St John International have embarked on a new global strategy, changing the nature of the organisation and the services provided to the global family of St John organisations. This mid-level position will be a key member of a small projects/programmes team at the heart of delivery in an international charity. The post holder will play an important role as implementation of our global strategy enters a new phase – and offers the chance to get involved in a wide variety of different functions, including; project management, governance development and policy-making, fundraising and the design and delivery of programmes utilising these funds.
The Order of St John (also known as St John International or SJI) is the international coordinating body for all St John organisations around the world, usually known as St John Ambulance. Acting as the secretariat for a family of 44 organisations, SJI manages projects that encourage collaboration and help St John to be recognised as the global leader in first aid and medical responses to community health needs.
Initially, the post holder will be working within a small team ensuring that a new “St John Hub” is populated with a collection of relevant and necessary information for all St John organisations. Once complete, the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing curation and development of the hub as a central resource according to emerging areas of need and global discussion. In addition, the St John Hub will host online learning courses covering key management principles for St John organisations. Content for these courses has already been collected, but the post holder will need to translate them into online learning courses, using Articulate 360 .
As our fundraising strategy develops, the post holder will work with the Head of Programmes and St John organisations around the world to identify suitable projects for central funding, and will assist, when necessary, in the administration of those funds. This will include overseeing small grant making processes, but also assisting recipients with reporting and administration of grants.
The post will suit someone with experience in the processes of collecting, organizing, storing, and distributing data and knowledge within a global and multi cultural organization. They should know how to implement information management policies to ensure data is accessible, secure, and used effectively to support decision-making.
Key deliverables:
· Work with colleagues in St John International to populate the “St John Hub”, and then ensure it is kept up to date with latest information.
· Build contacts with St John organisations around the world to source relevant information and updates to keep the “Hub” up to date and be a point of contact for St John organisations/managers around the world looking for information on a particular subject.
· Take existing knowledge and learning and, using the Articulate 360 platform, build into online learning courses for St John organisations and managers around the world to utilise.
· Manage St John International’s profile on the Kaya online learning platform, and update lessons and courses as required.
· Work with Head of Programmes, and (future) Head of Fundraising to develop the grant making process, and administer to this as necessary once running.
Applicant requirements
Required experience or skills:
· Experience in roles that require the ability to organise and manage a large variety of information in a user friendly arrangement.
· Ability to write on-line learning courses using the Articulate 360 package, or similar approaches.
· Ability to communicate complex issues in simple, straightforward language.
· Keen interest in organisational development within the context of international charities or social enterprise.
· Experience working in a large-scale social enterprise / international health care charity.
· Experience facilitating and energising online meetings.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365, especially Teams and SharePoint.
· Experience of working with global teams of volunteers, recognising different cultures and practices, and being able to secure commitments to carry out further work on your behalf.
· Enthusiastic and approachable, ready to listen and engage with people.
· Ability to identify support needs in good time, and to manage office functions around the role in a friendly and collegiate manner.
Desirable:
· Understanding of good practice in governance and management structures.
· Understanding of different business models across different contexts.
· Experience in volunteer organisations and managing activity with external partners.
· Experience of grant making processes for international charities, either as a donor or receiver.
· Previous engagement of any kind with a St John organisation anywhere in the world will be very helpful.
Terms
Full time position. Working hybrid according to preference, but with requirement to be present in the London office 2 days per week.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training, increase hepatitis C awareness, and access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C.

Working in partnership with hepatitis C & liver surveillance teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post holder will deliver education on hepatitis C & Liver Health to Eastern European communities deemed at risk of HCV infection & liver disease across all of the West London ODN area and ensure that everyone is offered and supported to treatment. Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager the post holder will ensure that Eastern European people with an identified diagnosis of hepatitis C & liver cirrhosis are offered a referral to specialist hepatitis treatment & liver surveillance services in West London area.

BACKGROUND
The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children.
Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams.
Solutions across all UK nations are currently either not yet actioned or are severely underserving the current need. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The role of the Policy and Public Affairs Manager is to support us to deliver on this mission through influencing governments to address child morning hunger and the underlying systemic causes, in order to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping policy initiatives and influencing decision makers across Westminster and Whitehall. Specifically, you will help ensure the new Early Adopters Programme – the government’s pilot breakfast scheme in England – is hunger-focused and puts children and young people at its centre. This in turn, will inform the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision across England from September 2026 – a policy which you will also work to influence. In tandem, you will be responsible for informing and shaping how breakfast is included and positioned in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill.
More widely, you will keep abreast of political developments relevant to Magic Breakfast, identifying opportunities to respond, influence and shape the debate. You will be able to put complex policy ideas across in simple and effective terms both in person and through reports and briefings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll play a vital role in bringing to life 38 Degrees’ media and public affairs strategy, in service of 38 Degrees’ mission: to make our country fairer, more respectful and sustainable. As we adjust to a shift in our political environment, this brand new role will relentlessly and powerfully amplify 38 Degrees campaigns and the voices of our supporters to the general public, the media and decision makers in the UK.
Working alongside the Public Affairs & Media Manager, and with colleagues across the campaigns team and beyond you’ll spend every day trying to shine a light on the actions our supporters take on campaigns they care about. From monitoring what’s going on in Parliament – and when it’s the perfect moment for the 38 Degrees community to use our collective voices – to being able to put together media packages that are irresistible to journalists, you’ll know how to skillfully use the public affairs and media tools at our disposal to win campaigns, raise our profile and build our reputation.
Your background and experience
You’ll have a proven track record of great political and news judgement, and have played a key role in using these skills in a campaigning environment to deliver powerful campaigns that deliver impactful media and public affairs results. That could be from working in a press office or media environment, to working with (or for) a politician. It’s possible you are more experienced at either media work or public affairs work – but either way, you’ll know what it takes to use both to influence decision makers and land a big news story. We’re looking for a person who knows the political and news agenda each day, and can help set it too.
The person recruited will need to be a brilliant communicator, as at home speaking to 38 Degrees supporters and empowering them to act as media case studies, as you are pitching a story to a journalist or handling enquiries from MP’s offices.
We’re looking for someone who can show they’re highly organised, know how to prioritise and with a track record of successful project management, when it comes to partnership work and events.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to show us you’re team-focused and know what it takes to build positive and productive relationships with colleagues, in a fast paced environment – where the news cycle means that priorities can sometimes change for all of us at a moment’s notice.

Events delivery
- Help organise and deliver events such as report launches, private roundtables, and conferences; including preparation, delivery/logistics, and post event wrap-up.
- Help identify key stakeholders, influencers and decision makers to build relations with so we can maximise the impact of our research and activities.

o Facilitate monthly virtual USHchats for parents and carers (these take place one evening a month)

Role description
The Communities Lead is a critical role in developing and delivering the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment, facilitating its national and local thematic networks, engaging with colleagues across and beyond the social housing sector and identifying potential opportunities for collaboration. We’re all about fostering communities of practice and supporting the sector to have a transformative impact in local communities it works alongside across the UK.
Working closely with the Head of Communities and Projects, the Communities and Network Lead will ensure that the activities of the Centre’s networks align with and inform the overarching strategy of the Centre for Excellence in Community Investment. We have an exiting career opportunity for a Marketing Manager (Healthcare), to join our expert Marcomms team.
This key role will provide marketing recommendations for internal clients with a range of healthcare or bereavement marketing needs, whilst managing healthcare and bereavement marketing campaigns and activity from briefing to final delivery and evaluation.
You will position Sue Ryder as a specialist and expert healthcare and bereavement provider, through tactical and strategic marketing communications and ensure healthcare and bereavement marketing messaging is consistent and on brand across all marketing and communications activity.
About the role:
• Work with senior colleagues in healthcare to develop consistent branding of services across all hospices.
• Review, develop and manage hospice literature and marketing materials ensuring consistency across hospices and adherence to tone of voice and brand guidelines.
• Review, develop and manage literature and marketing materials ensuring consistency across centres and adherence to tone of voice and brand guidelines.
• Develop marketing plans and materials to promote bereavement products and services.
• Develop and maintain key messages for a healthcare professionals’ audience.
• Develop marketing plans and materials to increase the recruitment of key healthcare staff.
• Manage projects from initial brief through to design and production to dissemination, working with others and leading cross-team working groups where appropriate.
• Managing the print run for healthcare marketing materials, liaising with designers
• Act as health and social care brand guardian, on all relevant marketing and communications materials.
• Support colleagues' understanding of relevant and appropriate marketing tools and channels to meet organisational objectives
• Build strong, internal relationships with all teams across Sue Ryder to ensure marketing activity is considered well in advance.
• Help ensure all health marketing materials remain up to date.
• Continuously increase sector and professional marketing knowledge and feed into marketing activity.
• To stay informed of all Sue Ryder activity and to understand and adhere to the values and objectives of Sue Ryder.
Contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities.
About you:
• Proven experience in planning, delivering and evaluating multi-channel marketing campaigns to deadlines and within budget.
• Proven experience delivering either B2B or B2C healthcare marketing campaigns and projects.
• An understanding of the structure of the NHS (is desirable), and a willingness to stay up to date on developments within the health sector
• Experience of cross-team working to ensure effective, integrated ways of working.
• Building and developing strong working relationships with internal staff such as Service Directors and Clinical Leads.
• Experience working with health professionals to develop and interrogate marketing briefs.
• Working with internal and freelance designers to produce engaging and impactful marketing materials.
• Keen attention to detail, a creative approach and strong presentation skills.
• Excellent copywriting and copy editing skills
• To be ambitious, and able to work at pace with the ability to proactively overcome problems.
