Job Purpose

• This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all our boroughs.
• Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
• The objectives of the service include:
• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the senior support worker is to support the team manager with the smooth running of the allocated site and staff; supporting development and rest of the team including volunteer recruiting, induction (training and development) and supervision. Senior support worker will also lead in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will include deputising for the team manager where applicable including debriefing and providing support to the team.

The Early Help IDVA will be co-located within Brent Early Help and will help raise the team’s awareness, identification and response to those experiencing domestic abuse, the post holder will jointly work with Early Help Practitioners on cases to support service users and improve partnership responses.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children. The post holder will understand children’s social care and care proceedings. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved with Children’s Social Services and Early Help, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Early Help IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.

Experience of working with social care agencies or in a social care setting.

Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a

range of stakeholders.

Excellent risk assessment, support and advocacy skills and the ability to advocate successfully using evidence and professional experience.

Ability to network, influence, problem solve and apply solution focused approaches to increase access and safety and facilitate positive outcomes for women and children

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Product Development Manager to join our dynamic team. In this exciting role, you’ll lead the development of impactful products and services, including WOW – the walk to school challenge, our flagship offer for primary schools. In doing so, you’ll be responsible for ensuring they deliver on both commercial goals and charitable purpose.

What you’ll be doing:

·Drive the development and launch of innovative, inclusive and accessible products and services that align with our values and commercial strategy.

·Spearhead the evolution of WOW to maximise its impact.

·Collaborate across teams to integrate evidence and insights into product design and user experience.

·Cultivate key external partnerships and manage suppliers to deliver high quality, ethical outcomes.

·Support marketing and sales campaigns and contribute to broader business development goals.

What we’re looking for:

·Proven experience leading successful product development initiatives

·Strong project planning, budget management, and market research skills

·Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams

·Experience managing digital products and external suppliers

·Understanding of procurement processes and user-centred design principles

·Commitment of Living Streets’ mission and values
