About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the People and Organisational Development (POD) team based in the charity’s head office. Our city centre hub has been recently refurbished and you will be working in a friendly, supportive, environment in a role where you can enjoy professional contact with colleagues at all levels. The Hub is in a fantastic location, based in the vibrant, College Green area of central Bristol.
This is a varied role providing support in the day to day running of the Bristol Hub and performing an Executive Assistant function, delivering high quality and confidential support to the Executive Director (ED), with duties such as diary and email management, administration of the ED travel and expenses and other duties.
You will be supporting the Bristol Hub Manager, taking the lead on administrative functions at the Bristol Hub, including the delivery of a friendly and efficient front of house service, answering queries from colleagues and visitors to the Hub, assisting in the support of all facilities management and liaising with contractors and suppliers.

About you

We also ask that you are experienced in office management systems and procedures including facility management and can demonstrate your knowledge of basic office health and safety.
You should be highly organised and have excellent administration skills, including the ability to make summary notes during meetings and a high level of competency using equipment and various software, showcasing your excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to effectively summarise and communicate information.

Role summary
In this role, you’ll be a key member of our small leadership team helping to strategically drive engagement, and income generation.The right candidate will need to be highly resilient with exceptional political, negotiation and relationship development skills.This role includes shared responsibility for securing income that not only sustains our own charity but leverages in significant funding for the wider sector.

Engagement

Business Development
- Working with the CEO and Director of Operations, to create and deliver an income strategy focussed on meeting VSF funding targets and our aspirations around duration of contracts and grants.Ensure all opportunities to leverage funding for the wider sector are seized.
- Develop strong relationship with key influencers and decision makers within our statutory partner organisations.
- Working with the CEO to lead strategic business development campaigns such as securing second phases of funding for our key funding streams.Be a key face to put to these campaigns.
- Monitor progress against income targets, ensuring an agile approach to mitigating risk and channelling focus of the team in order to maximise return on investment.

Background:
Due to significant losses during the Covid pandemic, a Club appeal for donations was launched in 2020. The Friends of the RAF Club was established in 2021 to recognize these generous Members, many of whom have maintained their donations which have subsequently funded key refurbishment projects in the Club. Support of The Friends contributes significantly to the Club’s financial recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Fundraising will be expected to deliver in 3 key areas:
DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMBERSHIP GIVING JOURNEY
- Enhance the Friends Scheme through life giving and particularly ending with the Legacy commitment:
- Review and manage the fundraising strategy
- Retain, recruit and steward the Friends of the RAF Club
- Devise and implement a legacy strategy
- Devise and implement a series of engagement and stewardship events for the Friends of the RAF Club
CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS
- Deliver the funding to help pay for capital projects within the Club:
- In liaison with the House Committee, devise and manage the 2025 appeal campaign to fund the refurbishment of The Running Horse Tavern (the Club’s onsite ‘pub’)
DELIVERY OF ASSOCIATED ADMINISTRATION
- In compliance with the Fundraising Code, GDPR and all other associated regulations:
- Run Friends and Legacy schemes
- Timely and appropriate communication and follow-up with all relevant parties (accepting this is a part-time role)
- Event delivery for Friends events
- Manage the systems and processes to track, administer and report on donations received
- Prepare and produce fundraising marketing collateral.
- Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). Job Summary
This is a 14-21 hours per week part time temporary 6 month contract. The pro rata salary for hours worked is between £12,658 - £18,987 per year (£31,645 full time equivalent).
There is one role that can be done from any of akt's offices in Manchester, London, Newcastle or Bristol.
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-organised and professional individual to join our team to support our work with young LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness. The role primarily involves quantitative data collection, analysis and reporting to inform akt’s strategic direction and demonstrate our impact externally.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative analysis of Services data, generating key insights to inform strategic direction and demonstrate akt’s impact.
- Produce regular internal reports for Services management on progress towards key performance indicators.
- Lead on presenting data to various audiences, including Services staff, senior management, Trustees, and funders.
- Build reports and dashboards on our CRM, In-Form (SalesForce), to support with data analysis and monitoring, and help Services staff to manage their caseload and performance.

We are looking for a Global Technical Lead – Inclusive Education to provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education to guide the development and delivery of specific initiatives and programmes.
As the Global Technical Lead for Inclusive Education, you will support Sightsavers to promote inclusive education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities in education systems in West Africa, East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA), and South Asia. Working across multiple countries, you will ensure that disability inclusion is at the centre of conceptualisation, design and implementation of Sightsavers’ projects.
Strong communication skills in English and French are essential for this role, as is the availability to travel 12-16 weeks a year, nationally and internationally.
Principal accountabilities will include:
- To provide technical leadership and expertise in inclusive education at the programmatic level

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with public affairs experience to join our Communications and Engagement Team on a 12 month contract starting 1st October.
You’ll help co-ordinate the delivery of our public affairs work across Wales, working closely with colleagues in our public affairs team based across the UK. You’ll have experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships with MPs, MSs and their staff.
You’ll support the Communications and Engagement team with managing and developing materials for key stakeholders (invites, briefings, blogs) and ensure the tone and content communicates our bilingual brand in Wales.

Are you a hands-on experienced Head of Finance who has strong experience as a Finance Business Partner as well?
An exciting opportunity has come up with a leading £18million turnover international charity which works in partnership with a global INGO to be their Head of Finance. This is a newly created role where you will be reporting to the Finance Director, leading a team of two and be the main Finance Business Partner to the Fundraising team specifically the Individual Giving team and other budget holders.
