Role description: 

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Communications & Publications Officer to lead on crafting compelling written content across Southampton Hospitals Charity’s key communication channels. You will be responsible for producing high-quality publications, case studies, and press materials that engage supporters, hospital staff, and the wider community. 

Working closely with the Campaigns and Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing and Content Officer, you will ensure stories and impact case studies are effectively shared across print and digital channels, supporting fundraising and brand awareness. 

Main Responsibilities: 

Content creation & publications 

• Research, write, and edit compelling copy for a range of publications, including impact reports, newsletters, magazines, and brochures. 

• Write engaging press releases and manage media relations. 

• Work with designers and printers to produce high-quality print materials, ensuring the Southampton Hospitals Charity brand is consistent throughout. 

• Work with photographers to ensure the charity has an extensive bank of patient and UHS staff photography to use across marketing collateral and communications. 

Fundraising & supporter engagement 

• Develop and manage case studies that showcase the impact of fundraising and donations, including taking photos of projects and interviewing staff and patients where needed. 

• Develop concepts and promotional collateral for fundraising activity and events (including responsibility for in house design). 

• Work closely with Campaigns & Marketing Manager to develop key messaging and deliver activity for large scale marketing and fundraising campaigns that help the Charity to meet financial and engagement targets. 

• Develop and manage case studies that showcase the impact of fundraising and donations. 

Internal & external communications 

• Build relationships with UHS Communications team. 

• Lead on internal communications, ensuring hospital staff are up-to-date and engaged with charitable activities. 

Stakeholder & media engagement 

• Build relationships with hospital staff to identify potential stories and case studies. 

• Liaise with journalists and media contacts to secure press coverage. 

• Work closely with the Digital Marketing and Content Officer to ensure consistency across print and digital content. 

• Where needed, help manage Digital Marketing and Content Officer responsibilities during periods of annual leave. 

Person Specification: 

Knowledge & Experience 

• Experience (or interest in) working within the Charity Sector and an understanding of the principles of the donor pipeline and donor/supporter engagement. 

• Strong experience in copywriting, editing, and storytelling. 

• Experience producing print and digital publications, including designing in-house as well as working with third-party designers and suppliers where necessary. 

• Experience writing press releases and working with the media. 

• Understanding of audience segmentation and tailored messaging. 

• Knowledge of fundraising communications and storytelling best practices.

What is a Portfolio Delivery Test Lead?

As Portfolio Delivery Test Lead (a new role to MSIUK) you will oversee testing and lead the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for all new MSI UK system deployments, responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing UAT to ensure that the solution meets business requirements and is ready for deployment.

You will work closely with the Project Managers, Products team, Business Intelligence team, Digital, IT teams, Governance, Contact Centre, Clinical colleagues and Operations, Clinical Safety, UK Learning & Development team, Global Information Services and all colleagues across the business

The Specialist Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as the Senior Specialist Housing IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG higher level qualification.

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

Supporting the recruitment for both our retail and office roles, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of the recruitment service including:

Working arrangements

You'll be an experienced qualified High Intensity Therapist with BABCP accreditation who likes working as part of a supportive team to help clients who struggle with common mental health problems such as anxiety and/or depression.

You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Mind and Body Practitioners and CBT Therapists. Supervision will be provided on both an individual and group basis. You will be expected to support the clinical governance of the Mind and Body service.

About the Role

• The London Hotel is a bespoke and time limited housing project, with 16 en-suite rooms, delivered by Westminster City Council and The Connection at St Martins. The accommodation is run from a hotel in Paddington, that has a staff office and a key work room.
• The aim of the service is to deliver a wrap-around support offer to entrenched rough sleepers, with multiple unmet needs, and who would otherwise struggle to access accommodation. The expectation put on those moving into the service is that they will be given a period of time to stabilise with health and wellbeing input and will then work towards a longer-term accommodation offer with us.
• The service provides food daily, as well as toiletries and offers other areas of support (aside from health and accommodation move on) around financial inclusion, substance dependency, obtaining ID and navigating criminal justice involvement.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to the residents of the hotel generally, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with external partners to develop support networks around the residents and will make referrals into the relevant services. Alongside this you might need to accompany people off-site to appointments and coordinate the network around them to meet their needs. You will also need to facilitate external partners accessing the site, so they can provide support to residents.  
• Your focus when working with people will be to support them to develop a move on plan, so they can move from the hotel, into longer term accommodation. This is alongside the day to day running of the service as well as facilitating the maintenance of a trauma informed environment and dynamically responding to people’s needs.
• This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026

Job Description

To provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services.  The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.

Main Responsibilities

·To manage a caseload of complex clients seeking short and long-term advocacy support, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues.

·To manage referrals in to CARA’s Advocacy service, ensuring clients meet the referral criteria.

·To provide line-management for CARA’s social care placement worker and potential future advocacy volunteers.

·To assess all new referrals to CARA’s advocacy services, allocating cases to members of the advocacy team, as appropriate.

·To liaise with other agencies, receiving and making referrals and ensuring that they understand CARA’s role and services.

·To gather information about local and national agencies and manage storage and display of this material at CARA.  To work with CARA’s Integrated Support and Advocacy Manager to create a directory of services that can be used by all the CARA team.

·To support CARA’s group work, including attendance to provide advocacy support and supporting other activities.

·To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

·To maintain and collate evaluation data, testimonials or case studies for distribution.

·To adhere to CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.
