About the role: 

We are looking for a Community and Events Fundraiser to join our team. 

Reporting to the Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, you’d be part of a team which raises money from community and events fundraising activities. Proactively managing relationships with individuals and groups within the community is key. Along with focusing on maximising opportunities from existing supporters, the post holder will also work to harness and support new ideas and partnerships to grow this vital income stream. 

About you: 

For you the supporter is key, whether they’re a running in a marathon, holding a tea party, or taking part in an international sponsored bike ride. You’ll be enthusiastic, have strong verbal and written communication skills and some experience working in charity fundraising and of community fundraising - voluntary or paid. Above all, you’ll need to be passionate about community fundraising.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days office based in King’s Cross Mon, Thurs and possibly Fri)
Hours: 37.5 (full time)
Salary: £34,200 - £37,200PA (including London weighting, specialist officer role).

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.

Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow.

Book keeping & Finance processes

• Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
• Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
• Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
• Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
• Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
• Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
• Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.

Fundraising

• Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
• Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.

Reporting

• Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
• Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
• Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.

Payroll

• Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
• Setting up and running pension payments each month.
• Paying NI payments each month.

General administration

• Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
• Sending letters and emails as required.
• Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL

• Occupational Requirement - This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
• ATT certifications (or equivalent)
• At least three years experience as a finance professional
• Commitment to Growing Hope’s vision
• IT skills – experience of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as the task requires
• Excellent knowledge of financial management and budgets

As Senior Marketing Business Partner your role will be to support the development, delivery and optimisation of the paid marketing strategy across a variety of campaigns at a leading Children’s Charity in the UK. We’re looking for an ambitious fundraiser to join our Philanthropy team, capitalising on recent growth and with the chance to really make your mark. Your role is to engage influential and high-profile individuals and Trusts in the UK, connecting them to the difference they can make to thousands of men facing prostate cancer.

Providing the highest level of stewardship, you’ll ensure existing and new supporters feel valued, inspiring them to make five and six figure gifts, which will significantly improve the lives of men facing prostate cancer and their families. You’ll also harness the support of our enthusiastic and influential Trustees, Senior Volunteers and Leadership Team, involving them in ‘making the ask’, thanking, as well as attending events.

What we want from you

You’ll have a strong team ethic, along with the enthusiasm and willingness to be flexible in achieving targets and outcomes. With experience of Major Donor and/or Trust fundraising and a proven track record of achieving five and six figure gifts, you’ll have outstanding persuasion, negotiation and communication skills, along with the ability to develop strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, Trusts, Trustees and Directors.

You’ll be highly organised and adept at juggling multiple tasks and have the ability to balance management of existing donors while cultivating potential new supporters. You’ll be able to dive into the detail of individual engagement plans whilst keeping an eye on the big picture of the overall programme and how to achieve it so we can save more men’s lives.

About the role

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will oversee the stewardship of some of their most passionate supporters, working closely with dedicated volunteers, community groups, and overseeing key charity events. Responsibilities:

Community and Events Fundraising:

• Help deliver the teams' existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
• Develop a range of new fundraising products and assets to support all aspects of the community fundraising programme in line with our values and key messages.
• Act as an ambassador for The Passage with community groups, personally delivering talks and presentations to build relationships and promote our work.

• Produce and manage the Community Fundraising income and expenditure annual plan and budget.
• Work with the Senior Events and Community Manager to regularly review performance, report variances against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
• Monitor income and KPIs against agreed budgets and targets, taking action to address any shortfall.

People management:

• Provide all aspects of line management support, development and coaching to the Fundraising Assistant.
• Recruit, train, manage and inspire volunteers to deliver agreed aspects of the fundraising plan.

We’re looking for a mid-weight Graphic Designer to work in-house to create artwork for marketing and communications campaigns across a wide range of media, including print, digital, animation, and video. Working under the direction of the Senior Graphic Designer and within the Communications and Engagement team, the Graphic Designer will work across a range of different projects supporting the priorities of the charity.

This is a 6 months’ full time maternity cover role. This role is also a hybrid working role, where 40% of the role will be on campus based.

Work as part of the Student Voice Team to embed campaigning and organising across all areas of our work ensuring that students from every segment of the membership are empowered to make change through campaigns. Enable our communities (Academic Associations, Liberation Networks and Student Representatives) to grow and develop into effective representative bodies.

Responsibilities include:

Growing, planning & delivering KCLSU campaigns

• Provide resources, support and mentoring to student officers and student campaigners, utilising digital and offline organising models of engagement, to support them to develop hard-hitting and effective campaigns.
• Coordinate and work with KCLSU teams to support representatives and members in delivering their campaigns and communicate the impact of campaigning at KCLSU, building interest and recruiting new activists as a result.

• Work with external organisations to lead on KCLSU involvement in local, national and NUS campaigns.

The main duties of the role

• To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.
• To lead the delivery of evaluations, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• To act as an impact expert for the charity, using data and impact reporting internally and externally to develop IntoUniversity’s strategic goals
• To play a key role in the formal data and impact reporting for the charity including the production of Impact Reports and annual university reports, and ensuring the impact microsite is kept up to date.
• To prepare reports on the performance of the charity, collating data and presenting it in clear formats for a variety of internal and external audiences including: staff delivering the programme; Regional Operations Managers; the charity’s Senior Leadership and Senior Management teams; Trustees; Donors; University partners.
• To develop and maintain expertise in research and evaluation methodologies
