Role Overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Trainer to join our Bet You Can Help Now team. You will deliver engaging, interactive workshops across a range of organisations, both in person and online. Working alongside our Experts by Experience (EbEs), you’ll ensure our sessions are insightful, impactful, and supportive.

This role is home-based, but you’ll need to be prepared for regular travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays, to deliver our workshops effectively.

Reporting to the Head of Training, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards and reputation of our programme, ensuring each training session meets the diverse needs of learners and our organisational goals.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive training workshops to a range of organisations, both online and in-person.

• Assist with capturing engagement and recording KPIs for reporting to funders and partners.

Key Requirements

Essential:

About Ataxia UK

Ataxia is the umbrella term for a group of neurological conditions and Ataxia UK is the UK’s leading ataxia support and research charity. Ataxia UK collaborates with the global ataxia community through our Research team, and we are on the board of the international non-profit association, Euro-ataxia. Our Services team focuses on helping everyone affected by ataxia in the UK to live their best life. About the Role  

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.

This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.

You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.

About you

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.

You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.

As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. Key responsibilities

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Galashiels-Scottish Borders Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to on a rota basis which will include weekend, evening, and bank holiday working.

About the Role

Learning with Parents is recruiting for a School Partnership Manager to work closely with the Schools Team to develop partnerships with new schools and support them as they launch our programme. As School Partnership Manager, you will have a key role supporting schools through our Learning with Parents programme to ensure learning spans a meaningful partnership across schools and homes. 

We are scaling the number of schools who use our Reading Log in September. To ensure the success of this exciting development, we are increasing the capacity of our Schools Team to engage with new schools and onboard them onto our programmes.

Areas of Responsibility

Relationship Management 

• Working closely with class teachers and school leaders to run successful programmes in partner schools

• Building strong relationships with schools to develop multi-year partnerships ensuring more families are supported through our programmes. 

Sales 

• Discussing and confirming annual renewal licences with schools 

• Work with schools to develop our partnership with them each for example increasing coverage over all classes or adding new programmes to their subscription.

• Refining our sales and onboarding process,

Programme Development

About You 

A successful School Partnership Manager will be eager to work in a small team, have a can-do attitude, and be keen to get stuck in to support the charity’s growth and impact. 

Our ideal candidate would also be able to provide examples of when they have used the following skills and experience:

• Confidence working with a range of stakeholders 

• Experience working within the UK education system, either in schools or in other organisations working in the space such as charities or suppliers

Operations Manager

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join this charitable programme based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with a mission of working in partnership to improve healthcare globally.

Position: Operations Manager

Location: Hybrid working to include days in the office on Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum FTE (depending on skills and experience)

Hours: Part time 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

This is an exciting new role that recognises the organisation’s growth and development. As Operations Manager, you will lead on risk, financial, and operational management across the organisation’s projects and programme. Working closely with the team, partners and finance colleagues, you'll ensure the smooth, effective, and compliant running of the programme.

You will play a central role in maintaining and improving systems, supporting compliance, and enabling the effective use of donor funds. You will work across departments and partners to build capacity, embed good practice, and help to deliver high-quality and impactful global health programmes.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading on financial oversight and operations processes for the charitable programme.

• Ensuring policies, procedures and systems support safe and effective programme delivery.

• Managing financial compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and donor reporting.

• Supporting partner organisations with finance and grant management.

• Leading on audits and financial reporting with support from finance colleagues.

• Developing and implementing systems to support efficient day-to-day operations.

• Contributing to budget development for grants and ensuring alignment with cost recovery.

• Communicating complex finance issues clearly to non-finance staff.

• Supporting and training partners’ finance staff and building capacity.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a proactive, organised individual with experience in finance and operations in the international development or global health sector. You’ll have a strong understanding of financial compliance and controls, a high level of accuracy, and enjoy working as part of a small and passionate team.

You will also need to have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

• At least three years’ experience of multi-partner projects in the international development sector, including financial management.

• Highly competent in Excel and confident creating templates and financial databases.

• A systematic, detail-oriented, and organised approach.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to explain financial and contractual information to non-finance colleagues.

• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility.

About the role:

The Newham Visiting Support Service provides intensive floating support for individuals who have experienced homelessness in the borough. Newham Visiting Support Team works across 5 Housing Management Organisations (HMOs) in the London Borough of Newham.

This role sits within a dynamic and collaborative service that plays a crucial part in Newham’s wider housing pathway. Working closely with local partners, the team delivers intensive, short term resettlement support to people transitioning from temporary accommodation into private rented housing. The service exists to help reduce the risk of repeat homelessness and support people in building independent, stable lives. By promoting social inclusion and practical independence, we aim to create lasting impact and improve wellbeing for each person we support.

As a Resettlement Worker, you'll be central to this mission. You'll be supporting up to 15 clients at a time as they take the next step toward secure housing. Your work will be varied and meaningful: helping people maximise their income, manage tenancies, set up essential utilities, and navigate relationships with landlords and key local services. You’ll create personalised support plans that connect clients to the right networks, encouraging independence while building their confidence and resilience.

• A proven ability to create and deliver SMART Resettlement action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessments.

The Role
