We are looking for a Senior Grants Officer who will be a key role within the grants team, supporting Relationships Managers and the Head of Grants in the delivery of innovative and impactful grant-making. You will lead on the delivery of key funding relationships and portfolios, making recommendations on complex and strategically important requests for funding and building effective relationships with our grant holders. You will also work closely across our Impact and Evidence, Employer Engagement and Policy & Communications teams to ensure successful applicants are supported to deliver high quality, impactful projects that will build the evidence base of “What Works” to support the most disadvantaged young people into good jobs.
This role can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

Connected Futures is Youth Futures’ systems change programme. It aims to foster joined-up solutions to the complex issues and barriers facing disadvantaged young people.
We are looking for a capable, proactive person to support the overall programme management approach for Connected Futures. The Senior Programme Support Officer will support the Head of Programmes to develop and deliver an approach to programme and project management across Connected Futures. The postholder will take the lead on specific tasks, and coordinate the work of the wider cross-organisational Connected Futures team.
You will liaise with external partners and stakeholders, as well as supporting multiple internal customers and workstreams, often to tight deadlines. You will support key external and internal engagement processes, working with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of meetings and capture key decisions and inputs to feed back into programme delivery.
This is primarily a project management role, enabling a cross-functional team to work effectively and efficiently together on a complex, fast-moving and high profile programme. As well as dealing with tasks as they emerge, you will work across the team to keep track of progress, identifying any issues and risks, and enabling the Head of Programmes and other internal stakeholders to gain an overview of the programme as a whole.

An innovative, dynamic and experienced direct marketer, you use your insight-based decision making to plan and deliver exceptional fundraising campaigns. You have experience working with different direct marketing channels such as direct mail, telephone fundraising and sms.
Highly collaborative, you are used to working with a range of internal and external colleagues to efficiently deliver projects and campaigns which maximise income.
You use insight and your strong analysis skills to test and optimise your campaigns and take learnings along the way. You are innovative and use creative thinking to see different ways to elevate your campaigns and look for new ways to raise income to support vulnerable children and young people.
You will have:
- Relevant fundraising & substantial direct marketing experience and can demonstrate has been applied to drive revenues in a complex organisation/charity.
- Specific experience of acquisition & loyalty funnel management to a public audience (mass).
- Experience of setting up and ongoing managing relationshipswith external suppliers.
- Extensive experience of project management, including delivering to timescales and budgets.
- Excellent IT skills particularly including using CRM system and excel.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms such as content management systems, email marketing systems, social media tools and web analytics would be an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, to prioritise work and meet deadlines with well-developed time management skills.

Job Purpose
· To manage the delivery of Young Marketeers in Coventry in four primary schools
Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project
· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations
· Schedule, organise and deliver
o One assembly in each school
o Two food growing sessions in each school
o One market trader training session in each school
o Market Day in the city centre in July for four schools
· Maintain accurate records relating to the programme
- Complete monitoring and evaluation forms in accordance with instructions from our Evaluation team
- Take photos of workshops and events where possible
- Keep Development Manager fully updated on progress

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. This newly created role will be crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity. In this role, you will pro-actively deliver and support the communications and campaigns projects and activities. Your work will range from ensuring working animals are represented in the global news agenda, to raising awareness of organisational and income-generating activities, in line with our strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Media and PR
· Deliver local, national and international PR (both online and offline), supporting awareness-raising, global programmes, emergency, fundraising and advocacy activities and campaigns.
· Implement media plans in line with the global fundraising, marketing and communications strategy and in support of communications KPIs.
· Organise PR engagements and activities for media and other stakeholders as required.
· Produce and distribute press releases, articles, statements, case studies, Q&A sheets, position statements, briefings, press packs and other media materials.
· Identify opportunities for, and support the development of, appropriate content (video, imagery etc) for media release.
· Act as a first point of contact for media enquiries, providing out-of-hours media cover as required, including weekends.
Communications and Campaigns
· Work with the Communications and Campaigns team and colleagues to plan and implement strategic communications designed to grow awareness and understanding of the charity’s work and support income generation activities.
· Work with Global Programmes staff to identify and realise potential stories of geopolitical importance (e.g. conflict and security, climate, food security, gender issues).
· Work with the Global Programmes team to realise opportunities arising from advocacy work.
· Support awareness day campaign activity, e.g. International Working Animal Day.
· Support the development of the ambassador programme, liaising with high-profile public figures, journalists, politicians and celebrities to assist in delivering media coverage.
Brand and Content
· Write copy for publications, marketing materials and digital channels, such as the website and social media.
· Work with the Senior Content Officer, in-country teams and freelancers, to develop, catalogue and select content (photography, video, case studies).
· Oversee the production of promotional materials as required.
Person Specification:
· Experience of working in a busy press or communications environment, including interacting with national media.
· Knowledge of charity/not-for-profit communications.
· Excellent knowledge of the UK media environment, including print, broadcast and digital.
· Expertise in managing both reactive and proactive media relations.
· An experienced writer, with the ability to produce engaging, persuasive copy that is tailored to the needs of particular audiences.
· Experience of digital communications, including writing for the web.
· Experience of media contacts databases, such as Gorkana/Cision.
· Experience of project management and delivering projects on budget and within deadline.
