An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and skilled digital specialist to join Refuge as Head of Digital Mobilisation and Engagement.

Leading a talented team of six, the Head of Digital Mobilisation and Engagement is responsible for Refuge’s digital engagement and mobilisation work, collaborating with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Policy, to continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of Refuge’s work.

They will implement our Digital Engagement and Mobilisation Strategy, delivering sustainable growth and value to Refuge, with an emphasis on digital mobilisation to shift social norms, change policy and rasie income. An expert in mobilisation strategy, social, email, website, content, paid media, and digital tactics, they will also provide analysis and insight to improve programme performance, whilst ensuring we are testing, learning, and optimising all the time.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of developing and delivering digital strategies to mobilise the public with innovative campaigns, recruit new supporters, grow income, and deepen engagement, in addition, they will possess deep knowledge of the theory and principles of digital engagement, campaigning and fundraising.

This role would suit an ambitious digital expert seeking to utilise their technical and leadership skills to make a real impact on Refuge’s work.

About the role

As Operations Administrator, you will work as part of the Operations Team to ensure the smooth running of the ‘behind the scenes’ work of the organisation, to support the Operations Manager in processing the monthly impact measurement data and to provide operational administrative and IT support for the organisation’s outreach teams and the general work of the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reporting – collating and analysing information to showcase the performance and impact of the organisation’s work to all identified stakeholders
• Working alongside our teams to gather all required information for impact management according to required deadlines
• Produce impact reports for grant funders and internal/external stakeholders
• Use performance data to produce evaluative reports and metrics for analysis
• Collate and curate good news stories for internal and external promotion and celebration of the organisation’s work e.g. newsletters, social media and internal good news roundups
• Support our onsite and remote team members in their use of our Microsoft platform and accounts, emails, calendars, and IT assets including onboarding new team members.

About the Panel

No child should ever suffer harm, abuse or neglect, and reducing this is the primary focus of the independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel.

Set up by the UK Government in 2018, the Panel reviews all cases when children die or are seriously harmed, and abuse or neglect is known or suspected. The aim is to see what lessons can be drawn from these tragic incidents to prevent them from happening again elsewhere.

About the role

The independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel is looking for a part-time chair.

The Chair is responsible for leading and managing the Panel. They must set the strategic vision for the Panel and ensure the Panel’s work is effective in improving the safeguarding of children. It is also vital they influence policy and practice change effectively to maximise the Panel’s impact on child safeguarding.

It is a varied role, which includes working with Ministers and senior government officials, supervising fieldwork, undertaking analysis and disseminating learning to those working in child safeguarding.

We are looking for individuals with experience working strategically at a senior level and operationally in child protection. However, the successful candidate will be appointed to fill this role as an individual acting in the public interest and not as a representative of their particular profession, employer or interest group.

The Chair will be required to attend fortnightly Panel meetings, either virtually or in-person in London. They must also be available to attend ad hoc meetings with key stakeholders, as well as working with a Secretariat.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide strategic leadership for the Panel, leading the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the Panel, ensuring a focus on Panel’s impact.
• To be ultimately responsible and accountable for the Panel’s work and conduct of its functions. This includes taking urgent decisions on behalf of the whole Panel when required.
• To lead continuous improvement reviews of Panel work and membership to ensure its ongoing effectiveness. This includes leading long-term planning for Panel membership.
• To ensure the Panel demonstrates the highest standards of integrity at all times, including ensuring the identification and management of any conflicts of interest which might arise.
• Chairing Panel meetings effectively so that objectives are met, ensuring that all members views are taken into account. This includes creating a culture of openness, debate and collaboration that maximises use of all members skills and experience.

• The ability to provide strong strategic leadership to the Panel and guide the work of the independent secretariat, demonstrated by a significant record of achievement in senior leadership roles in a complex organisation.
• The ability to chair high level meetings, manage team dynamics and motivate team members effectively so that objectives are met and clear decisions made.
• The ability to think strategically and exercise sound independent judgement on complex and sensitive issues.
• The ability to analyse and interpret detailed information from a range of agencies into serious cases involving children and families.
• Being a skilled communicator and influencer, who can use those skills to handle high-profile, sensitive issues and gain and keep the respect and confidence of others, including the child safeguarding sector, Ministers, and the public, to influence policy and practice change.
• A strong understanding of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.

Sands offers support to anyone affected by the death of a baby. 

Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.

In this role, you will provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands. You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.

The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.

With proven ability in providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of, and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby. 

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.

The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats.

You will have effective time management skills and able to manage your own workload.  The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

Canaan Project are seeking a Director to lead the organisation in to a new season of growing and strengthening our support for young women .

The role

We have a vacancy for a Regional Administrator working 33 hours per week. You would be joining a dedicated and friendly team of regional staff and volunteers. The ability to work autonomously as well as being a good team player is essential.

It is an exciting time to be joining Cruse, as we are in the process of improving our processes and services to strengthen the support that we offer to bereaved people and our volunteers. The post holder will coordinate and assist with the delivery of all aspects of service contracts in Cambridgeshire, supporting the Regional Manager and the wider team. The role is mainly home working with occasional meeting attendance and service delivery within Cambridgeshire. Networking and engaging with local groups / communities will form an essential element to the role, as well as providing initial contact and support to residents in the Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Huntingdonshire area.

You will be the first point of contact within the service for bereaved people, third parties and external organisations. Additionally, you will support volunteers in the delivery of services and support the overall day-to-day running of the Cambridgeshire service.

Purpose of the post

HDR UK is seeking to appoint an experienced and hands-on Project Coordinator to deliver vital UK-wide initiatives which focus on building public trust and confidence in the use of data and statistics in research. Reporting to the Senior Partnerships Manager, Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement at HDR UK and the Senior Communications and Engagement Manager at DARE UK, this new and pivotal role will work with several PEDRI and DARE UK partner organisations. The role will be key to supporting and drawing on the expertise of organisations across the data research and statistics sector in the UK to embed meaningful public engagement and involvement in data research.

PEDRI has set up its approach and delivery plan until March 2027 and needs a skilled and collaborative Project Coordinator to drive the delivery of this plan. The role holder will bring effective project coordinating tools and skills to work with and support organisations, teams and senior leaders to deliver on objectives across communications, events and stakeholder involvement and engagement. Additionally, the post holder will directly support one of PEDRI’s founding partners; DARE UK’s public involvement and engagement functions and will have a central role in working across the data research and statistics ecosystem. The post holder will draw on expertise to enable shared knowledge and good practise-based learning about involvement and engagement of patients, the public and practitioners in data science.

The successful candidate will share HDR UK’s values, have strong collaboration skills, excellent communications skills, be comfortable with supporting multiple projects at pace in a complex organisation and demonstrate a clear willingness and passion to support organisations within the Initiative to trial, develop and deliver innovative approaches to engagement.

Main responsibilities

• Organise and administer PEDRI meetings including the Governing Board, Steering Group and Public Advisory Group meetings, annual Away Days and ad-hoc working group meetings whilst ensuring agendas, meeting notes and actions are sent out in a timely manner
• Support the delivery of detailed project plan for PEDRI, reporting on progress, and highlighting key milestones and risks to key stakeholders
• Develop and maintain partnerships with PEDRI partners and facilitate the involvement of key stakeholders throughout the Initiative
• Support the Initiative Co-Leads with meeting set up, note taking and following on actions as needed.
• Co-ordinate regular reports from different working groups and prepare relevant updates for onward communication
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
• Act as the ‘point of contact’ for the Initiative across partner organisations ensuring they are kept updated, receive all information in a timely manner and that any issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner
• Support small working groups to develop full scale project plans and programme of activities, define outcomes, schedule project timelines, assign individual responsibilities and timescales and identify requirements including for wider stakeholder engagement
• Manage the development of communications materials such as standardised presentation and communication decks
• Support the commissioning of external suppliers to support delivery of the Initiative’s communications and/or events, managing relationships and project managing delivery to time and budget.
• Organise, co-ordinate and support high quality events to engage with a wide range of audiences, managing event logistics, evaluating effectiveness, providing follow-up communications and ensuring event outputs, impacts and learnings are disseminated widely
• Work with the Communications and Engagement Lead to maintain a calendar of communication, events and engagement activities, coordinated across partner organisations
• Work with the Communications and Engagement Lead to develop and manage a series of PEDRI webinars
• Working with colleagues across partner organisations, maintain relevant media and communication contact lists in HubSpot (CRM)
• Manage PEDRI’s monthly bulletin, seeking updates from all partners in a timely manner to ensure the update is ready for circulation
• Manage PEDRIs social media channels with support from HDR UK’s comms colleagues, updating and posting regularly
• Work with the senior managers and partner organisations to source and apply for further funding, being clear on resource requirements
• Support finance tracking and liaise with the HDR UK Finance team
• Arrange, submit and process payments for Public Advisory Groups and public contributors involved in the work

Experience

• Experience of working with the public and supporting PPIE activities
• Experience in supporting project management with an ability to apply management principles and processes and proactively manage risk
• Demonstrable success in delivering complex programmes/ running several projects at once to similar timeframes with conflicting priorities and many collaborating organisations in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent experience of defining and documenting requirements from multiple stakeholders and facilitating collaboration across teams and/or organisations to help create and co-deliver shared goals
• Demonstrable experience of planning, running and evaluating successful activities and events
• Experience of facilitating, supporting meetings, minuting and preparing presentations
• Excellent experience of supporting and communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including written communications (e.g. news stories, case studies)
• Experience of managing and utilising social media channels and other communication channels for organisations or initiatives.
• Experience of successfully using a range of software packages and tools to support delivery of tasks such as HubSpot, Trello, Monday, Survey Monkey, MS Forms as well as traditional GANTT style planning.
