We provide a Home Care and Support Service, and also have a day care centre for people with dementia.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer. This post is a key position within the finance team and is responsible for day-to-day management and maintenance of the purchase, cash and nominal ledgers. You will process all financial transactions, enter data and compile reports using Xero and Microsoft Excel. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the role includes completion of all weekly/monthly accounting tasks and production of draft management accounts as well as supporting the Finance Director with reporting for the CEO and Board of Trustees.
The successful candidate will be qualified with experience of the UK charity or not for profit sector. You will have robust technical skills and a proactive approach with a proven ability to focus on solutions. You will have excellent people skills and the ability to work closely with operational managers and the organisations finance Officers.
You will need to work in the office at least 2 days per week, 1 of which will be Thursday. You will have some flexibility to work from home

Job Purpose:
We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan.
The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team.
Main Duties/Tasks:

Income generation

• Maximise the shop’s opening hours and ensure the shop is open and managed by the shop team in the absence of the Shop Manager.
• Help to provide and support ongoing training and development for volunteers.

Health & Safety (in conjunction with Shop Manager)
• Ensure the shop adheres to Retail Health and Safety regulations.
• Ensure the Health and Safety of staff, volunteers, and customers.
• Help to ensure staff and volunteers are trained in manual handling.
Stock Control (in conjunction with Shop Manager)
• Ensure continuous, sufficient levels of high-quality stock.
• Be responsible for deliveries and stock controls.
• Ensure stock is appropriate to the business and priced accordingly.
• Maintain a rigorous process of stock rotation, ensuring rotation within expiry dates.
Customer Service
• Be professional, patient and have a ‘people-first’ approach to customer services.

• Set high standards of cleanliness, display and merchandising.
• Establish quality standards, consumer safety and ensuring continuity.
• Play a key role in enabling the shop to represent the Charity’s values.
The charity is currently conducting a four day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

Rehab Assistant
35 hours per week
£12.50 per hour
3% contributory pension

3 months probation
On the job training will be provided at all times to help develop your skills and knowledge.
After successful completion of probation, the post holder will be required to undertake a self-study Brain Tree Training Course, called Cognitive Rehabilitation for Professionals which will be paid for by Headway Surrey. Assignments, exercises, and self-tests are included throughout the coursework—some of which are mailed or emailed to a course tutor for feedback. Headway Surrey will provide 2 hours a week paid study time. The course should be completed within 6-12 weeks.
Training on Headway Surrey’s CRM database, Charitylog will be given.

JOB PURPOSE:

ROLE OVERVIEW
The key areas of responsibility include:
To support Centre Day Workshops which run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-2.30pm. Under the direction of a Rehab Coordinator and with the assistance of volunteers:
- Prepare worksheets for clients.
- Support clients to complete worksheets.
- Help to present sessions.
- Stimulate conversation and managing correct behaviour in a classroom environment.
- Oversee other sessions throughout the day, which may include art, boardgames, discussions, brain injury education workshops etc.
To attend team meetings as required, either in-person or zoom.
To provide administration support to enable new enquiries (clients and carers) to access Headway Surrey’s rehab services. Undertaking assessments after training has been completed.
To record accurately all details on CRM (CharityLog), eg. documents, medical evidence, client contract forms, GDPR consents, details of phone calls, emails etc.
To support clients to complete Brain Injury ID Card application forms, issued by Headway UK.
To support clients by liaising with adult social care or Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) and signposting where appropriate.
As part of the team, you are required to clean and tidy the centre, as necessary.
INITIALLY
To undertake an induction program given by the Services Manager and other members of staff. Observation of sessions, training on CRM, telephone system and other processes/systems.
OTHER TASKS
As a small organisation we plan carefully, but sometimes, medical and unplanned absences may present themselves. We may need you to cover / help the team. Training will be given, so that you are prepared for these eventualities.
To provide occasional support in the wider administration duties of the organisation as directed by the Service's Manager.

About this key role

As Health & Safety Manager, a typical day might include:
- Developing and embedding a positive H&S culture throughout the organisation, through daily actions messaging and ways of working, to ensure that positive H&S awareness and responsibility is the way things are done here.
- Monitoring our compliance against corporate occupational health, safety and regulatory measures, to make sure we are achieving the highest levels of compliance and safety.

The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from over 300 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants, and delis. We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people.
Last year, we rescued over 13.4K tonnes of food and redistributed it to over 1000 frontline community organisations and 170 primary schools in every borough of London. That’s enough food to make more than 32 million meals.
The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have 179 staff working alongside 15,000 volunteers. This is a newly created role at The Felix Project to support the growing Philanthropy and Special Events function which, in 2024, is set to raise £1mn.
This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy at The Felix Project as we look to grow our income from individuals and major donors. You will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets. You’ll provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the pipeline with high-capacity prospects in order to meet current and future income targets.
Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with The Felix Project’s existing database (Microsoft Dynamics), and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way.
