 Permanent role in Stratford,  London

 Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge are seeking Recovery workers  to join the team at the Together Cafe: our out-of-hours drop-in service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed, seeking support and advice for their mental health, there and then. The service is based in Stratford, London. Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical, and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health distress. This will consist of 1:1 and group support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

Location: Wilson Carlile Centre, Sheffield (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,403 per annum based on 37.5 hours a week

Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours a week. [0.8 or full-time appointment]

St Joseph’s Hospice in East London is one of the largest hospices in the UK. Junior UX Designer

We’re looking for a talented and innovative UX Designer to join our team. You will assist in creating user-centred designs by understanding business requirements, user needs and technical constraints.

This is a remote working role.

The Role

Reporting to the UX Manager, the Junior UX Designer role will help develop user-centred products and services across our website and other digital platforms, with a strong focus on accessibility, usability and engagement to support those impacted by stroke.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Design and prototyping – create wireframes, user flows, site maps etc. across multiple devices.

· User research – conduct and analyse user research including surveys, usability testing and A/B testing.

· Collaboration – work collaboratively with developers, designers and stakeholders.

· Accessibility standards – ensure all designs are accessible for our users and inclusive.

· Help to conduct and evaluate research studies to inform the design process and ensure that our products and services meet the needs of our users.

· Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure that design solutions are aligned with the organisation's goals and are feasible to implement.

About You

You will need to be:

· Proactive in staying up to date with new UX trends and best practice.

Job summary

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to join our small but mighty Partnerships and Philanthropy fundraising team. The team is made up of seven fundraisers focusing on securing high-value gifts with big impact, both from companies and from trusts and foundations.

Safeguarding

The role will support Disabled people to sign up to the Priority Service Register, leading to longer term energy savings and ensuring sufficient support through winter. This role will also be be able to help people heat their homes and stay warm in winter, with access to hot food through the provision of fuel vouchers, winter essentials and appliances.

In addition, the Involvement Officer will also set up a peer advocacy service to facilitate Disabled people and people with long term health conditions to come together to discuss issues and support each other.

Introduction to the role

We know that the Cost-of-Living crisis has disproportionately affected Disabled people therefore we want to do everything we can to support our members during this difficult time.

This role will support Disabled residents in Surrey to apply for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes as well as set up and run a peer advocacy service for Disabled People and those living with long term health conditions.

Main responsibilities

1. To set up and deliver group advocacy – Hold a bi-weekly peer support virtual meeting.

2. Run 'Ask a peer' sessions on our community forum each

Month (for example completing PIP applications etc)

3. Fuel Vouchers – 200 residents supported via the fuel vouchers scheme

4. Winter Essentials – 250 residents supported

5. Energy Efficient Appliances – 100 residents supported

6. In Home Visits/Phone calls to residents to assist with applications to Priority Services Register and energy efficiency home upgrade schemes.

7. Help run social activities organised by The Coalition

8. Carry out further tasks requested and agreed with the Involvement Lead, appropriate to the role and grade of the job.

IPEM is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to support colleagues and volunteers at our office on Tadcaster Road, York. The main focus of the job is to ensure that our office is a pleasant place to work for everyone and that our volunteers have the necessary administrative support to carry out their duties. The role works very closely with the Operations and Governance Manager who is accountable for the office and employee well-being. 

Based in York, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is an Educational Charity which acts as a Professional Body and Learned Society for a growing membership of more than 4,700 scientists, engineers and technologists working in hospitals, universities, and healthcare industries.

Having experience in an office-based role is essential, alongside a supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards work. The role is varied and interesting, with some regular routine tasks and some unusual requests that will require problem solving skills. You will support IPEM’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient business processes. This role involves administrative tasks, coordination, and communication to help optimise the operational workflow. You will need to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.

The role will primarily be based in our offices in York, but some travel within the UK may be required from time to time. IPEM promotes flexible working for staff. We ask all new staff to be office based for the first 6 months to facilitate training and relationship building with a range of colleagues in the office. This role provides advice and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people who contact Stonewall Housing because they are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The goal is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options in order that they have somewhere safe to live. People usually contact us because they are in crisis, the Case Worker’s job is to calmly assess their housing needs, provide them with immediate advice and sign posting and, where necessary, provide advocacy case work to ensure they get access to what they are entitled to.

Key Responsibilities

· To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive advice and case work service to LGBTQ+ people, supporting them to exercise their rights and get access to safe accommodation.

· To assess the individual needs of each person and provide a bespoke advice and advocacy plan.

· To ensure that effective service user participation mechanisms are in place.

· To ensure a high level of customer care and practice at all times.

· To develop links with relevant external agencies.

Main Duties of the Post

Casework Sessions

· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our advice and advocacy service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.

· To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regards to risk associated with their case.

· To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informed decisions.

· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the advice and advocacy to develop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.

· To have regular case work sessions to provide structured support, in relation to Housing specific issues.

· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.

Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies

· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.

· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.

· To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, where appropriate, and advocate where necessary.

Other Duties

· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work

· To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information

· To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.

· To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals and training

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience

· Lived experience, or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable LGBTQ+ people, in a voluntary or paid employment setting

· Lived experience, or extensive experience of working with LGBTQ+ people.

· Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to vulnerable people in a professional setting

· Experience of working with and delivering services to a diverse client group with a wide range of support needs

· Experience of supporting people who have faced LGBTQ+ discrimination or hate crime

Essential Knowledge

· Knowledge of Housing Legislation and how it applies to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness

The Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our growing team. We are a small, agile team and need someone who enjoys working flexibly on a range of topics.​ ​

Main Job Purpose: Administrative support to FoNS team, CEO and Board of Trustees

Responsible and professionally accountable to: Programme Manager

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (either full days or flexible hours)

At Future Frontiers, we support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.

In partnership with schools, businesses and supporters, we deliver an evidence-based programme of career coaching and 1:1 guidance for young people when they are in Year 10 and 11. This year, we are working with 3,000 young people across Greater London.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income Generation to join our senior leadership team. This new and pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our funding and trading streams. 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, building strategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. As a key player in our organisation, you will lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively to ensure the sustainability and expansion of our vital programmes.

Key responsibilities

Income Generation Strategy:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy that aligns with the charity’s mission and goals;

• Identify and explore new income streams, including fundraising, partnerships, and product development.

Fundraising:

• Oversee all fundraising activities, including trusts and foundations and individual giving;

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, funders, and sponsors;

• Develop compelling fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to attract new supporters;

• Oversee bids and pitches;

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, championing its interests locally and nationally with stakeholders and potential supporters.

Business Development and Partnerships:

• Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and other organisations;

• Develop new business and partnership engagement communications - a suite of tools and collateral;

• Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing relationships to maximise mutual benefits;

• Leverage partnerships to enhance the charity’s visibility, credibility, and reach;

• Ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction among business partners and volunteer coaches.

Product Development:

• Innovate and develop new products and services that align with the charity’s mission and generate income;

• Collaborate with the programme delivery team and the CEO to identify and drive opportunities for product development and diversification, and to scale the organisation;

• Oversee the implementation and marketing of new products.

Marketing and Communications:

• Work closely with the CEO to develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that align with the charity’s goals and objectives;

• Enhance the charity’s reputation through effective brand management, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all channels;

• Oversee the creation of compelling campaigns and content, and the charity’s digital presence including website, SEO and social media.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing income generation team including four direct reports (Senior Fundraising Manager, Head of New Business Partnerships, Head of Partnership Experience, Head of School Partnerships);

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team;

• Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development;

• Collaborate with the wider Leadership Team on Future Frontiers’ strategy and plan for growth;

• Play a key role in the development and delivery of charity-wide culture initiatives and the EDI strategy.

Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage the income generation budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources;

• Monitor and report on income generation performance, providing regular updates to the CEO and Board of Trustees;

• Oversee production of annual report and fundraising matters for the annual accounts and audit;

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in fundraising management.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay abreast of trends, opportunities, and challenges in the fundraising, education and social mobility sectors;

• Encourage and implement innovative approaches to income generation;

• Continuously evaluate and improve income generation strategies and processes, including maximising effectiveness of the CRM system (SalesForce).

About you

Experience:

• Proven experience in developing and delivering successful income generation strategies (Essential);

• Demonstrated success in growing income through diverse streams, including one or more of fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy and product development (Essential);

• A passion for social mobility and a commitment to the charity’s mission (Essential);

• Experience in the social mobility, education, or youth sectors (Desirable);

• Knowledge of relevant fundraising regulations and best practices (Desirable).

Terrence Higgins Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Specialist to join their team working as part of the Essex Sexual Health Service.

The post holder will support in the design and delivery of effective health promotion (HP) and behaviour change communication (BCC) interventions appropriate to the needs of Young People and other groups at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes. The post holder will work closely with educational establishments to directly deliver relationship and sexual health education (RSHE), parent sessions, and educator training in both primary and secondary settings.

Delivery will also involve community engagement approaches that tackle health inequalities including HIV related stigma and discrimination. Delivering targeted interventions that increase knowledge and awareness of sexual health issues including: sexual health testing, consent, confidentiality, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, whilst also increasing access to eC-Card and access to care treatment and the uptake of broader sexual health services across Essex and Thurrock.

We will be reviewing & shortlisting applications on a rolling basis and may close the vacancy earlier if recruited to. 

This role provides support to LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse and are living in safe accommodation in the community. The goal is to help people prepare for independent living in their own tenancies. The Resettlement Worker will meet with each resident to assess their needs and agree goals which will help them achieve independence. The Resettlement Worker then puts together a support plan and meets regularly with service users to provide support, challenge and encouragement as they make their journey.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive support service to LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse, supporting them towards independent living or suitable alternative housing through the provision of 1-1 support sessions and group work.

• To assess the individual needs of each person and provide a bespoke support plan.

• To ensure that effective service user participation mechanisms are in place.

• To ensure a high level of customer care and practice at all times.

• To develop links with relevant external agencies.

Main Duties of the Post

Support Sessions

• To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our domestic abuse resettlement service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.

• To meet face to face with service users regularly to provide structured support, in relation to LGBTQ+ and Housing specific issues, such as gender identity pathways, mental health services, health issues, safeguarding, liaising with the professional network.

• To work with LGBTQ+ people to develop and review individual support plans and risk assessments.

• To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.

Financial Support

• To assist service users in maximising and managing their income including universal credit, ESA, PIP and Housing Benefit.

Semi-independent Living Support

• To work with service users to enable them to develop the life and social skills necessary to sustain their accommodation and prepare them for independent living.

• To assess individual service user’s suitability for independent accommodation.

• To act quickly to manage incidents and to advise, support and assist service users unable to maintain supported accommodation into more appropriate housing options.

Resettlement

• To support service users in the completion of application forms necessary to support move-on housing, including the private rented sector.

• To ensure that all service users are provided with information about local services whilst in safe accommodation and during their move on.

• To ensure all service users are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in their home.

• To work with housing providers, both public and private, to negotiate move on options.

Groupwork, Consultation and Participation

• To work as part of a team in developing user participation.

• To identify and develop appropriate and flexible processes for consulting with our service users, via social media platforms, newsletters, events and workshops.

• To devise innovative and creative ways of involving LGBTQ+ people in the running of the service with an independent approach.

• Supporting our service users to participate in group and peer support and to access online support mechanisms.

• Facilitating and promoting an LGBTQ+ group work programme.

Other Duties

• To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.

• To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.

• To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.
