The events team is responsible for delivering a large portion of the free events that take place across The Fund; including online events, roundtables, workshops, receptions and dinners. The team also has ownership over our paid-for events programme; which includes virtual conferences, in-person conferences and congresses. The events team ensures that there is a co-ordinated and uniform approach to delivering virtual or in-person events, and that each is delivered to the same high standard.
This role will give you an exciting opportunity to work in our busy events team within a well-respected health think-tank and charity. You will work with colleagues on planning and delivering a mixture of pay-to-attend conferences (virtual and in-person), roundtable discussions, dinners, and free online events. You will also manage the content design and delivery of our joint-badged events with our Corporate Partners and Supporters.
You will lead on several events in the schedule; ensuring they run smoothly, keep to strict budgets, are delivered to a very high standard, meet the expectations of colleagues and delegates, and enhance our reputation and public profile. You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our portfolio of in-person, virtual and hybrid events.
To join us, you’ll need a degree (or equivalent) and experience in planning and delivering virtual and in person conferences and other smaller events. With this background, you’ll know how to research and develop event content to create engaging programmes and attract wide audiences. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead effective logistics arrangements in preparation for and on the day of events. We’ll expect you to work hard to support the team and you will be given responsibility for your own areas of work. You’ll also need to be flexible, diligent, and comfortable being the main point of contact for many people from sponsors to speakers.

The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Data Analyst to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week. Alternatively, we will consider part-time hours on a Job Share basis. The role is offered on a hybrid or remote basis depending on proximity to a NEA office.
As part of NEA’s Policy and Advocacy Directorate, you will work within our highly effective Insights and Impact team, as we focus on a decade of delivery that guarantees a fair energy future for all, and ensures those on the lowest incomes and living in the least efficient homes receive the support needed to protect health and wellbeing.
The post holder will support National Energy Action in harnessing the power of data analysis and visualisation in the delivery of our charitable aims. They will form part of a process to embed a ‘data driven culture’ within the charity, enhancing our capability and capacity to:

Understand and evidence the needs of fuel poor households.

Develop and apply data insights to directly inform the management, development, and delivery of NEA services.

What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable and applied experience in a data analyst role and hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant subject. You will be familiar and confident in using data visualization tools and programming languages to manipulate, analyse and present data.
A compelling communicator you will have the ability to translate complex data into easily digestible, accessible and actionable insights that can be easily understood by diverse stakeholders. The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups).
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. We seek a climate communications lead who is keen to bring their skills in campaigns, narrative-shift, media and digital comms to the world of steel decarbonisation. The steel industry is a major driver of climate emissions and yet few in the industry feel urgency and few outside the industry know that. Your job will be to help us change that.
This is an international role in an international climate campaign organisation that challenges steelmakers and the wider industry. We seek a dynamic communications lead based in the Europe/Africa time zone, who will work closely with Asia-Pacific colleagues, lead delivery in Europe, and coordinate our comms work internationally.

SteelWatch is an international climate campaign organisation established in June 2023, driving corporate accountability and action in the steel sector. Our vision is a steel industry that underpins a thriving zero emissions economy. Our priority is that the steel industry gets on track for a 1.5 degree trajectory this side of 2030.
We run corporate campaigns and challenge the global industry to replace complacency with urgent action. We currently focus heavily in Europe and Japan, with team members in UK/Europe and Asia Pacific timezones. As a young organisation, we are evolving, testing, and learning, and seek team members who will enjoy breaking new ground with us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will combine three core elements: (1) ensuring coordination of SteelWatch communications activities, across all our multiple initiatives and timezones, ensuring great content, targeted reach, timeliness, coherence of message and coordinated plans; (2) ongoing and surge delivery of comms products and messages, such as media outreach, social media, thought pieces, particularly in Europe/Africa and sometimes US timezone. This will align with delivery of comms work in Japan/Asia led by colleagues in the region. (3) sharpening our communications strategy, our targets, and our ability to deliver our messages to the right people, shaped jointly with our Asia/Pacific based comms strategist.
The role requires coordination across the small and growing comms team, which is diverse in terms of experience level, region and expertise. It also requires hands-on delivery in your region/timezone and based on your own specialist skills. Media engagement is currently a gap we need to fill and an ideal candidate will lead and deliver our media work, as well as coordinating our wider comms. If the successful candidate excels in other strengths but not media, then we - and you - will need to build the team differently in terms of future recruits and consultants.

Ensure coordination and coherence of the overall SteelWatch editorial and content calendar, with co-management of comms planning, team meetings, and ongoing communications outputs.

Design the communication strategy and a range of creative outputs for our corporate campaigns, particularly the ones focused on Europe-based companies, in line with campaign’s theory of change.

Develop communications materials to shift the dominant narrative of the steel industry which may include data visualisation, rankings, storytelling etc.

Build and maintain strong relations with journalists in key media and trade media outlets, manage a database of journalists, and ensure regular flows of news/information to establish SteelWatch as a credible voice in steel decarbonisation.

Coordinate timely responsive comms outputs in relation to external news and events.

Essential skills and experiences

At least 8 years’ experience (and potentially much more) in strategic communications, including journalism, digital media and storytelling;

Supporting the Direct Marketing Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering growth in voluntary income through our direct marketing acquisition programme utilising a range of campaigns and products, both online and offline. Products include one-off donations, regular giving (including value-exchange/ sponsorship products) and lottery. You’ll also be responsible for the development, implementation, day to day management, evaluation, and delivery of our acquisition portfolio.
You will be able to work in a hybrid way between home and 2 days per week at our London office.

About You:
You will have experience of running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
You will have knowledge of google analytics as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.
About The Role
- Manage the delivery of acquisition campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes.
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop acquisition products, journeys and communications, gathering information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns.
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and monitor performance
- Working collaboratively with a number of internal teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of annual acquisition campaigns.

Overall purpose of post
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will have a key role to play in delivering the marketing and communications strategy of Low Carbon Hub. It is a busy role that works across multiple projects with multiple partners, and you will actively input into plans for project delivery. The post holder will write, edit, coordinate and publish content across various channels including websites, social media, press releases, print and online communications and marketing materials.
As part of a small team in a busy environment, we are looking for someone who can proactively get stuck in and be comfortable working flexibly to take on ad hoc tasks when they arise. You will get to be involved in all aspects of communications and work on a variety of interesting projects as part of a leading community energy organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing
- Support the development and delivery of marketing plans for new and existing products and services, including community energy share offers.
- Identify, investigate and recommend opportunities for reaching new audiences, such as potential investors.
- Co-ordinate the design and development of digital and offline marketing collateral to meet organisational objectives, and in consultation with project partners.
- Provide marketing support for events such as AGM, conferences, webinars.
- Represent Low Carbon Hub at events, such as community events, attend meetings, run stalls and give presentations.
Communications
- Lead on developing and uploading engaging content for the Low Carbon Hub website as well as programme websites, such as Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools and Energy Solutions Oxfordshire.
- Manage social media channels, including the creation of engaging content, using the appropriate tone and voice, and lead on responding to and starting conversations to build brand awareness.
- Produce, edit and distribute updates and key material for internal and external audiences such as newsletters, reports, and case studies.
- Provide communications support for Low Carbon Hub programmes such as the Energy Advice Programme and Helpdesk service.
- Work closely with the Community Engagement Manager to develop communications support for low carbon community groups.
- Stay up to date on relevant current affairs and communications trends, building these into our regular communication mix.
- Capture learning and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Liaise with, and report to, project partners and funders on a timely basis.
Press
- Field inquiries from press, politicians and service users.
- Create press releases and statements as needed.
- Maintain reporting system for media appearances.
Brand
- Ensure consistent branding is used throughout the organisation and help maintain brand reputation.
- Act as brand champion.
Selection criteria: Experience, knowledge and skills
Essential:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a dedicated marketing or communications role.
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to a high standard.
- Ability to market and coordinate events.
- Excellent understanding of digital platforms and know-how to deliver campaigns.
- An excellent grasp of English and the ability to write concise, focused copy tailored for different audiences, with excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and translate complex messages into memorable and engaging ones.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with external contacts and a range of stakeholders.
- A team player with the ability to build relationships with our partners.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, assess and prioritise workload and deliver to a deadline.
- Ability to work flexibly in a small team.
- A commitment to the Low Carbon Hub’s work and mission.
Desirable:
- Able to use Wordpress, Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite and Adobe InDesign, or similar programmes.
- Experience in briefing and managing external suppliers such as designers.
- Ability to set up metrics to increase understanding of the impact of marketing activity and to report and use evaluation for improvement.
- Experience of working with Office 365, Trello, Google Analytics, and social analytics.
