The Role
Supporting the delivery of the 5 Year Strategic Plan set by the Trustees, you will provide the leadership necessary to create a sustainable future for the Shelter, including ensuring that the Shelter maintains the highest standards of animal welfare, staff recruitment, succession planning, knowledge, training, cleanliness and presentation are met and maintained.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day running of the Shelter, ensuring that it operates within the Charities Declaration of Trust Objects and Health and Safety guidelines.
You will also provide support and guidance to the Deputy Managers, the Finance, Fundraising & Events Manager and the Night Watch.

This animal shelter is a rescue charity dedicated to caring for the lost, stray and abandoned dogs and cats of the Bolton area. Job purpose:
The Website Content Manager will lead on the content strategy for our new and improved website - delivering engaging content which inspires our audiences to take action from praying to donating in order for Muslim Hands to continue it’s lifesaving work. The Website Manager will have oversight of all pages, from blogs to appeals, responsible for optimising our each for SEO and CRO.
Main responsibilities:
- Produce and publish new pages from appeals to blogs in line with the organisation’s needs – this includes copywriting and liaising with designers for creative.
- Create and deliver the website content strategy inline with our key fundraising touchpoints – delivering an approach which puts the audience at the centre of our plans.
- Lead on our SEO strategy in partnership with our agency to deliver SEO audits, SEO driven blogs and to improve our overall website ranking.
- Lead on creating and delivering our conversion rate optimisation strategy.
- Deliver a test plan of website content which optimises the user experience.
- Create, update and audit website pages in line with the orgs needs. Including copy, creative, landing pages, functions, journeys in line with our brand guidelines.
- Work closely with the external developers to suggest new features we’d like to test in terms of the site’s functionality.
- Communicate website updates to the wider organisation.
- Lead on reporting for organic search, SEO and CRO metrics on a weekly and monthly basis – sharing with SLT.
- Work closely with the digital marketing team to provide optimal user journeys to improve our fundraising and retention efforts.

Person specification:
- A strategic thinker who will problem solve to deliver the website strategy.
- Project and time management skills including ability to implement test strategies.

- Detail orientated to provide complete and accurate content, some of which may need regular updating.

As our Director of Finance & Services, you will be responsible to prepare, manage and implement the financial strategy, policies, procedures, and financial controls framework at AFH, as well as inputting strategically and operationally on services including HR, Procurement and Facilities. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Director of Finance & Services will work closely with the charity’s leaders to deliver the charity’s objectives. H/she will ensure controls are effectively in place and functional, and h/she will ensure compliance with the rules and regulations AFH is bound by as a charity. H/she will lead the Finance team and be ultimately responsible for all Finance objectives.
Your responsibilities as our Director of Finance & Services will include the following:
1. Strategic leadership
- As an Executive Leadership Team member, the Director of Finance & Services shall assist the CEO, the AFR and Board of Trustees (BoT) in:
- developing and implementing the financial strategy, policy and manual;
- Ensure that investments are meeting their intended objectives, and revise the investment policy as needed to maintain alignment with goalsproviding strategic direction to the organisation through executive decision making, forecasting/budgeting and its implementation;
- establishing and implementing internal controls and ensuring efficient and effective financial operations as per industry and sector benchmarks.
- Attend Executive Leadership, Senior Leadership, AFR, and Board meetings, contributing and if necessary, leading them.

2. Stakeholder Management

- Liaise with partner organisations and provide the necessary leadership and technical support.
3. Compliance
- Ensure Financial and Accounting policies, procedures, and systems are in accordance with statutory regulations, industry benchmarks, and global standards, and in compliance with risk management and internal controls.
- Ensure that all accounting records are properly and timely maintained, reporting cycles and other associated engagements are successfully performed in an effective and timely manner in accordance with the regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with agreements and contracts in relation to banks and external service providers.
4. Team Leadership
- Assume overall responsibility for UK & International Finance teams, and assume overall responsibility for services including Procurement and Facilities, including necessary resourcing/recruitment, inductions, training, retention, and day to day management.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with third parties for commercial aspects of the running AFH.
- Finalise the annual financial statements and periodic financial reports (as applicable), obtain external audit approval, and present them to the CEO, AFR Committee, and Board of Trustees for consideration and approval.Monitor and report on the overall funding status, and coordinate with stakeholders for arrangement and management of funds and grants.
- Ensure funding applications are properly prepared and AFH costs fully covered through a robust cost recovery and cross charging methodology, working with the leadership teams to interact with relevant stakeholders for these purposes.
- Conduct financial analysis and review of existing and proposed programmes, projects, and campaigns, contributing to decision making in this area. Oversee staff payroll, handling of petty cash and banking of donations, management of activity fees and credit control process

Join our clients team to oversee and enhance the entire membership lifecycle. This role is pivotal in managing membership applications, renewals, and accreditation processes, coordinating closely with voluntary assessors and committees through their CRM and software systems.
In this role, you'll lead the registration and accreditation team, ensuring efficient membership renewals, managing enquiries, and coordinating lifecycle communications. Responsibilities include overseeing member applications, maintaining registrant integrity, supporting assessment panels, and handling CPD audits. Additionally, you'll manage CRM processes related to memberships, address system issues, support financial workflows and provide insightful reports to the Board. As a team leader, you'll also line manage, develop and guide one team member, ensuring they are well-trained and that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Experience Required:
- Strong background in membership operations
- Proven experience coordinating customer service functions
- Familiarity with registration and professional recognition processes
- Experience in managing one or more direct reports
- Experience with CPD audits and course accreditation administration
