With 1 in 5 children struggling with their mental health, our surf therapy intervention is needed now more than ever. We transform the lives of children struggling with depression and anxiety. Through our 6 week course we help them to feel calm, confident, to have positive thoughts about themselves, to have higher self esteem and trust in others. We work with over 2000 children and young people across the UK every year and have reached over 14,000 over the past 14 years.
It is an exciting time to join the charity - we have a new CEO in post who has plans to take this charity to new heights - reaching even more children than ever before and we need an experienced fundraiser who can help us achieve that vision. What we are looking for:
· Achievement of a recognised, fully qualified professional Accountancy qualification (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
· A dynamic and experienced individual, with proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the charity sector
· Proficient in preparing, analysing and presenting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement).
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff.
· Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
· Proven IT skills, including a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with a strong knowledge of Excel’s functions and formulas
· Proficient in financial management software and tools

About the role
Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the Greater London areat. There will be occasional travel around the Greater London region, and you will be required to travel for quarterly face to face team meetings.
About the team
The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the South West, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of 10, which includes two Regional Casework Managers and a Regional Operations Manager.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the London area would be valuable

About you
The successful candidate will be employed by the IUCN UK Peatland Programme’s host organisation. You will lead the production of communications materials through design and appropriate messaging, assist their advocacy work, and plan and deliver events such as online workshops and their annual conference.

The peatland agenda has expanded exponentially over the last 10 years and you will need to be an excellent team player and networker to capture what is happening and communicate this to multiple partners and stakeholders. The Communications and Engagement Lead post is a standalone communications post within a small team (9 people) and your ability to quickly develop good relationships with partner organisations will be critical to your success in the role.
You will be lead on the delivery of the communications strand of the Peatland Programme’s activity. You should have experience of designing publications, creating digital content, newsletters, running stakeholder events and managing social media accounts. A first of its kind, the Family Service at HMP Altcourse brings together creative interventions for men in custody, bespoke family counselling and daily practical support for families visiting a loved one. Leading this ground breaking service you will work alongside internal & external staff teams to reimagine what family support is within the criminal justice system, working to influence a culture shift at HMP Altcourse and the wider prison system.
SIG Safe Ground are experts in delivering arts-based, therapeutically informed group work, celebrating 30 years of working in prisons in 2025. We’re looking for an action-orientated individual who is passionate about developing creative, family-led ways of working to best support those in crisis. You’ll join a reflective, dynamic team of facilitators, counsellors and family liaison workers supporting those with experience of the criminal justice system to build a practical toolbox to cope and move forward positively.
We are seeking a Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator to join the Safe Ground team in HMP Altcourse, Liverpool and take the lead in the effective setup, delivery, and evaluation of Safe Ground's programmes. The role involves delivering arts-based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Altcourse, where you will develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors' Centre, as well as with key prison teams, wing staff, and, most importantly, the programme participants.
You will be required to undertake additional training and vetting as per the requirements of the prison.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm hours may vary dependent on needs of the service.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Community Education Officer plays an important role in both collaborating with communities to take part in shared learning and disseminating findings to wider audiences throughout the project, informing how it develops and boosting its impact. You will work in partnership with individuals and their communities, under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager as part of the education and advocacy programme. This will include cooperative identification of changes to the food system in Knowsley in the last century, engaging project participants in discussing those changes and raising awareness to wider audiences, supporting the project to achieve its aim of creating a shared understanding and celebrating Knowsley’s heritage and influencing strategies to shape the future of the borough, through sustained, quality engagement. You will support the Community Research Coordinator to capture qualitative and quantitative data that will inform reporting and contribute project monitoring and evaluation, participant outcomes and signposting groups & individuals to project activities with the aim of improving community participation & influence in our work.
The post holder will need to be proactive, working both independently and as part of a team, whilst managing and prioritising a busy workload.

Aim 9: COMMUNITY-ANCHORED FOOD ECONOMIES
By the end of 2025, regional, participatory, celebratory food economies anchored in place and community will grow, challenging the corporate food model.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility for leading the collaborative learning process with community stakeholders in Knowsley (e.g., community groups, local schools).
- Work with individuals, groups and communities to explore the food and farming heritage of Knowsley, creating a shared understanding of what came before Knowsley’s establishment as a Metropolitan Borough.
- Contribution towards the planning and execution of events and workshops in Knowsley in collaboration with the team at Feedback and key community stakeholders.
- Primary responsibility for creating educational resources from information obtained through delivery of Feedback Global’s Heritage Lottery Fund Project, to be utilised throughout this project and in future.
- Working alongside the project delivery team you will work to capture stories and knowledge about residents’ experiences of growing, producing and consuming local or seasonal food.
- Celebrate Knowsley and its heritage through the creation of projects and workshops in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Create educational resources from information obtained considering the present and future possibilities.
- Capture stories and knowledge about residents’ experiences of growing, producing and consuming local or seasonal food over time.
- Work closely with stakeholders to reach project outcomes
- Produce tangible solutions to issues Knowsley faces
- Use information obtained for advocacy and campaigns to benefit neighbourhoods, change that improves land use, access to fresh locally produced food and creates upskilling and employment opportunities.
- Explore Knowsley archives to understand changes in land use.
- Collate a multitude of existing heritage materials whilst adding dialogue from living residents.
- Assist with the recruitment and ongoing communication between community curators.
- A commitment to the objectives and core values of Feedback - Collaboration, Celebration, Audacity, Solidarity, Impact.
- A commitment to Feedback’s anti-oppression work.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential criteria:
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to work alongside a wide range of stakeholders.
- High level of IT skills
- Experience of engagement in local community settings.
- Knowledge and interest in food as a way to engage people in advocacy for change.
- Awareness of partners, stakeholders and projects within Knowsley and the wider Merseyside area.
- Ability to regularly travel in and around Knowsley (public transport, cycle or drive)
