We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

· Playing a pivotal role in providing operational and strategic leadership in the financial management of SCIE
· Leading the Finance Team on all aspects of SCIE’s day-to-day financial operations to ensure financial health, long-term sustainability and compliance with polices, charity legislation and other relevant financial standards

What we are looking for:
· Achievement of a recognised, fully qualified professional Accountancy qualification (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
· A dynamic and experienced individual, with proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the charity sector
· Proficient in preparing, analysing and presenting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement).
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff.
· Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
· Proven IT skills, including a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with a strong knowledge of Excel’s functions and formulas

The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention, is a newly developed role at the DEC, responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for DEC individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.
The Direct Marketing Manager, Retention will:
- Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
- Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
- Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
- Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement the direct marketing retention strategy, ensuring that past learnings are built upon, and new ideas are tested.
- Develop and implement specific audience journeys for segments across both the life cycle of a DEC appeal and between appeals.
- Ensure timely and relevant communications to all direct marketing, community, and legacy audiences on the impact of their donations.

Fundraising

- Support the stewardship of community fundraisers and groups in conjunction with the Supporter Services team.
Networking and building relationships
- Develop excellent working relationships with the DEC’s suppliers including creative agencies, media agencies, SMS and email suppliers, and the print/mailing house.
- Work with permanent and temporary staff at the DEC during appeals to maximise the success of the appeal.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Main Responsibilities:
- To provide a high quality, client-led trauma informed support service to children and young people affected by suicide, enabling them to Address issues resulting from experiences of suicide
- Empower children and young people to aspire to a positive future
- Contribute to the prevention of future potential attempted suicide by promoting healthy attitudes to relationships, life, resilience, families and their communities and friendships
Role tasks:
- Provide early identification, intervention and support to CYP to prevent the development of negative health outcomes for children who have been affected by suicide. With a focus on identifiers such as poor school performance, decreased social adjustment and higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression.
- This service will have a pathway dedicated to working with children and young people that runs parallel to the core service. This will comprise of:
- • Immediate response following the suspected incident of suicide loss with a focus on supporting children and young persons around communication and addressing immediate issues of uncertainty, anxiety, anger and blame.
- • Deliver Group interventions and peer support focused on exploring reactions to death and suicide and strengthening coping skills for bereaved children.
- • Individual emotional and practical support and signposting to appropriate specialist services.
- • Coordination with other key stakeholders that may be involved in the care of the child or young person. This may include schools, community groups, GPs and other professionals.

The main duties of the role
- To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.

This new role within the Operations Directorate will manage our existing portfolio of national skills competitions, work with the wider team and network to develop our offering to ensure we are aligned with the UK economic priorities.
