We are looking for an experienced Young Carers Practitioner with an impressive track record of delivering high quality 1 to 1 services to deliver the RBKC Young Carers Personal Budgets service. You will strive for excellent standards, robustly ensuring a quality, outcomes driven and accessible service. By joining Family Action’s Young Carers Personal Budgets Service you will ensure holistic health promotion and a community-based approach to improve and promote the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of young carers by awarding a personal budget for a physical activity of their choice.

Your impact

Collaborating with young people and their families, referrers and physical activity providers and promoting co-production with young people, you will provide 1:1 personalised support to young carers to access a physical activity of their choice which will positively impact their physical health and emotional wellbeing. You will manage existing partnerships and provide outreach to other RBKC young people’s services to support regular referrals into our service and will also sign-post the young people to relevant services when wider issues that impact safeguarding, health and wellbeing are identified.

Your skills   

You will bring your knowledge and experience of working with families and young people to complete a brief young carers assessment and collaboratively identify the physical activity of their choice to access through the small grant service. The post requires an ability to manage your own caseload and support the deputy team manager in completing the data monitoring. Multi-agency working, excellent communication, empathy, safeguarding knowledge and system recording skills are vital for this role. With a client-facing approach you will be passionate about engaging our service users in all aspects of our work including co-production.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Supported Housing Manager at Horsham Y Centre supporting 50 young people aged 16-25 to alleviate the risk of or impact of homelessness. The service is staffed 24 hours a day with a support team, night team and management based onsite. Situated in the middle of Horsham, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community. It aims to support residents into independent accommodation through life skills support. In delivering the role, you will report to the Supported Housing Manager and be responsible for:

Service Provision: Supporting the Supported Housing Manager with the daily operations of the services so that they meet the requirements of the service specification including compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ofsted regulations. Oversee the residents’ referral, interview and induction processes for all beds and ensure the Occupancy Agreements and House Rules are fully understood. Ensure the quality of accommodation that is provided, liaising with the Housing and Property Services team to complete estate inspections and health & safety risk assessments, and to turn around voids and organise repairs in line with organisational targets and statutory obligations. With the Supported Housing Manager ensure effective income collection for all beds, working closely with the Rents team to create a rent payment culture.

Leadership and People Management: Directly line manage team members, ensuring their service delivery, working culture and personal development mirror best practice. Ensuring the team is adequately trained and empowered to work effectively and creatively with our young people to enable them to achieve their aspirations and ambitions, whilst ensuring they are supported within safe and consistent boundaries.

General: Be a member of the ‘on call’ rota to provide out of hours management support to projects in the wider locality. Reflect Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), Trauma Informed approaches and restorative practices.

You will:

• Engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
• Work flexibly across the community and withing our multi-agency partnership settings. Your caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care.
• Work with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to knife crime, 5 step family work, exploitation, physical and emotional health as well as substance misuse.

To succeed, you’ll:

• Have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
• Be an energetic and confident self-starter.

Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum

About the role: 

As Chief Executive Officer you will have overall executive leadership for Citizens Advice East Berkshire, working with the management team and the Trustee Board to devise and implement strategic and operational plans. This is an exciting time to be taking over the reins at Citizens Advice East Berkshire as we want you to further develop our funding and operating models to reflect the needs of our communities across the three boroughs of Slough, Bracknell Forest, and Maidenhead & Windsor.

Building on our experience and learning over the past year, the new CEO will lead the organisation to meet client needs, emerging demands and ensure a sustainable service for our communities. The Chief Executive Officer is supported by a talented and dedicated team of staff and volunteers and benefits from a significant degree of autonomy in carrying out the role. 

Your main duties will include:

• Working closely with the Trustee Board to develop, implement and monitor the delivery of business plans consistent with local needs and stakeholder requirements. 

• Direct and manage the income generation function at CAEB, working to develop and diversify the organisation’s funding base by identifying potential funding opportunities, consistent with the aims of the organisation and the operating environment. 

• Working in a politically sensitive and competitive arena, maintain and develop effective relations with The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest Council, Slough Council, and other funders, service commissioners and partners.

• Foster a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are central, dignity at work is upheld and staff and volunteers feel well led, can do their best, are engaged and motivated. 

• Maintain financial control of the service within budget heads agreed by the trustee board ensuring that financial resources are properly administered and monitored. 

• Ensure the continuous development of CAEB’s services are in line with local and national policies and legislative and changes 

About you: 

We are looking for a confident leader who wants to work with us to ensure we are a high performing, sustainable organisation. You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of providing inspirational leadership to an organisation going through change, ideally gained at an organisation of comparable scale and complexity (c.30 staff, c.80 volunteers and a turnover of >£500K). 

• Understanding of and empathy for those who experience difficulties in modern society, and a desire to empower and support them to make decisions and act upon those decisions. 

• Demonstrable track record of successful income generation and business development through fundraising, commissioning and marketing activities.

• Demonstrable experience of influencing partners, stakeholders and funders

• Demonstrable track record of financial management and budgetary control, and ability to manage an organisational budget under the guidance of the treasurer. 

• Experience of leading, managing and motivating teams at all levels, building working relationships with colleagues, and demonstrating personal commitment to organisational and staff development.

What does a Service Support Officer do?

We’re a passionate, committed and diverse team of c80 staff and c150 volunteers. We offer expert veterinary care, rescue and rehoming services, programmes in the community and guidance and support to improve the lives of dogs and cats in need.

Based in London with hybrid working opportunities, this role offers an exciting chance to combine creativity, strategy, and data-driven insights to support Mayhew’s vital work for dogs, cats, and communities in the UK, Afghanistan and Georgia.

This is a key role in the Fundraising Team at Mayhew helping to generate significant income from our digital audiences, ensuring they’re engaged with Mayhew and committed to supporting our aims to deliver greater impact for animals.

This role involves managing a range of fundraising campaigns across multiple digital channels– including social media, email and PPC, ensuring that campaign deadlines and income targets are met, and all activity is evaluated to drive future improvements.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in growing our supporter base through engaging digital acquisition activity, as well as maximising income through the cultivation of audiences already warm to Mayhew.

Our new Senior Digital Fundraising Officer must be experienced in planning and delivering fundraising campaigns across a range of online channels, with strong project management skills and experience in both acquisition and retention of donors, keeping them engaged via compelling fundraising communications. You will have an excellent understanding of digital fundraising, and hands-on experience of working with Facebook, PPC, email and web platforms.

You will be a strong multi-tasker, with the ability to hit deadlines. You will combine creativity with a solid foundation of technical and analytical skills and have proven experience in developing and delivering digital fundraising content.

Generally, you will be:

• Leading and delivering digital fundraising campaigns across paid social media, email, and PPC channels, including creative development, audience segmentation, testing and evaluation.
• Developing and implementing audience-focused acquisition and retention strategies to grow Mayhew’s supporter base and maximise income.
• Consistently produce, edit, and proofread engaging fundraising copy for digital campaigns and online content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with our objectives.
• Building engaging landing pages and ensuring our donation platform is functional, optimised, and user-friendly.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to improve donor journeys and online engagement.
• Consistently track digital expenditure and manage the digital fundraising budget to ensure cost-effective results.
• Tracking, reporting and analysing campaign performance to identify insights and improvements for future activities.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a proven track record of delivering successful digital and multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including paid advertising on Meta, PPC, and email marketing.
• Have a solid understanding of digital fundraising tools, audience segmentation, and donor journey optimisation.
• Have strong analytical skills, creative campaign development, and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

37.5 hours per week / Permanent / working onsite on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a four-on-four off shift pattern 

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Horsham Y Centre supports 50 young people aged 16-25 to alleviate the risk of or impact of homelessness. Situated in the middle of Horsham, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community. The service is staffed 24 hours a day with a support team, night team and management based onsite. It aims to support residents into independent accommodation through life skills support.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our Horsham Y team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Safety and security

• Provide a friendly and professional front-of-house welcome to residents, visitors and staff, and ensure the building is safe, secure quiet and welcoming 
• Maximise the wellbeing of residents and visitors by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and house rules, all within the terms of tenancy agreements
• Assess and monitor the risks presented by residents to ensure they can keep themselves safe and, where possible, continue their development
• Record all incidents and accidents and share appropriately with the wider team, your manager and, if necessary, the central safeguarding team 

Engagement with residents

• Welcome residents home and provide informal and responsive support so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure resident’s views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought so they can play an active role in influencing the services they receive
• Proactively promote the services on offer and ensure residents are encouraged to engage with those services
• Contribute to, or support, evening groupwork activities so that residents can access tailored solutions that meet their needs, wishes and aspirations

Administration and housekeeping

• Undertake tasks as directed, including but not limited to inputting data, assessments, reviews, case notes onto our client database and entering new residents details/closing ex-resident records
• Completing health and safety/compliance checks, and recording estate inspectors and room checks
• Adding maintenance requests to our property services system

General

• Work as part of a team, on a rota four on four off shift pattern, alongside another Housing Night Worker, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective at night, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice
