement Team focuses on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to victims of domestic abuse and their families.
The post holder will support victims experiencing domestic abuse to access safe accommodation and those resettling in Wiltshire following fleeing domestic abuse, make long term positive and sustainable changes in their lives and to recover from the harm of domestic abuse. To do this you will work sensitively with service users to support them in making the changes to live free from harm, ensuring they feel safe, secure and supported.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about preventing domestic abuse and supporting survivors to live free from abuse.
This role will be based in Trowbridge, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide a high quality support service to victims experiencing domestic abuse, giving practical and emotional support.
- Provide support to service users and their families when living in safe accommodation and resettlement support when moving on from refuge accommodation and in the wider community.
- Manage a caseload of assessed service users through telephone and face to face support, to enable them to increase their safety and make positive choices for the future.
- Prepare and deliver educational, time bound sessions on a one-to-one basis with service users around domestic abuse including, but not exclusive to, safety, power and control, barriers to leaving, boundaries, impact on children, moving on and red flags.
- Complete an initial assessment of individuals’ and families’ needs to identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
- Referring service users to the various groups within Wiltshire, such as Empowering You, Rediscovering You and Connecting You.
- Supporting service users who are moving on from refuge, providing advice information and support to victims, including around further safe accommodation and independent living, as required.
- Improve parents’ understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on their child and work with the parent to provide continued support to their child.
- Empower service users to make informed decisions about various aspects of their lives through discussions about options available to them as survivors of domestic abuse.
- Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence and participation for service users.
- Ensure support provided is accessible to service users in terms of local and times.
- Give priority to service users who have had to move due to domestic abuse.
- Undertake regular caseload review meetings with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supporting to progress and achieve desired outcomes.
- Undertake risk assessments and implementing robust safety management plans, with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.
- Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
- Respond to emergencies and crises, including access to places of safety.
- Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Phoenix team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.
- Develop and establish positive partnerships with Wiltshire’s housing organisations and services to ensure holistic and joined up service delivery.
- Assist service users in attending housing, legal and other appointments where necessary.
- Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
- Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved.
Groups and Activities
- Focus on assisting clients and their families to reduce social isolation by connecting them to local community facilities, activities and groups.
- Assist with recruiting clients to be involved in the development of groups or activities or groups, providing them with on-going support.
General
- Work at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Lone Working Policy and Procedure.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Update written and computerised records with accurate and clear information.
- Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.
- Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy and best practice.
- Act as duty officer for Wiltshire, responding to incoming calls, logging referrals and making assigned outgoing calls, according to the duty rota. Duty shifts will be 9.00am to 5.00pm in the Trowbridge office.
