The Role:

As a Engagement and Event Coordinator, you will help expand the database of volunteers and save more lives. This role is central to the client's mission and we're looking for someone who is excited to engage with diverse communities, support patients and their families, and manage impactful volunteer recruitment events across the UK.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop and manage volunteer recruitment events nationwide.
• Engage with patients and their families to create compelling appeals that raise awareness and increase volunteer registrations.
• Lead presentations and training sessions for volunteers, communities, and corporate groups to inspire participation in drives.
• Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to optimise event visibility and support patient-led campaigns.

The Role

Contract Responsibilities

·Assist with proposal and tender submission, including preparing project budgets and schedules, liaising with prospective staff and ensuring all proposals are submitted within the respective deadlines

·Ensure that contracts are as per the issued proposals, that all terms agreed are in the organisations’ best interests and support the Managers/Partners in any contract administration required

Accountabilities

DAY TO DAY DELIVERY OF EVENTS  

• Responsible for the overall administration of all student events, ensuring student communication is exceptional. Including event management (covering agenda creation and resource/activity development), student and partner communication/coordination, along with posting opportunities and roles in the weekly newsletter.

STUDENT MANAGEMENT & QUERY HANDLING 

• Responsible for the relationship management of the students - including the ability to understand needs, resolve issues, and anticipating and creating a strong relationship on behalf of SEO-London 
• Responsible for managing student query escalations and to identify where there are opportunities to improve communication, marketing, or the type of events 
• Responsible for managing the programme inboxes (where applicable) 
• Responsible for identifying creative and innovative ways to connect, educate and train students 
• Provide oversight of higher education applications, CV support, screening, and recruitment preparation 
• Responsible for attending campus/school careers events and representing SEO-London professionally with knowledge and enthusiasm 
• Organise mentoring and buddying allocations  

  
QUALITY ASSURANCE  

• Responsible for ensuring that all information relating to the events and student data is managed within the GDPR guidelines and is updated in Salesforce effectively for tracking purposes. 
• Responsible for running reports to track and monitor events from the CRM

Required qualifications 

• University degree (any discipline)  

Candidates without qualifications will be considered if they have at least 1 years relevant and relatable work experience in a similar role.

Purpose of the role

Tech Angels (previously Tech to Community Connect) is a service which aims to reduce digital exclusion across Surrey. In recent years, and particularly now in a post-pandemic society, so much connection happens digitally; those without the knowledge or equipment to connect to the internet are at a very high risk of loneliness and isolation, which have a significant negative impact on physical and mental health.

To combat this, we provide devices on long term loan to people who are disabled or living with a health condition, family carers, of older age, or to those with another vulnerability. We also offer a ‘match’ with one of our team of volunteer Tech Angels, to help with digital literacy and confidence.  We also supply sim cards with data to those, who don’t have wi-fi, so that they can be connected. 

 

The purpose of the role will be to drive and coordinate referrals into and through the service, making sure that people facing digital exclusion get the support they need to get (and stay) connected.  Ultimately the outcomes we are focused on achieving are a reduction in health inequality and an increase in wellbeing.

Main responsibilities

1. Coordination of Tech to Community Connect activity in a defined part of Surrey

2. Communication with people using the service, carers, volunteers, organisations that may have referred to the service and other stakeholders

3. Database management, record keeping and impact measurement following all data security policies

4. On-going support for people using the service who are in a ‘match’ with a volunteer Tech Angel, those waiting for a ‘match’ or those who are accessing another part of the service

5. Writing case studies and sharing the stories of people the service is helping

6. Promoting the service by pro-actively building relationships across organisations and groups in Surrey

7. Working as a team to ensure we are delivering the highest quality of services

Person specification

It is essential that you have:

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a range of formats and with a variety of audiences 

· Advanced organisation and coordination skills

· Good level of computer literacy including all Microsoft packages with experience of using a range of databases

· A high degree of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative

· Live within Surrey and be prepared to travel across the county when required

· The ability to either work from home (with regular work in the community) or be based in our office in Burpham, Surrey

It is desirable that you have:

· Experience and knowledge of working with people who are Disabled, have a long-term health conditions and/or carers

· Experience and/or knowledge of working or volunteering in digital inclusion or technology training

· Confident and persuasive presentation skills

· Experience in group facilitation or training

· Volunteer management knowledge and experience

· A good understanding of the Health, Social Care and Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector (VCFS)

· An understanding of GDPR and adult safeguarding principles

You’ll help deliver our Young Carers service across Havering, so a car driver is essential.

In this role, you will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting with families and Young Carers to complete statutory assessments and create action plans. You‘ll provide support for Young Carers to reduce the impact of their caring role and improve their resilience, educational chances, and wellbeing, through signposting to local services, in-school support, one-to-one sessions, and workshops.

There will be opportunities to work closely with schools, Children’s Services and other agencies to raise awareness, identify hidden Young Carers, and ensure Young Carer needs are understood and acted on.

You will need to be confident, approachable and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly establish rapport with children and young people.
