The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. We all share it. To continue to deliver our mission we rely on the support of people across the UK and Channel Islands - over 80% of our income comes from those who choose to give to us. We are looking to significantly grow our income in new and innovative ways. To achieve this growth, we need the very best teams in place to deliver to ambitious targets.
The NSPCC is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to develop, lead and manage an existing portfolio of fundraising events and initiatives and to recruit new supporters in order to grow income. You will need to be results driven, have excellent communication and relationship building skills, enjoy mixing with a wide range of people, and have an ability to develop and maintain relationships with supporters and staff at all levels.
The NSPCC has a strong presence across the South West with our services for children and young people running from our Together for Childhood Hub in Plymouth. The Community Fundraiser will work closely across various disciplines of fundraising and service delivery, to ensure a collaborative and collegiate approach to income generation in order to maximise opportunities for all.
One of the defining characteristics of NSPCC fundraising is the support that is provided by volunteers and donors based in the local community. The engagement and development of local relationships is at the heart of the department's strategy, and it is this that provides the foundation that has grown the NSPCC to the place it is today. This support is channelled through a combination of individual donors and volunteers and fundraising groups. To develop more long-term sustainable support and relationships this role will focus on the recruitment of new fundraising groups and stewardship of existing supporters in our focus areas of Plymouth and Exeter.

Ideally based in and around Plymouth or Exeter the post holder will drive and have access to a vehicle and be required to also travel to other parts of the South West and mainland UK, attending occasional meetings in regional offices including London, Cardiff, Birmingham and other areas when required.

We are seeking a motivated person who is passionate about education for social justice to design, plan and deliver courses and workshops on various subjects related to co-operative leadership, education and working practices.
Activities will include the design and development of high quality learning materials, including digital and online resources, the delivery, assessment and evaluation of courses (in-person, online and blended), and contributing to the development of the College curriculum plan.
Salary: Up to £26,240 pro rata (based on 28 hours per week)

The Community Engagement Practitioner will be an essential contact and facilitator for existing scheme members. The post holder will provide consistency and enthusiasm across all activities while ensuring all practices are underpinned by co-creation, delivery and future development of the scheme by the members of Connect. This is an exciting opportunity to be alongside our members and to provide day-to-day practical support, signposting, and safe spaces for membership interaction. Whilst being homebased, the Community Engagement Practitioner will be required to work flexibly including regular evening working and occasional weekends as well as travelling for team meetings, member events, training and other in person events.

- A degree in social work or similar equivalent qualification / experience.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people and adults from the age of 15 years upwards.
- Experience of developing and maintaining community spaces.
- Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with, providing support for and serving as a positive role model to care experienced people.
- Experience of using digital technologies to engage and communicate with members / stakeholders.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and knowledge of fostering and care experience.
- Excellent communications and facilitation skills, with a variety of audiences, through various medium and in person
- Willingness to work flexibly according to the needs of the scheme members and activities
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight, for events around the UK
