Fundraising at BCYP
BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.
In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. About You

• The identification and management of risk
• Organisational legal responsibilities and requirements, including charity governance and international policy with respect to women’s and children’s health, charities and associated education

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years. We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team, and lead our Children and Young People’s Service. The service helps children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services including the Habilitation Service on behalf of the Local Authority.
Principal accountabilities:
1. Provide overarching leadership, and management, to the Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS).
2. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the Surrey County Council contract for Habilitation services ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators are met and reported on, in line with the contractual obligations, and that the contract is secured for the future.
3. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the CYPS Service Facilitator and others, the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services.
4. Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, and to ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and maintained.
5. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People for the charity, working closely with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and other organisations such as Surrey Youth Focus, and internally with the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Adults.
6. To plan and manage the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service, making best use of resources at all times to achieve maximum impact for the people we support across the organisation.
7. Regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required.
8. Line management of the CYPS Operational Manager, the Children and Young People’s Service Facilitator, and a number of other direct reports.
9. Support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers to ensure that they perform and work to the agreed standards and in line with our organisational values.
10. Conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs within the team to meet all national standards.
11. Work with the CYPS Operational Manager to succession plan, and manage the training and development of Trainee Habilitation Specialists to ensure the charity is well resourced.
12. Provide information, support and advice for children with vision impairment/ Multi-Sensory Impairment and their families /carers.
13. To develop the service to include children and young people who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf, and their families, working in partnership with other organisations to ensure we add value.
14. To share responsibility for the Charity’s operational decision making with other senior managers.
15. To oversee the management and maintenance of the contract for Children’s statutory register of vision impairment.
16. To work in partnership with internal teams, such as fundraising and communications, to ensure the Children and Young People’s Service is well resourced, and always in line with the charity brand.

UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate individual to lead the communications function of a fast-growing charity delivering frontline medical aid.
As the Head of Communications, you will play a key role in amplifying UK-Med’s voice, supporting our fundraising efforts through strategic communications, and ensuring our message reaches the world’s most vulnerable people.
UK-Med has an ambitious five-year strategy (you can view it here) with a goal to generate £1 million per year from voluntary sources by 2026 to fund emergency responses and training for health staff. While fundraising remains under the purview of another department, your role will be crucial in crafting and delivering the communications that support these fundraising efforts. Our charity’s income is currently primarily statutory, and while we are relatively new to fundraising, our voluntary income has quadrupled year on year for the last three years. Earlier this year, the Board invested in the team to support the delivery of the 2021-2026 Fundraising and Communications strategy.
As Head of Communications, you will build on the promising foundations laid to deliver an exciting chapter in the charity’s development. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, determined, and passionate individual to make a real difference in how we communicate our mission and impact to the world. Experience in the humanitarian or international development sector is desirable, but a keen interest in global affairs and a commitment to UK-Med’s humanitarian mandate are essential.

The Role Within Unseen
Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with.
The Policy & Research team are currently leading three projects. The Survivor Involvement Coordinator will support in the delivery of these projects.
This role will work with Unseen’s Policy & Research Team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Support Services, Fundraising, Media & Communications and Operations.
Purpose of the role
The postholder will support the collation of lived experience voices into our research work focused on policy impact on what really works to prevent modern slavery. The postholder will work closely with the Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Policy & Partnerships Officer, Senior Caseworkers and Unseen’s Survivor Consultant Volunteers and be responsible for supporting and improving our wellbeing activities, survivor voice forum and consultant focus groups.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:
· providing a public rescue, rehabilitation, and release service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife.
· providing a learning and outreach programme, public education, and access to a unique wildlife experience.
· disseminating information and data, delivering professional training, and helping conservation projects, to improve knowledge and raise standards of wildlife care across the UK.
To maximise the potential funding available for Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR), particularly through obtaining grants from trusts, foundations, local authorities and other sources.
This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity.
Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities, budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.
Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.
Fundraising is integrated into every part of SWWR’s operations. The Fundraising Manager works closely with colleagues in Education, Retail, Events, Finance, Volunteering, and Wildlife Care to understand their needs and provide support to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.
SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.
