The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, tackling self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.

In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. Vitally, we want to recruit an individual who is as committed to Brent’s vision, and who will work with us to help us be there for young people in the coming years.

General Statement of Duties

The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital has a loyal donor base, and we are now able to grow the major donor portfolio significantly to build our long-term sustainable income.  The Grants & Partnerships Officer will lead on delivering a best-practice grant-giving programme as part of a wider major donor programme.

Alongside the Executive Head of the UK Office, the Grants & Partnerships Officer will develop new major donors prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies as part of a wider fundraising strategy.

Main Responsibilities

To deliver a successful grant-giving programme and devise and deliver new prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to meet agreed targets, including:

· Establishing and managing strong relationships with past, current and prospective grant-giving organisations, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.

· Understanding all prospective and current donor profiles, and their motivations and communication styles.  Formulating personalised cultivation and stewardship plans.

· Set up and maintain regular communications with all grant-giving donors and prospects, tailoring this as required to strengthen their relationship with us.  

· Support and facilitate the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team in developing relationships with grant-giving bodies and prospects, and in how to manage these relationships to facilitate donations.

· Use creativity and adaptive thinking to develop a new and exciting programme of cultivation and stewardship events, visits, and activities to engage prospects and donors in our work and to support these key relationships.  Work with internal teams and senior volunteers to deliver events and activities to the highest standard.

· Developing and refining the internal systems needed to run a smooth and efficient grant-giving programme such as data management, internal communications, and reporting.

· Know and understand the longer-term financial strategy of the organisation and work with the Finance Director and Executive Head of UK Office to ensure the appropriate identification of funding needs.

· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office and other colleagues as required to develop compelling cases for support and funding packages that channel funds to where the need is greatest and that ensure our financial security.

· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office to manage the grant-getting budget to ensure the successful and cost-effective delivery of annual activities and understand and follow finance related procedures such as income forecasting, reporting and Gift Aid.

· Support and deputise for the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising), as required, to establish and manage strong relationships with past, current, and prospective community donors and partners, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.

· Provide project support as required to the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising) to ensure the successful implementation of community engagement and fundraising programmes.

Person Specification

Essential:

· Educated to degree level or equivalent career experience.

· Minimum of 3-years’ fundraising experience with a demonstrable track record of developing stakeholder and donor relationships with a responsibility for securing a minimum of six-figure gifts from grant-making bodies.

· Experience of working with high-value Trusts & Foundations.

· An exceptional and eloquent communicator, both written and verbal communications skills, and a natural relationship builder, you will have solid experience of presenting, negotiating, networking, and influencing.

· Experience of working to and commitment to achieving financial targets.

· Understanding of the principles and best practice of fundraising including Data Protection, ideally within humanitarian and/or international organisations.  

·A self-starter with initiative, confidence, exacting standards, drive, and flexibility.

· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office systems.

· Ability to work outside of contracted hours, as required.

· Ability to travel overseas, as required, and represent SJEHG at events and functions.

Desirable:

· Experience of raising funds within the humanitarian and/or international organisations.

· Experience of working with a CRM system to export and manipulate complex data sets, segment audiences effectively and develop a CRM strategy for donor engagement and reporting. Ideally, Raiser’s Edge.

 This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.

Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The Role:

They are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Grants & Fundraising Manager to lead their income generation efforts. You'll take ownership of their fundraising strategy, nurture donor relationships, and manage the grant application process-ensuring sustainable funding to continue delivering their life-changing services. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive innovative income-generating activities, lead a small team, and make a tangible difference in the lives of the women and children they support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to diversify income streams.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities (trusts, foundations, corporate sponsors).
- Lead the preparation of grant applications and manage a detailed grant pipeline.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Line manages the Grants Officer and support their professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and prepare impact reports for funders.

- Proven experience in fundraising and grants management.
- Strong writing skills for grant proposals and funding applications.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Leadership experience in managing a small team.

Experience in the charity sector, particularly with women's organisations, would be an advantage.

Introduction to the role

The Coalition recently registered as a charity (December 2023). With our new registered status we’re keen to build our fundraising capability by recruiting for our very first fundraising role!

To date our fundraising has been limited to trusts and grants as well as local authority funding. We’re now looking to expand on this to help us reach and support even more Disabled people and those living with long term health conditions in Surrey.

Purpose of the role

The role will develop our fundraising strategy for the charity and manage Surrey Coalition of Disabled People’s fundraising activity including community grants, individual, corporate and legacy fundraising.

Main responsibilities

The main responsibilities are listed below.

• Work with Senior Leadership Team to develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy

• Research and evaluate new grant funding opportunities, co-ordinate the submission of high quality bids, and manage reporting requirements.

• Develop and steward excellent relationships with donors, trusts, foundations and corporates to ensure a diverse range of income streams.

• Research and implement fundraising events

• Set up and deliver a legacy fundraising programme.

• Collaborate with the Finance Manager and CEO to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting of our grants

• Carry out further tasks requested and agreed with the CEO, appropriate to the role and grade of the job.

• Work with Senior Leadership to develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.

We are looking for someone with:

· Experience of all fundraising methods (E)

· Excellent organisation and planning skills (E)

· Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a range of formats and with a variety of audiences (E)

· Excellent strategic planning skills and able to balance competing priorities (E)

· Experience and knowledge of working with people who are Disabled or living with a long-term health condition and/or carers (D)

· Good level of computer literacy including all Microsoft packages with experience of using a range of databases (E)

· A good level of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative (E)

· Confident presentation skills (D)

· The ability to work safely from home and willingness to do so OR the ability to work from our office in Burpham (E)

· Live within Surrey or nearby (E)

· An understanding of GDPR and adult safeguarding principles (D)
