About the role:
With our long-serving CEO and leadership team stepping down in 2024/25, the executive function has been updated into a co-CEO model of a Creative Director and Joint CEO and an Executive Director and Joint CEO (new role) to provide joint development and leadership for the organisation and affiliated projects. Together they will be responsible for articulating and achieving the creative vision and business objectives, to maintain and grow a versatile and vibrant performing arts centre and cultural community hub. They will contribute to fundraising and developmental work to achieve sustainability for the organisation. They will also oversee programmes of activity which represent the ethos and maximise artistic innovation, social and creative engagement.
Your main duties will include:
- Provide strategic leadership for the organisation and strategic advice to the Board, ensuring the development of Strategic and Business Plans, budgets and KPIs (jointly with Creative Director).
- Responsible and accountable for the overall management of the organisation through effective implementation of agreed vision, objectives, plans and targets.
- Ensure financial leadership, including annual budget setting, effective management of resources and monitoring of accounts.
- Joint lead on strategic fundraising, contributing to key fundraising applications and funder relationship management.
- With the Creative Director (and Board) maintain a wide and longer-term perspective of the external environment and developments relevant to our work; be proactive in identifying future opportunities and challenges.
- Ensure high standards of governance (with the Board), including charitable objectives and compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
About you:
We are now looking for a confident leader to work alongside a team of experienced senior managers, you will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience as a senior manager and leader in a major arts organisation or equivalent transferable skills; with a strong sense of how the organisation can enrich and transform the arts ecology, while meeting key stakeholders’ needs.
- Demonstrable record or potential for commercial awareness, financial acumen and business management skills to run a complex charity as a social enterprise with a vision of considered growth, innovation and risk.
- A desire to work in a creative organisation and a commitment to, and knowledge of, culturally diverse arts environments; confidence addressing equity and inclusion and realising and promoting the values of diversity in every aspect of the work.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders in the voluntary, public and private sectors; a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability and enjoyment of working within and leading an organisational culture equipped to generate cultural, management and institutional change internally and within the sector.
- Experience of management in a venue licensed for public entertainment, including demonstrable understanding of health and safety and facilities with the ability to oversee and lead on statutory compliance and best practice.
- Well-honed practical skills relating to running a similar sized organisation: highly skilled in and understanding of administration, HR, legal aspects, financial planning, monitoring and budget management.

Alongside artistic excellence, fundraising has been vital to AAM’s success since it registered as a charity in 2000. The orchestra’s financial strength stems from the ongoing generosity of an ever-expanding family of supporters who donated more than £430k last year to sustain AAM’s work.
Overall, the orchestra is funded by a mixture of income generated by concerts in the UK and abroad, royalties and other residuals, Orchestra Tax Relief and a large group of private donors (individuals and trusts & foundations). AAM does not receive regular public funding, though the current season marks the beginning of a four-year collaboration with the Arts and Humanities Research Council which will have a significant impact on the core funding of the organisation, as well as our ability to deliver several extraordinary projects.
Individual giving at AAM is supported by three membership schemes: Academy, Associates and Friends. Together, these make up the orchestra’s closest group of supporters. These individuals are at the heart of our work, and we are committed to developing deep and long-lasting relationships with them all. Alongside membership, the AAM Legacy Circle was established in 2013 to recognise AAM supporters who have informed us of their intention to remember the orchestra in their wills. Dame Emma Kirkby, one of AAM’s most distinguished collaborators, is the Circle’s Founder Patron. To date, the vast majority of individual giving has been from UK residents, though we plan to explore investment strategies in the coming years to increase our presence in North America, hopefully driving capacity for giving there.
AAM has an established track record of generous support from trusts & foundations, as well as from public funders. The orchestra was an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation from 2012-15 and has received numerous Grants for the Arts and other support from that funding body. Further, our current season is the first of four to be sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, a division of UK Research and Innovation.
Coming seasons will see continued expansion of our international touring work, delivery of several significant recorded, filmed and digital initiatives, and the further development of AAMplify Artists, our innovative side-by-side education scheme. As such, this position is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, capable and experienced fundraiser to join our small management team at a pivotal moment and help drive the next chapter in AAM’s already storied history. You will have:

About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Principal Gift Lead to join our Supporter Income & Engagement team. In this role, you will be a highly skilled major gift specialist and lead the development and co-ordination of £5m+ giving opportunities within our portfolio. The role will also drive transformational giving for an ambitious fundraising, communications and policy campaign to halt deforestation in the three most important tropical forests in the world: the Amazon, the Congo and the SE Asia forest basin.
As Principal Gift Lead you will work with a range of experts to scope and build winning propositions for new £5m+ opportunities, identifying appropriate funders and leveraging major support from corporate partnerships, private-sector partners and a philanthropic audience. This will involve building long-term, effective relationships with trusts, foundations and high net worth individuals as well as collaborating with colleagues and senior leaders to identify global opportunities. Critical will be the ability to ensure supporters receive the highest level of stewardship and engagement. You will also promote best practice and provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues within the Philanthropy & Events team.
We’re looking for someone with:
· Extensive experience in fundraising and a track record of success in securing transformational major gifts from foundations and philanthropists (£250k+).
· Experience of leading and motivating an inter-disciplinary, cross organisational team.
· Experience of developing complex, multi-national and multi-stakeholder proposals and cases for support.
· Experience of working with and engaging internal and external senior leadership.
· Understanding of contemporary fundraising techniques and a genuine desire to innovate.

About the Organisation
Womankind Worldwide is a global women’s rights organisation working in partnership with women’s rights movements and organisations to transform the lives of women and girls. Role Purpose
In this role, you will support Womankind’s Grants, Programmes and Partnerships in the Programmes and Learning team as part of the wider Policy, Programmes & Learning team. This includes planning, administration, implementation and monitoring of Womankind’s grantmaking, programmes and learning activities in line with Womankind’s organisational strategy and sub-strategies.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Programme Manager: Innovation and Partnerships (PMIP). They will make a strong contribution to the work and aims of Womankind with the scope to further develop and gain a wide range of practical experience and skills, in accordance with our feminist principles and approach.
Responsibilities
The Programmes and Grants Officer has four key areas of responsibility:
Project, Programme and Grant Management
- Support project leads with project, programme and grant management, including contracting, payment processing, and monitoring and reviewing reports and budgets;
- Support the development of new projects and programmes, in collaboration with Womankind partners and colleagues;
- Support fund managers with administration, management and coordination of Womankind’s flexible funds, particularly the Movement Strengthening Fund and Strategic Partner Support Grants;
- Support the organisation of in-person and online events and convenings, including managing logistics and travel arrangements.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up to date records related to Womankind partners, projects, programmes and grants, including managing and updating the contact database/CRM;
- Support due diligence processes;
- Provide logistic, administrative and technical support to the Programmes and Learning Team as agreed with the PMIP;
- Support the recruitment and placement of suitable consultants, interns and volunteers in coordination with the PMIP and relevant team members;
- Manage internal mailbox alongside other Womankind staff on the rota for this task.
Contribution to knowledge and evidence base
- Participate in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Working Group and contribute to effective and appropriate MEL processes for Womankind projects, programmes and grants in collaboration with the Impact and Learning Advisor;
- Support the production and review of research and documentation;
- Contribute Womankind’s communications through researching and drafting content for the website and social media channels;
- Contribute to team and organisational planning and reporting to key stakeholders (e.g. donors and supporters, senior management team, Co-Chief Executives and Board of Trustees).
Contribute to Womankind’s Organisational Culture and Ways of Working
- Serve as a Programmes and Learning representative and be an active participant in cross-departmental working groups, initiatives and information sharing activities as agreed with the PMIP;
- Participate in weekly huddles, monthly team and staff meetings and other regular and ad-hoc coordination and communication spaces;
- Adopt and promote feminist and anti-racist ways of working, in line with Womankind’s feminist partnership principles and anti-racism pledge.

Essential Skills:

Chief Executive Officer
We are looking for an individual with passion, energy and the ability to collaborate to springboard BAUS upwards and onwards for the next phase of its evolution.

About the Role
Our longstanding CEO, Anne Bishop, is leaving BAUS after a highly successful 18 years, which has seen BAUS grow and develop, going from strength to strength, and we are now seeking a new CEO to guide the organisation into its next chapter. With a proud history of advancing urological care and supporting our members, BAUS is poised for growth and innovation.
You will be working with a skilled and talented team, consisting of 10 dedicated staff members, many of whom have been part of BAUS success for a number of years.
About You
We are looking for:
• Experience in managing the leadership function in a similar sized organisation or in a senior leadership role in a larger organisation (experience in the not for profit sector, health sector or of managing a membership organisation is ideal)
• Experience in developing and delivering strategic plans to drive both internal and external operational engagement
• Experience in leading organisational, functional and budgetary initiatives, ideally in healthcare, charity or membership organisations
• A strong understanding of governance, with experience working alongside a Board
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
