Job Overview
- The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is mid-way through delivering its Ready for Business 2023 - 2026 strategy. We are seeking to dramatically accelerate growth to achieve our target of reaching one million women entrepreneurs by the end of 2030.
- The Finance Director’s role is critical to the strategic and operational financial management of the charity. They will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with the CEO, COO, Director of External Engagement and Director of Programmes and Impact.
- The Board and CEO are looking for an experienced and qualified finance professional, with the ability to lead and shape the Foundation’s approach to financial planning and financial management, lead a financial improvement programme, and ensure the Foundation’s on-going financial sustainability.
Job Purpose
- To lead strategic and operational financial planning with responsibility for achieving and executing financial objectives, budgeting, investment opportunities and oversight of annual budget processes, including the annual audit.
- To provide strategic financial insight and be an effective business partner to guide organisational and departmental decision-making.
- To drive excellence and efficiency across Finance, strengthening and embedding the right financial systems and processes, integrated with other processes where relevant to enable the organisation to scale.
- To ensure robust financial control frameworks are embedded within the Organisation and to achieve financial compliance with all requirements from Companies House, Charity Commission, HMRC etc.
Key Responsibilities
The Finance Director will lead all finance processes and will have the following responsibilities:
- Working in partnership with the CEO and other members of the SLT to ensure robust and strategic financial management, effective and efficient controls, transaction processing and financial management reporting.
- Provide strategic financial insight and data to inform decision making and financial growth and sustainability of the organisation.
- Provide an excellent finance business partner service to the organisation, to shape and improve financial capability and capacity, improving visibility and rigour around forecasting income and expenditure.
- Lead and be accountable for reporting to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC).
- Lead on the preparation of statutory accounts, audit and tax requirements of the Foundation including returns to HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission.
- Co-ordinate the development and deployment of the annual budget, using zero-based budgeting techniques where relevant; and working with the COO to ensure alignment with yearly Operational Plans.
- Serve as an internal leader of the organisation: provide staff with a strong day-to-day leadership presence, and model a culture of performance, openness and accountability.
Strategic and Operational Financial Planning
- Lead on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities and policy matters and keep the Board, CEO and SLT informed of all critical issues.
- Lead the development and production of financial management reports for the Board, SLT, budget holders and donors.
- Working closely with the CEO, COO and SLT, manage and mitigate financial risks in line with the Foundation’s risk register and strategic risk assessment.
- Lead on production of the annual statutory accounts, audit and filing of financial statements.
- Lead on treasury management including foreign exchange and cashflow, and maintain banking, payroll, and bookkeeping services.
- Ensure effective relationship management with auditors, and all other financial suppliers, representing the organisation externally, e.g. in banking negotiations.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget and re-forecasting process; working with the COO to align planning and budgeting.
- Provide oversight of funders’ commitments, funding gaps and funding ratios to drive effective decision making.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Foundation’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organisation.
Financial Insight, Business Partnering & Financial Process Improvements
- Provide strategic financial insight to drive financial performance and effective decision making (e.g. overall financial ratios, programme costing models, RoI, Value for Money etc).
- Consider commercial opportunities to support the diversification of income streams and financial growth.
- Working as an effective business partner with key departments, support and build staff capability and capacity in financial management.
- Ensure the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation run efficiently and smoothly.
- Assess, streamline and improve financial processes including but not limited to invoicing and payments, supplier, partner management, cost recovery, expenses management, purchasing and/or procurement processes and the introduction of an internal audit function.
- Lead on system and technology requirements for financial systems in line with the overall technology roadmap.
Financial Control and Compliance
- Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
- Serve as the management liaison to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC); effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at Trustee and committee meetings.
- Advise on organisational legal issues; oversee legal contracting and partner due diligence, ensure due diligence on money flows, overseeing compliance with contract and donor reporting. Lead on the implementation and review of the Foundation’s reserves policy.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria: Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Qualified Accountant with executive level experience within (or with a good understanding of) the charity sector including experience of international payments.
Ability to cover all aspects of the organisation’s strategic and operational financial management needs.
Commercially astute with a good understanding of income generation and investment opportunities.
Ability to provide strategic financial data and insights for decision-making.
Experience working in a Board-facing role highlighting key issues and risks for a Board audience.
Excellent financial technical skills combined with knowledge of financial software including Quickbooks.
Good understanding of, and ability to advise fundraising and externally funded programme portfolio(s).
Proven ability to develop organisational level budgets and plans and the systems to monitor and manage progress against them.
Good business partnering skills; ability to understand Fundraising and Programme departmental needs and build staff’s financial capacity and capability.
Experience of driving improvements in financial processes.
Commitment to excellence with an exceptional work ethic and creating a high performance and accountable organisation.
Ability to negotiate and influence at strategic level with excellent people skills to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Experience of risk management and mitigation, and a good working knowledge of the regulatory environment for UK-registered charities working internationally.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with statutory and institutional donors and knowledge of donor reporting, compliance, and contract management issues.

Job Description
Working as a qualified Teacher within a Study Programme contract, you will deliver Functional Skills maths and English qualifications.
This will be from all Entry levels up to and including level 2, within our college site for students aged 16-18 years.
Main duties include:
- To lead on the production of schemes of work for the service delivery
- To prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, design and deliver group activities
- Deliver training to individual young people and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement
- To diagnose learners literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various teaching aids
- To liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes
- To provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
- To appropriately manage any behaviour issues that arise

Main Responsibilities:
· Provide operational management of all Short Break clubs contracts across East Surrey and West Sussex
· Lead assessment and approval of CYP behavioural support plans and complex need support to ensure safe and inclusive practices within our Short Break Schemes.
· Monitor annual Short Breaks area delivery plans to ensure delivery requirements of our contracted services are met.
· Monitor short breaks budgets, including donations and grants.
· Assist with the recruitment of staff and securing opportunities to attract staff from local communities.
· On-boarding of new disability sessional staff including induction, role specific training, and on-going development to increase workforce retention.
· Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to expand the use of volunteers across Disability Services.
· To provide line management for a team of Disability Short Breaks Coordinators.
· Lead Short Break sessions and provide cover for Coordinators where needed.
· Ensure the meaningful participation of children and young people in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of short break services.
· Collection of views and feedback from families to enhance and imbed into future service offer.
· To work with the YMCA Marketing Manager to ensure that short break services are marketed effectively and to oversee the production of publicity materials and the use of advertising, promotions, web site and social media.
· Liaise with local partners, stakeholders and statutory sector to enhance the coherence, range, reach and quality of services for CYP with disabilities.
· Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services.
· To represent the YMCA at external events and to deliver presentations.

About the Investment team
The Investment team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our investments and supporting our portfolio partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in school engagement, school attainment and employment sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 5). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.
The Investment team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Job description – Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA)
The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) is essential to advancing Impetus's mission through providing a clear picture of both the impact of our portfolio partners and the effectiveness of Impetus's support. In so doing, it ensures that strong data collection, rigorous analysis, and actionable insights are at the heart of Impetus’s efforts.
This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player passionate about driving social impact. Collaborating closely with the Investment Director - Impact Lead, the SIPA will manage end-to-end data processes, from collection through to analysis and reporting, ensuring data remains accessible and actionable. This role then requires strong communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and portfolio partners, presenting insights clearly to enable impactful, data-informed decisions.
The SIPA will additionally develop performance management tools, such as those within Salesforce, and champion organisation-wide data accessibility.

The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) role at Impetus is integral to enabling us to do the same:
- To understand how our portfolio partners are performing: the impact they are having, the growth they are achieving and the progress they are making on EDI commitments.
- To understand how we are performing: how effective our support for portfolio partners is and the impact we’re having on them.
- To use insights from this information to enable our team to continually improve our support to our portfolio partners to help them become stronger, better and bigger; to reduce the gap between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and their better-off peers in school attainment, access to university and finding and keeping a job.
Key responsibilities
1. Data collection and management
- Map annual performance reporting calendar for all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and develop templates and processes for i) collecting internal and external data and ii) generating key performance reports.
- Manage and develop performance databases and knowledge, ensuring i) they meet the needs of different users within Impetus, ii) compliance with GDPR and data security.
- Lead the collection of tri-annual performance and annual survey data from portfolio partners, Impetus teams and other stakeholders, including significant liaison with Investment Directors.
- Lead and document processes for auditing data quality and understanding nuances in data (e.g. the different outcomes our portfolio partners target, and the different groups of young people they work with).
2. Performance reporting, analysis, and presentation
- Support definition of KPIs and measurement scales where relevant.
- Produce regular performance reports vs. KPIs for key stakeholders: Investment Team, all staff, Investment Committee, SMT, Board, and Impetus’ donors and co-investors.
- In collaboration with the Investment Director, run our tri-annual ‘portfolio review’ process, incl. data collection from portfolio partners, analyses on performance data, pulling-out key insights and risks, agenda-setting, session-planning, facilitation and follow-up.
- On an annual basis run more detailed and comprehensive analyses on performance data, including portfolio partner outcomes vs. benchmarks, to inform the focus of our annual review. The Annual Review aims to give a full view of our impact and value for money in the year and seeks to improve our programme of capacity-building support.
- Produce clear and insightful summary presentations in PowerPoint, for a range of audiences.
- Design and develop tools to help make information more accessible for a range of stakeholders, including external comms.
- Present and communicate data (incl. in ad-hoc reports) to help facilitate discussions, enhance our work, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Document and track progress against agreed actions from Annual Review and Portfolio Reviews, including for strategic planning and projects; implementing relevant actions where appropriate.
3. Leading on key organisational and ad hoc data/performance projects to deepen understanding of Impetus’ and our portfolio partners’ performance and impact
- Support in the development and ongoing review of Investment team and Impetus-wide impact strategy, plus the scoping and planning of projects within this.
- Play a leading role in ongoing efforts to benchmark portfolio partner outcomes and trace the impact of Impetus’ work on charity performance, including with a value for money lens.
- Lead efforts to transfer all portfolio partner performance data and collection onto Salesforce, including advising the Digital team, wireframing, setting up accessible dashboards and supporting change management efforts.
- Lead ad hoc data/performance projects, such as: i) cross-portfolio analyses of portfolio partner income, costs, staffing and EDI metrics, and ii) supporting portfolio partners to upskill data/ impact management capabilities.
- Work closely with Impetus’ Communications team to support efforts to ensure all staff have a strong understanding of our impact, and that of our portfolio partners, and are confident in speaking to it in their respective work (e.g. Philanthropy in pitching, Public Affairs in comms. on our impact/ use in policy work).
- Be Impetus’ key point of contact for data and impact, providing support, advice and training on data management and analysis for the wider Impetus team where needed, including contributing to digital transformation efforts.
The SIPA may also be asked to support on other workstreams on an ad-hoc basis.
Person specification
Essential
- Passion for drawing insight from data to continually improve performance and impact, with a strong affinity to Impetus’ mission and EDI commitments.
- A background including data analysis, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs to clearly explain findings and tell a meaningful story.
- Highly analytical and numerate:
- Experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from sometimes large and nuanced data sets.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience of working with CRM systems (experience with Salesforce a bonus).
- Highly attentive to detail, with a clear approach to auditing own work and analyses, and suggesting process improvements.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills:
- Able to form productive, trust-based relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Experience of tailoring communications and presentations to a range of different audiences (incl. non-technical ones).
- Experience in facilitating team-wide discussions.
- Strong planning and time management:
- Able to make right trade-offs or seek timely input from line manager to prioritise work.
- Ability to lead on organisational projects, taking responsibility for planning, scheduling and monitoring own and others work to meet key deadlines and requirements.
- Displays tenacity and initiative, with a desire to seek out and act on feedback.
Desirable
- An understanding of education or youth employment sectors, and of the outcomes Impetus targets.
- Experience in running training sessions to improve data literacy across teams.
- Experience of change management (i.e. digital transformation).
- Knowledge and experience of using data presentation tools e.g. Tableau, Power BI or Google Analytics.

About The Role
The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community.
The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.
About You
You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC
- Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work

- Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging

- A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life

About the Team
You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. The Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator will supervise and work with voluntary Peer Supporters, ensuring a safe and effective network of support is established.

Our Gambling Outreach And Living Support service GOALS is our community-based support service that provides bespoke and holistic 1:1 and group support to individuals and affected other impacted by gambling harms.
Our aim is to deliver an impactful GOALS service across London which builds effective networks of support for people before, during and after treatment.
A main aspect of the role will be to support and work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.
The post holder will work with the Head of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS), a respected UK-based charity since 1991, is seeking a compassionate and dynamic leader to guide our mission of providing vital support to adults affected by suicide loss. With a strong network of peer-led support groups and digital resources, we strive to reduce isolation and raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by those navigating this traumatic experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive organizational growth and sustainability while ensuring impactful service delivery.
- Provide operational leadership and serve as the primary spokesperson for the charity.
- Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to foster a culture of empathy and excellence.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in senior leadership, preferably within the charity, healthcare, or emergency services sectors.
- Exceptional people skills, strategic planning, and financial management expertise.
- A strong advocate for our mission, with the ability to build partnerships and access fundraising resources effectively.
