Job Purpose
 
BSR’s education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities. 

This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Events and Education Manager and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and eLearning activities.  You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board. 

This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.
 

Main responsibilities

• Manage course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.  
• Manage course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
• Manage the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
• Manage the creation of monthly eLearning packages including webinars, podcasts and eLearning cases.
• Manage the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
• Manage CPD accreditation of educational activities. 
• Manage events inbox and education team enquiries.
• Input into our education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for projects owned. 
• Produce content for webpages and social media platforms to drive interest and engagement and keep delegates informed.  
• Attend committee meetings, provide updates if needed and assist with the minute-taking, agenda preparation and follow-up on actions as necessary.  
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Events and Education Manager.

Please note: Occasional travel is expected including attendance and overnight stays at BSR conferences, courses and events.

Severn Wye is looking for a caring, confident individual to support people facing fuel poverty and champion energy efficiency.

This role is at the forefront of what we do as an organisation. You will be working across Gloucestershire or Heerfordshire or South Gloucestershire , visiting people in their own homes and giving advice at community events.

This role is home-based but requires extensive travel within the area. It can be either full or part time.

As a Community-based Energy Adviser, you will focus on supporting and educating individuals and families who face barriers to accessing energy services and may be in fuel poverty. You will be working with people in their homes or advising them at events in their local community. You will support them through the process of managing and reducing debt, accessing funding and engaging with smart technology.

This can be a demanding role – some of your clients will be facing huge challenges – but it is extremely rewarding and you will be making a measurable difference to people’s quality of life. You will give at-risk consumers the knowledge and confidence to be more engaged in their energy use and able to make sound decisions to manage it — ultimately putting money back in their pockets and improving their resilience and wellbeing. You will be a positive, intuitive and caring ally, empowering people who are overwhelmed by the world of energy and who may be facing multiple economic and societal challenges.

Mental Health Support Worker

We are looking to recruit a very motivated and able individual, who will appreciate the exciting opportunity, to work with a variety of clients supporting them with their mental health.

Position: Safe Harbour Non-Clinical Support Worker

Location: Epsom

Hours: 37 hrs. The service is open 8.45am-6pm, 365 days of the year. Full time staff will be part of the team covering the service’s needs. Bank staff will work casual shift/hours.

The Role

The Safe Harbour Practitioner will be required to coordinate and lead on activities and groups and carry out one to one sessions for people using the service both face to face, online, and by telephone. Bank staff will cover sickness, annual leave etc with no commitment to accept shifts offered.

The Safe Harbour Pilot is a 12-month Pilot in response to the rise in need and pressures across the mental health system. By creating greater capacity across the pathway and providing an additional day time resource where, a non-clinical model is best placed to meet the holistic needs of people, and support them to avoid escalation, manage and prevent crisis, better manage their mental health, stabilise, and build resilience. The service will be staffed 7 days a week, 365 days a year, by third sector non-clinical mental health practitioners.

This is not a front-line crisis service but works with those not requiring clinical crisis intervention or hospitalisation to build resilience with a focus on preventative work.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with clients face-to-face, to support their mental health.
• Establish and maintain a strong and positive rapport with clients of the Safe Harbour.
• Develop a vibrant programme of support.
• Motivate people attending groups, and other support sessions.
• Support the manager in the day-to-day management of the service.
• Work with external agencies to develop a programme of activities.
• Motivate and support people attending groups, and other support sessions.
• Complete all tasks related to set up, including planning initial meetings, calendar updates and rotas.
• Accept and process initial referrals and implement individual monitoring tools (Recovery Star).
• Complete risk assessments as required (including client risk).
• Monitor and evaluate activities and provide data for our funders and trustees.
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of the programmes and services and implement improvements as necessary.
• Some remote and offsite working.

About You

You will have experience of working in mental health, wellbeing, behaviour change work with adults, or similar role along with the ability to travel and work flexibly.

Purpose of The role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.

Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.

This position will:

· Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with collaborative partners in the housing support sector.

· Budget Preparation: Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities.

Can you help us to support new dads and dads-to-be?

We are recruiting a Dad Matters Coordinator to help us reach more families across Barnet, Brent and Harrow. They will work alongside our team of Coordinators, local Family Hubs and a range of services including Maternity, Health Visiting and Children's Services. 

The Dad Matters Coordinator will deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions aimed at fathers in the First 1001 Days. They will support dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to service. They also work with professionals and perinatal services to ensure dads and male carers are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways. Addtionally, they will help develop and run sessions with dads and will  be at the forefront of growing our Dad Matters volunteering opportunities.

This is a new post, and we are looking for someone who can build on our existing relationships and make a real impact on the mental health and wellbeing of new dads and dads-to-be. 

The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training, and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

Official Job Title: Early Literacy Interventionist 

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to work with children to support and develop their phonics and reading skills? 

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

We are seeking a part-time Early Literacy Interventionist (ELI), based at Galleywall Primary School in Southwark, South London. This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

For your caseload of target children, you will conduct an initial baseline assessment and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

Networking/Partnership

• Work closely with partner agencies
• Promote the services of the organisation to local housing, justice, social welfare, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Contribute knowledge, expertise and ideas to appropriate local forums.

Administration

• Set up and maintain casework and other admin systems in accordance with organisation specifications.
• Maintain agreed monitoring and outcome information for commissioning agencies and internal management purposes.

Professional development

• Keep up to date with legislation, case law, and good practice in debt and welfare benefits advice, attending appropriate training courses, using online resources and reading relevant publications.
• Attend meetings as required by manager.
• Participate in staff development programmes, supervision and performance management meetings.

General

• Uphold the aims and principles of the organization.

About the Role

Community Connectors work as part of an integrated, blended mental health offer to support people with emotional, social and practical needs to access a range of local, non-medical and non-clinical services, to improve confidence, social inclusion and independence.

This role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with statutory, third sector and NHS colleagues to support clients who are suffering from moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will need to have experience working with those suffering with mental health illness as well as being able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the services, support networks and local resources that may assist in improved outcomes for those dealing with complex and enduring mental health issues. The ability to be adaptable, work independently and the resilience to work in some challenging environments are key attributes for this role.

Service Delivery

• Assess suitability for community connection support as part of a blended team approach and support individuals to access the service by utilising in depth knowledge of local voluntary and community services and networks in your respective area
• To work with individuals to coproduce a plan to address their mental health and wellbeing goals. Am enable people to achieve these goals through facilitating access and connecting with appropriate resources
• Enable people to access community resources which may include accompanying them.
• Offer support, guidance and help where possible to people to gain confidence, overcome initial fears and seek solutions to any barriers inhibiting attendance.
• Take a holistic approach, based on the individuals’ priorities and wider determinants of health that impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, poor housing, being unemployed, loneliness and caring responsibilities.
• To work as part of an integrated team to ensure the best outcomes for each person accessing the service.
• Identify and build good working relationships with the community groups, relevant services and activities for partnership work and signposting as well as keep updated information about them.
• Competently work as part of a blended team, under direction from Mind BLMK and ELFT, working with independence and in an agile way to support people with complex mental health challenges.
